Camera Module, Molded Circuit Board Assembly, Molded Photosensitive Assembly and Manufacturing Method Thereof

A camera module, a molded circuit board assembly, a molded photosensitive assembly and manufacturing method thereof are disclosed. The camera module includes a molded base which is integrally formed with a circuit board through a molding process, wherein a photosensitive element may be electrically connected on the circuit board and at least a portion of a non-photosensitive area portion of the photosensitive element is also connected by the molded base through the molding process. A light window is formed in a central portion of the molded base to provide a light path for the photosensitive element, wherein a cross section of the light window is configured to have a trapezoidal or multi-step trapezoidal shape which has a size increasing from bottom to top to facilitate demoulding and avoiding stray lights.

Contact lens containing a photonic crystal

A contact lens containing a photonic crystal which is configured to change color depending on a concentration of an analyte in the tears of a subject. The change in color is reversible. The contact lens may be useful for monitoring the concentration of glucose in tears of a diabetic subject or a prediabetic subject.

Method for producing an optical cast body having a holographic optical element, and optical cast body

The invention relates to a process for producing an optical casting comprising at least one volume-holographic optical element by means of at least one casting operation, the process comprising the following steps: providing a casting mould comprising a first mould section having a flat, spherical, aspherical or free-form first surface and a second mould section having a flat, spherical, aspherical or free-form second surface, the first mould section being connectable to the second mould section to form the casting mould, providing at least one holographic optical element, positioning and aligning the at least one holographic optical element with respect to the first mould section or/and with respect to the second mould section, combining the first and second mould sections to form the casting mould, introducing casting material in one or more casting steps, the casting material having a maximum viscosity at 25° C. of 100 000 mPas, curing the casting material, removing the cured casting material comprising the at least one holographic optical element from the casting mould, the at least one holographic optical element being at least partly surrounded by the casting material.

Method of manufacturing light emitting device

A method of manufacturing a light emitting device includes providing a substrate on which a light source is disposed. An underfill material is ejected from a nozzle onto the substrate substantially around the light source in a circular shape, a shape of a letter ‘C’, or a rectangular shape. A covering member having a recess portion is provided above the light source.

Capacitive DOE integrity monitor

An optical module includes first and second transparent substrates and a spacer between the first and second transparent substrates, holding the first transparent substrate in proximity to the second transparent substrate, with first and second diffractive optical elements (DOEs) on respective faces of the first and second transparent substrates. At least first and second capacitance electrodes are disposed respectively on the first and second transparent substrates in proximity to the first and second DOEs. Circuitry is coupled to measure changes in a capacitance between at least the first and second capacitance electrodes.

Multilayer contact lenses and methods of making the same are described. A contact lens (100) includes a lens assembly (103). The lens assembly (103) includes a plurality of flexible lens layers. A first layer (101) has a uniform or smooth anterior surface (106), and a second layer (102) has a structured posterior surface that includes one or more recesses (105). The anterior surface (106) of the first layer (101) and the structured posterior surface of the second layer (102) define a first cavity (107) for containing one or more components.

Optics formation using pick-up tools

Techniques related to optics formation using pick-up tools are disclosed. Optical elements are formed by pressing a pick-up tool (PUT) against elastomeric material deposited on a light-outputting side of light-emitting diode (LED) devices. Pressing the PUT against the elastomeric material causes a molded shape of the PUT to be transferred to the elastomeric material. This forms the optical elements in the elastomeric material.
