Lens, light emitting device and method of manufacturing the lens and the light emitting device
A lens includes a cover part and a light-shielding part. The cover part includes a lens part, a connection part extending downward from lateral sides of the lens part, and one or more flange parts each extending outward from a lower-end portion of the connection part. The lens part and the connection part define a recess having an opening facing downward. The flange parts extend outward from a periphery of the opening of the recess. The lens part, the flange parts, and the connection part are formed of a thermosetting first resin and continuous to one another. The light-shielding part covers outer lateral surface of the connection part and is formed of a thermosetting second resin having a greater light-absorptance or a greater light-reflectance than the thermosetting first resin. The flange parts have a greater thickness than the connection part.
Optical element, optical element stamper structure, printed article, and method for manufacturing optical element
By providing a rib portion 40 having a constant height in the range from 50% to 120% of the height of the highest point of a split lens structure between a plurality of split lenses, even when roll forming is performed at a high speed, trapping of air bubbles can be inhibited, and resin flow can be promoted; therefore, an optical element 10 having a surface on which a lens shape is formed and having a special optical effect can be obtained with few structural defects and high productivity.
Lens, light emitting device and method of manufacturing the lens and the light emitting device
A lens includes a cover part and a light-shielding part. The cover part includes a lens part, a connection part, and a plurality of flange parts, formed with a thermosetting first resin and continuous to one another. The light-shielding part covers lateral end surfaces and an upper surface of each of the flange parts and outer lateral sides of the connection part and formed with a thermosetting second resin having a greater light-absorptance or a greater light-reflectance than the thermosetting first resin.
LAMP ASSEMBLY AND MOLDING METHOD
An exemplary lamp assembly includes a lens, a base, and a textured surface between an outwardly facing surface of the lens and an outwardly facing surface of the base. An exemplary lamp molding method includes injecting a first material into a mold cavity to form a lens, and injecting a second material against a textured surface of the lens within the mold cavity to form a base.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MANUFACTURING AN OPHTHALMIC LENS
Disclosed are a method and device for manufacturing an ophthalmic lens for eyeglasses intended to be placed in front of an eye of a wearer, the ophthalmic lens having a desired optical function including a dioptric function adapted to a prescription of the wearer. The method includes: providing an optical element made of a first material having a first refractive index, the optical element being intended to be modified to manufacture the ophthalmic lens; providing data relative to the modification of the optical element enabling to obtain the desired optical function; determining at least one zone in the first material based on data; and modifying the refractive index of the first material to form a pattern in the determined zone with focused femtosecond laser pulses according to data so as to obtain an ophthalmic lens having the desired optical function.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR FORMING OPTICAL LENSES WITH AN UNDERCUT
The present invention relates to systems and methods for forming a lens having a concave surface with at least one undercut. In one embodiment, the lens has a concave surface with at least one undercut. For example, a pliable lens with undercuts can be formed by using a pliable moldable material injected into a mold have a negative profile with at least one protrusion corresponding to an undercut of a target pliable lens. The pliable curved textured lens can now be peeled away from the mold after the shaped profile of the target pliable lens is set.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR MOLD RELEASES
Molding optical components with fine (e.g., micron-scale) features from optical adhesive or polymer can be difficult because the optical components often stick to the mold. If the component sticks to the mold, then either the component or the mold may be damaged or destroyed as the component is removed from the mold. This damage can be reduced or avoided altogether by illuminating the interface between the component and the mold with ultraviolet (UV) light before releasing the component from the mold. The UV light reduces the adhesive forces that cause the component and the mold to stick together, making it easier to remove the component from mold without damaging either the mold or the component.
LIGHTING OPTICS FOR LUMINAIRES
Disclosed herein are systems and methods for forming illumination affects through the use differing material disposed around various light sources. In some embodiments LED light sources are used. On the optical surface of the LED light source, lensing is effectuated to control the illumination from the light source. The lensing may be effectuated using maker tools such as 3D printing or micro-machining. Other embodiments of the methods described herein may be effected for shading and other illumination affects. Some embodiments include 3D printing of structures on circuit boards to effectuate lighting designs and control of LED light sources.
SPECIALLY-SHAPED EPOXY RESIN MOLDED ARTICLE, AND OPTICAL DEVICE PROVIDED WITH SAME
Provided is a molded article that has such a shape as to offer a light condensing or light diffusing effect, has excellent mechanical strengths and heat resistance, and has a high thickness deviation ratio. This molded article includes a cured product of a curable composition containing an epoxy compound (A). The cured product has a flexural modulus of 2.5 GPa or more as measured in conformity with JIS K 7171:2008, except for performing measurement on a test specimen having a length of 20 mm, a width of 2.5 mm, and a thickness of 0.5 mm and at a span between specimen supports of 16 mm. The molded article has a thickness deviation ratio (thickest portion thickness to thinnest portion thickness ratio) of 5 or more and offers a light condensing or light diffusing effect. The molded article preferably has a thinnest portion thickness of 0.2 mm or less. The curable composition is preferably a photocurable composition.
