Electrofusion fittings for lined pipes
A liner bridge for a lined pipeline has bores extending through a tubular wall and terminals fitted in the bores, each terminal being exposed to an inward side of the wall for conducting electricity to an electrofusion element. A sealing interface between each terminal and its surrounding bore has one or more projecting formations of the terminal and at least one complementary formation of the bore engaged with the or each of the projecting formations. The interface can also include a sealing mass in the bore.
Reinforcing Ring With Sleeve
A compression collar is used for reinforcing an interference fit between a piping end and a fitting. The compression collar comprises a reinforcing ring having a tubular geometry with a radially-inward facing surface and a radially-outward facing surface. A sleeve is received around, at least in part, a portion of the radially-outward facing surface of the reinforcing ring and this sleeve wraps around one axial end of the reinforcing ring to form a stop edge thereon.
Method of Manufacturing Aircraft Engine Parts Utilizing Reusable And Reconfigurable Smart Memory Polymer Mandrel
A manufacturing process for making aircraft engine parts utilizes reusable reconfigurable smart memory polymer mandrel tooling, low temperature metal deposition, and composite part lay-up with resin coated conformable braided carbon fiber sleeves, to fabricate both metal internal engine parts and non-metal external parts for turbine engines.
Device for welding plastic tubes
A device for welding plastic tubes includes a pair of tube holders each of which has a tube clamp which includes an upper jaw and a lower jaw. The jaws in both of the tube clamps of both tube holders have smooth tube contacting walls to permit the tubing to slip through either side when the tube holders and tubes are being moved from a loading station to a stripping station to increase the length of fluid free area in the clamped tubes. A cutting/welding station provides for cutting the tubes and welding them together.
Method and arrangement for treatment of liner sleeve
A method for preparing a resizing sleeve for lining a joining point in a pipe assembly having pipes of thicker and thinner diameter. The method includes stretching the resizing sleeve in diameter to the size of the thicker pipe in diameter of the pipe assembly, installing an installation hat according to the thicker pipe in diameter of the pipe assembly by airtightly gluing it onto the stretched resizing sleeve, and returning the resizing sleeve to the size of the thinner pipe in diameter of the pipe assembly to be lined. A suitable tool for implementing the method is also disclosed.
METHOD OF MAKING AN INLINE HOUSING FOR A PART ENCLOSED IN A TUBE
A method is disclosed for making a duct assembly including an internal component part such as a silencer is disclosed. The duct assembly may be made in a blow-molding operation in which first and second duct parts are formed from a single parison as a combined part that is then split apart to receive a component part in a housing and subsequently closed by a closure part. Alternatively, the first and second housing parts may be separately formed and a component part may be inserted into a housing defined by one or both of the first and second duct parts. The first and second duct parts may be joined and sealed by injection molding a ring over telescopically assembled ends of the first and second parts.
Composite connectors and methods of manufacturing the same
A method of manufacturing a composite (e.g. fibre-reinforced polymer) connector comprises: manufacturing a tubular hub portion which extends substantially parallel to a central axis C, the hub portion comprising a thermoplastic polymer reinforced with continuous, circumferentially-oriented fibre reinforcement; placing the hub portion into a mould featuring at least one cavity; and introducing polymer into the mould so as to fill the at least one cavity to form a flange portion around the hub portion.
METHOD OF JOINING PIPES AND APPARATUS FOR FACILITATING THE SAME
An apparatus and method for joining pipes includes a plate for melting mating surfaces of the pipes to be joined. Additionally, the apparatus utilizes a vacuum in order to push the first and second pipes together in lieu of hand or mechanical pressure which may be inconsistent. Additionally, the vacuum allows the pipes to be joined to settle on each other in order to create a pressure about a periphery of the end of the pipe being joined to the other pipe. The consistent pressure creates a very strong joint between the first and second pipes.
AIR DUCT CUFF AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE
A method for manufacturing an air duct includes providing a tubular body having at least one open end which is inserted into an internal cuff mold to form an internal cuff that is secured to and axially extends from the tubular body. The tubular body and the internal cuff are removed from the internal cuff mold and then inserted into an external cuff mold to form an external cuff that is secured to and radially extends from at least the internal cuff. The tubular body with the internal cuff and the external cuff is then removed from the external cuff mold.
AIR DUCT CUFF AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE
An air duct system for transferring air or the like from one component to another includes a tubular body with an exterior surface, an interior surface, and an end which connects the exterior surface to the interior surface. The end has a diameter no larger than the exterior surface. The internal cuff connects to the exterior surface and extends axially from the end of the tubular body. The external cuff connects to the internal cuff and the exterior surface, and extends axially and radially from the internal cuff and the exterior surface. The external cuff is made from a material relatively harder than a material used for the internal cuff.
