Drug delivery shock wave balloon catheter system
A catheter comprises an elongated carrier and a balloon carried by the carrier in sealed relation thereto. The balloon has an outer surface and is arranged to receive a fluid therein that inflates the balloon. The catheter further comprises a shock wave generator within the balloon that forms mechanical shock waves within the balloon, and a medicinal agent carried on the outer surface of the balloon. The medicinal agent is releasable from the balloon either before or in response to the shock wave.
Method and apparatus for boosting vaccine efficacy
A method and an system for vaccinating a mammalian subject. The method includes the steps of: arranging a source of electromagnetic radiation proximate to a target zone of skin of the mammalian subject; controlling the source of electromagnetic radiation to deliver a dose of electromagnetic radiation to the target zone determined to create one or more thermally-denatured zones in the target zone; and intradermally injecting a vaccine within the target zone to vaccinate the mammalian subject. The system for vaccinating a subject may include an electromagnetic radiation source configured to be arranged proximate to a target zone on an exterior of the subject; a user control configured to selectively cause the electromagnetic radiation source to deliver a dose of electromagnetic radiation toward the target zone to create one or more thermally-denatured zones in the target zone; and a vaccine-delivery system configured to deliver a vaccine to the target zone.
Frequency-tunable intraluminal ultrasound device
Intraluminal ultrasound devices, systems and methods are provided. In one embodiment, an intraluminal ultrasound device includes a flexible elongate member configured to be positioned within a body lumen of a patient, the flexible elongate member including a distal portion and a longitudinal axis; and a transducer array disposed at the distal portion of the flexible elongate member and circumferentially positioned around the longitudinal axis of the flexible elongate member. The transducer array includes a plurality of micromachined ultrasound transducers (MUTs). In addition, the transducer array is configured to obtain ultrasound imaging data of the body lumen in response to a first electrical signal, and apply an ultrasound therapy within the body lumen in response to a second electrical signal.
DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEMS AND TARGETED RELEASE OF PHARMACEUTICAL AGENTS WITH FOCUSED ULTRASOUND
The present invention is a new controlled drug system that can be used for targeting non-invasive neuromodulation enabled by focused ultrasound gated release of one or more small molecule neuromodulatory agents.
COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR TARGETED DELIVERY OF THERAPEUTICS USING CARRIERS
The present invention provides novel compositions and methods for targeted delivery of therapeutics. In particular, the invention provides compositions comprising a plurality of carriers, such as microbubbles, wherein at least one active agent is associated or co-administered with the plurality of carriers for delivery to a target site, e.g., an organ, a tissue, or a tumor site, in a subject. The present invention also provides methods for treating a disease or condition, methods of targeted delivery of an active agent, e.g., to a target site, in a subject, using the carriers based compositions of the invention. The present invention further provides apparatus, devices and methods for preparing the compositions of the present invention.
GENE GUN
An accelerator module is connected to an initiator module and generates supersonic waves from subsonic waves generated by the initiator module. The supersonic waves deliver particles to cells in tissues. The accelerator module may include a knocking-detonation transition metal and a detonation material. An example of the knocking-detonation transition metal is copper (I) 5-nitrotetrazolate. Another example of the knocking-detonation transition metal is lead azide. An example of the detonation material is pentaerythritol tetranitrate (PETN).
Ultrasonic medicine application device that strongly promotes medicine absorption
An ultrasonic medicine application device that strongly promotes medicine absorption, having a housing, a control panel and a circuit board inside the housing, a medicine supply mechanism and an ultrasonic massage mechanism on a bottom surface of the housing. The ultrasonic massage mechanism has a base panel having massage projections, and also an electrical ultrasonic vibration element, which drives the projections make high frequency ultrasonic vibration. The medicine supply mechanism is positioned between the ultrasonic massage mechanism and the circuit board, and is configured to supply medicine towards the ultrasonic massage mechanism.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ULTRASONIC BLADDER THERAPEUTIC AGENT DELIVERY
A catheter for ultrasonic-driven bladder therapeutic agent delivery, including: a tube having a proximal expandable portion and a distal end, and at least one transducer sleeve accommodating at least one ultrasound transducer mounted on the tube between the proximal expandable portion and the distal end.
JOINT REPLACEMENT APPARATUS
Apparatus (20) for performing a joint replacement procedure comprising: a vibrator (50) configured to be coupled to a stem (120) and be excited stem out from the canal.
TREATMENT OF NEURODEGENERATIVE DISEASES USING ULTRASOUND AND AMYLOID-BETA ANTIBODIES
The present invention relates to antigen binding sites, compositions and uses thereof in the treatment of conditions associated with pathogenic proteins. In one example the condition is Alzheimer's disease.
