The medical diagnostic system may include a sample collection component, collection cup contamination protection mechanism, sample volume control component, test strip reader component, which may be manifested as a lateral flow strip reader, flow reader, sample analytic component, data processing component, data communication component, networked data management component, and device cleaning mechanism. A method to automate analysis of samples to predict a medical condition using the medical diagnostic system is also provided.

The fluid connector assembly includes a body portion, a plug portion located on the body portion, the plug portion comprising a fluid path, a tubing, a first end of the tubing fluidly connected to the plug fluid path, a catch feature located on a first end of the body portion and configured to interact with a reservoir, and a latching feature located on a second end of the body portion, the latching feature configured to interact and lock onto the reservoir.
Infusion Pump Assembly
A wearable infusion pump assembly. The wearable infusion pump assembly includes a reservoir for receiving an infusible fluid and a fluid delivery system configured to deliver the infusible fluid from the reservoir to an external infusion set. The fluid delivery system includes a controller, a pump assembly for extracting a quantity of infusible fluid from the reservoir and providing the quantity of infusible fluid to the external infusion set, the pump assembly comprising a pump plunger, the pump plunger having distance of travel, the distance of travel having a starting position and an ending position, at least one optical sensor assembly for sensing the starting position and ending position of the pump plunger distance of travel and sending sensor output to the controller, and a first valve assembly configured to selectively isolate the pump assembly from the reservoir, wherein the controller receives the sensor output and determines the total displacement of the pump plunger.
Humidifier and airway pressure support system including same
A humidifier is for an airway pressure support system for delivering a humidified flow of breathing gas to an airway of a patient. The humidifier includes a water chamber, a filter, a filtration meter, a conduit, a nozzle, and a heater plate. The filter has a housing structured to house a filtration medium therein and having an inlet fluidly connected with the water chamber and an outlet. The filtration meter includes an inlet fluidly connected to the outlet of the filter, an outlet, a body portion extending between the inlet and the outlet which is structured to convey water from the inlet of the filtration meter to the outlet of the filtration meter, and a mechanism located in the body portion which is structured to measure filtration data of the water conveyed through the body portion.
Apparatus used for the humidification of gases in medical procedures
This invention relates to apparatus used to alter the temperature and humidity of gases. The apparatus of the present invention comprises an insufflator, humidifier and transportation means connected to delivery means to deliver humidified and heated gases to a body cavity prior to and during a medical procedure. In one form of the present invention the insufflator and humidifier are contained in the one housing, while in another form the humidifier is located proximal and external to the insufflator. The transportation means that delivers the humidified gases to the body cavity comprises a flexible tubing having located within, throughout or around it heating means. The heating means may be a heat conductive wire, a ribbon of PTC material, or a conducting wire extruded into the walls of tubing, where the tubing may be made from a PTC material or flexible plastics.
Apparatus used for the humidification of gases in medical procedures
This invention relates to apparatus used to alter the temperature and humidity of gases. The apparatus of the present invention comprises an insufflator, humidifier and transportation means connected to delivery means to deliver humidified and heated gases to a body cavity prior to and during a medical procedure. In one form of the present invention the insufflator and humidifier are contained in the one housing, while in another form the humidifier is located proximal and external to the insufflator. The transportation means that delivers the humidified gases to the body cavity comprises a flexible tubing having located within, throughout or around it heating means. The heating means may be a heat conductive wire, a ribbon of PTC material, or a conducting wire extruded into the walls of tubing, where the tubing may be made from a PTC material or flexible plastics.

Methods and systems for infusing a user. An infusion pump includes a housing with an elastic component configured to expand and store potential energy. The infusion pump includes a first tube fluidically coupled to an outlet of the housing. The first tube is configured to conduct the fluid from the housing at a first flow rate. The infusion pump includes an air filter fluidically coupled to a distal end of the first tube via an air filter inlet. The infusion pump includes a second tube fluidically coupled to the air filter via an air filter outlet. The second tube is configured to adjust the first flow rate of the fluid conducted from the housing to a second flow rate. The infusion pump further includes one or more components for distributing the fluid to a user, the one or more components fluidically coupled to an outlet of the second tube.
INSERTER, MEDICAL ELONGATED BODY SET THAT INCLUDES INSERTER, AND METHOD OF USING INSERTER
An inserter, a medical elongated body set, and a method of using an inserter can effectively remove air remaining inside a distal portion of a medical elongated body by effectively performing priming on the distal portion of the medical elongated body. An inserter assists a medical elongated body to be inserted into a medical device. The inserter includes a tubular portion having a proximal opening portion into which the medical elongated body is inserted and a distal opening portion that guides the medical elongated body to the medical device, and having a main lumen through which the proximal opening portion and the distal opening portion communicate with each other, and a connector that communicates with the main lumen of the tubular portion, and connects a liquid injection tool.
PTFE LINERS WITH REDUCED COEFFICIENT OF FRICTION
The present disclosure provides extruded PTFE composite tubes with a reduced coefficient of friction (COF). In some embodiments, such extruded PTFE composite tubes may exhibit a reduced change in coefficient of friction between about 20° C. and about 40° C. with the inclusion of secondary polymeric particles with small particle sizes (<100 μm) at loading percentages of less than about 50 weight %.
