ULTRASOUND-RESPONSIVE CONTAINERS FOR DRUG DELIVERY
This invention relates to coated mesoporous nanoparticles (MSN). The coating material is an ultrasound-responsive material (for example a polymer) and it acts as a control layer for blocking/release of material loaded in the pores of the MSN.
ATRAUMATIC SUBCUTANEOUS MEDICATION DELIVERY
An atraumatic trocar apparatus, system, kit, and method of use are described. The atraumatic trocar apparatus includes a cannula and an insertion obturator with an anterior rounded tip. The atraumatic trocar apparatus is assembled by passing the insertion obturator through an interior passage of a tubular cannula body of the cannula. The assembled atraumatic trocar is used to probe an incision to reach a delivery site within a patient's subcutaneous tissue. The insertion obturator is removed from the cannula and two or more medication pellets loaded within the interior passage. The insertion obturator is used to push the medication pellets through the interior passage to the delivery site and deposit the medication pellets within the patient's subcutaneous tissue in a non-linear delivery pattern.
Medicament applicator
Apparatus and methods for inserting a medicament into a body cavity are described. The apparatus comprises an elongate tube with a plunger rod therein. The plunger rod has at least one projection which cooperatively interacts or engages with at least one discontinuity on the inside of the elongate tube so that proximal movement of the plunger rod with respect to the elongate tube expels the medicament into the body cavity.
BIOINJECTION DEVICE HAVING A TIP WITH A PLURALITY OF DIRECTIONAL DISPERSION APERTURES
The bioinjection device has a housing including a pistol grip and an elongated barrel. A trigger is pivotally mounted to the housing. An inner shaft having a distal end is slidable between a first position in which the distal end of the inner shaft is disposed in the barrel and a second position in which the distal end of the inner shaft extends past an opening in the end of the barrel. A tip containing a medicament is disposed about the opening of the elongated barrel. The tip includes at least one aperture for dispensing the medicament. One can inject the medicament from the tip into a bone fracture or degenerative bone tissue during surgery by actuating the trigger of the bioinjection device. A configurable tip may be employed to control the amount and direction of dispersion of such medicament.
WEARABLE NON-LIQUID MEDICATION INJECTION DEVICE
The present disclosure relates to relates to medication injection devices, and in particular to systems and methods for on-demand delivery of a non-liquid medication from a wearable medication injection device. Particularly, aspects of the present invention are directed to a device that includes a housing defining a chamber, a piston disposed within the chamber, a needle disposed within the chamber on a first side of the piston, an energetic material disposed within the chamber on a second side of the piston, and a medication strip disposed within the needle. The medication strip includes an injectable substance in a non-liquid form.
Fiducial deployment mechanisms, and related methods of use
A medical device that may include an elongate member having a proximal end and a distal end, and a lumen disposed through the elongate member is disclosed. The medical device may also include an opening disposed at the distal end of the elongate member in communication with the lumen, and a pushing element disposed with the lumen. The medical device may also include at least one fiducial disposed within the lumen and distal to the pushing element, and a separating mechanism disposed at the distal end of the elongate member. The separating mechanism may be configured to apply a separating force to deploy the at least one fiducial.
Methods for forming implants from injected thermoreversible gels
A method of forming an implant in a tissue can include: providing an injectable liquid composition comprising one or more precursors of a crosslinkable composition; injecting the injectable composition into the tissue at the rate of about 10-12000 injections per minute and/or at an amount of 1.0E-02 ml to 1.0E-16 ml per injection; and crosslinking the one or more precursors of the crosslinkable composition so as to form a crosslinked composition.
Implant placement and removal systems
Devices, methods, and systems are provided for placing an implant into a patient and removing it therefrom.
Medical plug delivery devices with a rotatable magazine and related components and methods
Medical devices for delivering compositions or medical articles to a patient are disclosed. The medical plug delivery devices can include a fluid delivery device (e.g., a syringe), a frame, and a rotatable magazine. The rotatable magazine can include a plurality of chambers that each hold a composition or a medical article (e.g., a medical plug). By rotating the rotatable magazine relative to the frame, material within the chambers of the rotatable magazine can be sequentially deployed to a patient.
DRUG PELLET INJECTOR NEEDLE AND METHOD TECHNICAL FIELD
An injection includes a tube having opposite first and second ends. A hub is coupled to the first end. A sheath is coupled to the tube and the hub. The hub is movable relative to the tube to move the sheath between a first orientation in which the sheath covers an orifice in the second end and a second orientation in which the sheath is spaced apart from the orifice. Kits and methods of use are disclosed.
