SELF SEALING TIRE
This invention reveals a method of manufacturing a puncture sealing pneumatic rubber tire which comprises: (1) building an unvulcanized tire including a circumferential rubber tread, a supporting carcass therefor, two spaced beads, two rubber sidewalls connecting said beads, an inner liner and a solid sealant formulation layer disposed inwardly from said supporting carcass and outwardly from said inner liner, wherein said solid sealant formulation layer is comprised of (a) polyisobutylene, (b) a peroxide, and (c) a reinforcing filler, wherein the polyisobutylene is present in the sealant layer at a level of at least 50 weight percent; and (2) shaping and vulcanizing said tire in a tire mold under conditions of heat and pressure and simultaneously forming in situ a puncture sealant layer in said tire by both crosslinking and partially depolymerizing said polyisobutylene rubber in said sealant layer formulation.
SELF-REPAIRING MULTILAYER ELASTOMER COMPOSITIONS
Provided are multilayer elastomer compositions such as multilayer films which possess the ability to self-repair upon puncturing. The multilayer elastomer compositions may be prepared from, for example, styrenic block copolymers and find use in the manufacture of thin walled articles, for example gloves, particularly medical or industrial gloves.
Tire puncture sealant
The object of the present invention is to provide a tire puncture sealant having excellent sealing property, storage property, and injection property. The tire puncture sealant of the present invention contains a rubber latex and/or a resin emulsion and a cellulose fiber having a maximum fiber diameter of less than 1,000 nm, the cellulose fiber containing cellulose that optionally has a functional group.
USE OF A SELF-HEALING POLY(ALKYLENE CARBONATE)
A mixture having a poly(alkylene carbonate) and a non-polymeric organic molecule having a molecular weight below 1,000 Da may be used as a self-healing material. The non-polymeric organic molecules having a molecular weight below 1,000 Da may also be used to impart self-healing behaviour to a mixture having a poly(alkylene carbonate).
Pneumatic tire and method for producing same
A pneumatic tire and a method for producing the pneumatic tire, wherein the pneumatic tire includes a generally string-shaped adhesive sealant, the sealant is continuously and spirally attached at least to the inner periphery of the tire that corresponds to a tread portion, the sealant has a wider portion on at least one of the longitudinal ends thereof, and the wider portion has a width larger than that of the longitudinally adjoining portion.
Tire sealant and tire repair kit
The object of the present invention is to provide a tire sealant and tire repair kit having excellent injectability. The present invention is a tire sealant containing a natural rubber latex, a synthetic resin emulsion, an anti-freezing agent, and at least one type of substance selected from the group consisting of a compound A represented by the following formula (1) and an anti-desiccant, a content of the substance being 0.3 to 10 mass %; and a tire repair kit using the same. ##STR00001## In formula (1), R.sup.1 is an amino group, a hydrogen atom, or a hydrocarbon group; and R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are each independently a hydrocarbon group optionally comprising a heteroatom, or a hydrogen atom.
Pneumatic tire with sealant layer and at least one resonator, and method for producing same
A pneumatic tire includes a resonator attached to the inner periphery of the tire, the resonator including a tube with an opening, and a cavity connected to the tube. The pneumatic tire further includes s a tread portion and each resonator faces the tread portion, the tread portion includes at least one circumferential longitudinal groove, and the opening is provided to penetrate a circumferential longitudinal groove of the tread portion.
SEALING COMPOUNDS FOR SELF-SEALING TYRES
The present invention relates to a sealing compound, in particular a tyre sealing compound, comprising a specific crosslinked butyl rubber and the use thereof as well as a process for producing said sealing compound.
Pneumatic tire with innerliner, mold release agent layer, and sealant layer
Provided is a pneumatic tire having sufficient sealing performance. The present invention relates to a pneumatic tire including a sealant layer located radially inside an innerliner, the sealant layer being formed by applying a sealant to the inner periphery of a tire from which mold release agents have been removed.
Tire Sealant Composition
A tire sealant composition, comprising: latex emulsion, surfactant, anti-freezing agent, dendrimer, and water, and optional component(s) selected from the group consisting of wetting agent and porous particles. The tire sealant compositions are excellent in high temperature stability and/or long term stability.
