Intragastric balloon system

A system includes a slit valve for use with an inflatable intragastric balloon having a flange surface with an opening therein. The slit valve has a valve body connected to the flange surface and a chamber formed in the valve body. The system also includes a filler tube, that is accepted into the chamber when it is inserted through the opening in the flange surface.

INTEGRATED VASCULAR DELIVERY SYSTEM

An integrated vascular delivery system and method of use, the system including: a frame having a catheter hub that provides a first anchoring point on the patient and receives a catheter insertable in the patient to transfer fluid at an insertion site, a stabilization hub that provides a second anchoring point on the patient, at least one lateral member extending between the catheter and stabilization hubs, and a fluidic channel. The frame operates in a folded configuration in which the hubs are coupleable and an unfolded configuration in which the anchoring points are distributed around the insertion site to anchor the frame to the patient, thereby stabilizing the catheter. In some embodiments, the system further includes a septum that helps prevent fluid leakage from the catheter hub, or a needle shield that covers the distal end of a needle used during catheter insertion.

PISTON FOR A NEEDLELESS VALVE SYSTEM

A piston for a needleless valve system comprising a head portion configured to be disposed in the needleless valve system and controlling fluid flow through the needleless valve system. The head portion comprising a continuous top surface, and an opening disposed proximate the continuous top surface, wherein the continuous top surface is non-planar when the opening is in an open position.

Self closing connector
09951899 · 2018-04-24 · ·

An aseptic fluid connector having a male connector and a female connector engageable to aseptically transfer fluid therethrough. The male connector includes a closure and a piercing member comprising a hollow shaft for receiving fluid therein, a tip, and at least one port in fluid communication with the interior of the hollow shaft for passage of the fluid therethrough. The closure and/or the shaft is movable between (i) a first position wherein the closure closes the port(s), and (ii) a second position opening the port(s). The female connector includes a pierceable septum. The male and female connector are engageable such that the piercing member pierces the pierceable septum. Only when the pierceable member has fully penetrated the pierceable septum can the closure and/or the shaft move from the first position, to the second position to aseptically transfer fluid therethrough.

IMPLANTABLE VASCULAR ACCESS PORT WITH DUAL, HIGH-FLOW TRANS-CHAMBER AND LOW-FLOW, ACCESS, AND NEEDLE LOCK FOR HIGH-FLOW

A vascular access port has a single unitary septum, included in an upper wall of the port body. The septum has an arched or curved portion extending at least partially down a side of the port body opposite the outlet port and covering the lateral access zone or straight-line-access aperture to the outlet port/aperture.

SEPTUM HOUSING

A catheter assembly may include a catheter adapter, a septum housing, and a septum. The catheter adapter may include a distal end, a proximal end, an inner wall extending between the distal end and the proximal end, and a lumen formed by the inner wall. The septum housing may include one or more protrusions and may be secured to the inner wall by one or more of the following: an interference fit between the one or more protrusions and the inner wall, a snap fit between the one or more protrusions and the inner wall, and bonding between the one or more protrusions and the inner wall. The septum may be at least partially disposed within the septum housing and configured to at least substantially seal the lumen.

STERILE CONNECTION ACCESS SYSTEM FOR FLUID FITTINGS
20180078753 · 2018-03-22 ·

A fluid connection system and a method of attaching the same are provided to create a sterile fluid-flow path. The connection system includes a fluid access device having a female connector with a female elastomeric member disposed at a proximal end thereof and is coupled to an internal surface of the fluid access device. A male connector is coupled to an external surface of the female elastomeric member. Additionally, a male elastomeric member is disposed within the distal end of the male connector and seals a distal opening thereof. At least one aperture is disposed through a sidewall of the distal end of the male connector. An internal cannula is exposed out of the female connector to open the female elastomeric member upon engagement with the male connector. The male connector is sealed to the female connector by the male elastomeric member.

Flow component for medical lines and related production method

An injection site for medical lines includes a tubular body made of molded plastic material within which an elastic element made of thermoplastic material is overmolded on an enlarged end of the tubular body. The enlarged end delimits an inner annular flange and is formed with at least one radial through-hole through which the elastic element is overmolded in order to rest axially against the inner annular flange and fill the radial through-hole with an appendage.

Catheter assembly with reusable valve

A catheter assembly includes a catheter hub having an elastomeric septum that divides the catheter hub into a distal chamber and a proximal chamber. The septum also includes at least one slit that is closed and sealed when the septum is in an at-rest state. A septum activator is proximal the septum. When an external force pushes the activator against the septum, the activator deforms the septum so as to break the seal and create a flow path through the septum. A portion of the septum activator can be collapsible when subjected to the outside force. When the outside force is removed, the collapsible portion springs back to its at-rest shape, helping to pull the activator out of deforming engagement with the septum so that the septum can reseal. The activator can also be spring-biased away from engagement with the septum so that when the outside force is removed, the spring urges the activator out of engagement with the septum. With the activator removed, the septum slit can reseal.

BIOELECTRIC STIMULATOR
