METHOD OF PRODUCING MICRONEEDLES
An apparatus for microneedle fabrication by the microlens technique is disclosed. The apparatus leads to a reduction in production time, cost and damage of microneedle which may be from demolding step in the molding technique. A microlens container, transparent sphere, medium, substrate sheet, and photopolymer is also disclosed. A microneedle fabrication processes capable of producing microneedles with different heights by adjusting focal length of the micro lens is further disclosed. The focal length can be adjusted by 1) changing spacing between the microlens and the substrate sheet and 2) selecting the medium with different refractive index which results in the refractive index ratio of the transparent sphere to the medium between 1.0 and 1.5. Furthermore, different pattern and shape of microneedle can be achieved by changing the arrangement of the transparent sphere instead of using photomask.
ARTIFICIAL KIDNEY SYSTEM AND DEVICE
It is provided a method and devices for detecting kidney failure and dialysis of a subject wherein the epidermis is irreversibly electroporated without generating any heat and a negative pressure is applied forming micro-conduits in the epidermis from which the interstitial fluid can be extracted, analysed and filtered to produce for example a dialysate and returned to the subject.
Vaginal Drug Delivery Device
The present invention relates to a vaginal drug delivery device configured to safely and effectively deliver a therapeutic formulation in the vagina at or near a desired target area for a specified time period.
Integrated fiber microneedle device for drug and vaccine delivery
Systems and methods are provided for fabricating microneedle arrays that includes electrospun fibers preferentially disposed within the microneedles of the array. Providing the electrospun fibers preferentially in the microneedles allows for more of a drug or other substance present in the fibers to be deposited into tissue or to provide other benefits. A mold for forming the microneedle arrays includes an insulating surface layer. The insulating surface layer affects the electric field during electrospinning such that electrospun fibers are deposited preferentially within the microneedle cavities of the mold relative to the surface of the mold. A bulk material can then be applied to the mold to form the bulk of the microneedles with electrospun fibers embedded within and a backing layer to which the microneedles are attached.
SELF-SUFFICIENT CARDIAC PACEMAKER
The invention discloses a cardiac pacemaker, characterized in that the cardiac pacemaker comprises a multiple of microneedles and a chip comprising at least one comparator with adaptive level, sequence control circuit, at least one capacitor stack built by n capacitors and 2n switches, at least one buffer capacitor outside the at least one capacitor stack, at least two additional switches outside the at least one capacitor stack, a CMOS-Logic, wherein further, the cardiac pacemaker comprises an interposer layer comprising holes for the multiple of microneedles and a lid. The cardiac pacemaker is characterized in that the chip, is located on one surface of the interposer layer and that the lid and the interposer layer form a capsule for the chip. Further, each microneedle of the array of microneedles has a distal end which protrudes from the chip and the cardiac pacemaker is adapted to be electrically self-sufficient.
COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR DELIVERING CANNABINOIDS USING MICRONEEDLE DEVICES TO THE SKIN
The present invention provides a method for treating a disease or condition in a subject, comprising administering to the subject's skin a composition comprising an effective amount of one or more cannabinoids, wherein the composition is administered with a microneedle delivery device.
Kit for delivery of an active compound into the skin
A kit for enabling delivery of an active compound to the skin for penetration into the skin, a delivery device for delivering an active compound, and a method of delivery of an active compound are provided. An active compound delivery kit for enabling delivery of an active compound into the skin of a subject includes an arrangement for providing a pathway into a biological barrier of a subject in an application zone, an active compound provided in dry form, and a delivery device for delivery of dissolved active compound to the application zone. Provision of a pathway into the biological barrier, preferably skin, is provided and the active compound applied in optimum form within a short time frame after forming the pathway ensuring treatment of the desired skin cells is optimised.
Apparatus and process for continuously manufacturing microneedles
The present disclosure relates to an apparatus and a process which can continuously produce microneedles using a conveyor system and decomposition or vacuum. By using the microneedle production method and apparatus according to the present disclosure, continuous mass production of microneedles is available, and therefore it is possible to reduce the input of manpower and produce a large amount of products compared to the conventional production method.
