PUNCTURE REPAIR LIQUID UNIT AND PUNCTURE REPAIR KIT
20230140616 · 2023-05-04 · ·

A puncture repair liquid unit and a puncture repair kit each has an extraction cap and a container. The extraction cap has a first flow path, a second flow path, and a third flow path. The first flow path extends between a first inlet connectable to an external compressor device for generating compressed air and a first outlet opening in the container. The second flow path extends between a second inlet opening in the container and a second outlet for taking out a puncture repair liquid from the extraction cap to supply to a punctured tire to be repaired. The second inlet communicates with the first outlet via the space of the container. The third flow path communicates with the first and second flow paths outside the space of the container so that a portion of the compressed air in the first flow path flows into the second flow path.

The sealant layer is adhered to the tire inner liner, has a thickness of 2-8 mm and comprises 100 parts of at least one rubber, 300-500 phr of at least one tackifier, optionally one or more extenders, optionally at least one hydroscopic substance, and a cure package.

COMPOSITE COMPONENT VOID REPAIR

Methods for repairing composite component voids are provided. For example, one method comprises locating a void in a composite component and subjecting the composite component to a process for repair. The process for repair includes creating a flow path through the void, applying a filler material to the composite component at the flow path, and processing the composite component having the filler material. In some embodiments, the flow path has a first opening on a first side of the composite component and a second opening on a second, opposite side of the composite component. In other embodiments, at least one portion of the flow path extends at a first angle with respect to a lateral direction defined by the CMC component, and at least another portion extends at a second angle with respect to the lateral direction.

METHOD FOR REPAIRING SELF-SEALING TIRES

This invention discloses a technique for replenishing the level of sealant in self-sealing tires at the time that a puncture in the tire is being repaired or when the tire is being recapped. This technique provides the tire with its original level of self-sealing capabilities and will enhance the possibility of the tire remaining in service until it can be conveniently repaired. This method involves (1) injecting a liquid sealant formulation into the sealant layer of a self-sealing tire through at least one puncture hole therein, and (2) sealing the hole or holes in the supporting carcass and the innerliner of the tire. The sealant utilized is typically liquid polyisobutylene having a weight average molecular weight of 25,000 to 200,000. The sealant formulation used can optionally also contain a colorant or a pigment.

System and method for repairing a composite structure

A method of repairing a composite structure includes providing an assembled composite structure comprising a substantially rigid outer component, wherein the composite structure comprises a void space at least partially bounded by the outer component. The method further includes forming an injection hole through the outer component to provide a path between the void space and space external to the composite structure. The method further includes injecting foam into the void space through the injection hole while the foam is in a substantially unexpanded state and expanding the foam within the void space.
