Respiratory valve apparatus and related method
One aspect of the disclosure includes a respiratory valve apparatus. The respiratory valve apparatus may include: a housing having an inner chamber, an endotracheal tube connection port, a ventilator connection port, and a resuscitation bag connection port; and a piston assembly positioned within the inner chamber and including a piston having a first passageway and a second passageway through the piston, wherein the first passageway provides a first flow pathway between the endotracheal tube connection port and the ventilator or connection port when the piston is in a first position, and wherein the second passageway provides a second flow pathway between the endotracheal tube connection port and the resuscitation bag connection port when in a second position.
DUAL NEEDLE VALVE FOR A WEARABLE DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE
Disclosed is a valve for use in a pump for a wearable drug delivery device for moving a liquid drug from reservoir into a pump chamber and thereafter from the pump chamber to a patient interface. The valve can comprise two needles, a first needle in fluid communication with the reservoir and a second needle in fluid communication with the patient interface. The first and second needles may be linearly translated to either cover the lumen opening of a needle with a septum or place the lumen opening of the needle in fluid communication with the pump chamber. When the first needle is in fluid communication with the pump chamber, the liquid drug may be transferred from the reservoir to the pump chamber via suction created by a plunger in the pump chamber. When the second needle is in fluid communication with the pump chamber, the liquid drug may be transferred from the pump chamber to the patient interface via a pressure created by the plunger in the pump chamber.
NEEDLE CAPTURE SAFETY INTERLOCK FOR CATHETER
A catheter assembly includes a flexible catheter (22), a needle (12) having a sharp distal tip, the needle (12) disposed in the flexible catheter (22) and moving from a first position that exposes the needle (12) to a second position, an outer member (26) that is configured to engage and disengage a catheter hub (14), an inner member (28) disposed in the outer member (26), and a needle protection (30) member disposed in the inner member (28), the needle protection member (30) enclosing at least a portion of the needle (12) when the needle (12) is in the second position.
SYSTEM AND RELATED METHODS FOR FAT HARVESTING
A fat harvesting system and related methods of harvesting and reinjecting fat that provides a medical professional with multiple technique options. Harvested fat can be subjected to a variety of pre-reinjection preparation steps within a single, self-contained reservoir such that the potential for contaminating the harvested fat is avoided. The fat harvesting system can be completely self-contained kit requiring no additional external systems or alternatively, can utilize available surgical suite systems, for example, vacuum to successfully harvest, prepare and reinject fat cells. The fat harvesting system can size harvested fat cells so as to be especially desirable for different injection locations in the body. The fat harvesting system is a single use, disposable system that requires no sterilization equipment and recovered and sized fat cells are maintained in a sanitary environment so as to avoid contamination that could result in having to discard recovered fat cells.
Method to secure an elastic component in a valve
An apparatus for controlling fluid flow to provide long-term access to the vascular system, and methods of making the same, are disclosed. Exemplary embodiments of the present invention describe a wedge or other similarly shaped geometrical features for fixing an elastic component and controlling an internal stress of the elastic component.

Balloon Blocker for Occlusion and Suction
Embodiments disclosed herein are directed to a drainage system for draining a fluid from a patient where the system includes a drainage tube that provides fluid communication between a catheter and a collection container. The drainage tube includes a port and a balloon attached to an interior of the drainage tube, where the balloon is configured to receive air from a needle that has pierced the port and occlude a lumen of the drainage tube. When in an inflated state, the balloon occludes the lumen of the drainage tube thereby breaking the fluid communication between the catheter and the collection container and preventing the output airflow device from drawing airflow out of the catheter. The balloon may be attached to the interior of the drainage tube by surrounding an interior side of the port.
