A V-ribbed belt includes a compression rubber layer having a frictional power transmission surface that is covered with a fabric. The compression rubber layer includes an inner rubber layer in contact with the fabric and an outer rubber layer on an outer side of the inner rubber layer. The inner rubber layer is formed of a rubber composition having a Mooney Scorch minimum viscosity of 50 to 110 when measured at 125° C., and the outer rubber layer is formed of a rubber composition having a Mooney Scorch minimum viscosity of 70 to 130 when measured at 125° C.

The rubber composition includes a rubber component in which the cellulose-based short fibers are dispersed. The cover fabric and the rubber composition containing the cellulose-based short fibers are exposed on a pulley contact surface.

Methods are disclosed of treating a load-bearing part in a passenger moving system. The load-bearing part includes a plurality of tension members surrounded by a polymer material, wherein the load-bearing part includes a plurality of sections. At least one of the sections is configured to be inserted into an end termination. The methods include selecting at least one section of the load bearing part. At least a part of the polymer material at the at least one section is removed to expose the plurality of tension members. A conductive layer is applied to the exposed tension members to obtain a connection terminal. The connection terminal is connected to a monitor. The end termination is connected to the monitor.

In the frictional power-transmission belt, the isocyanate compound may have a proportion of 3 to 20 mass % in the composite fiber layer.

A power transmission belt is at least partially formed of a rubber composition. The rubber composition contains a rubber component, cellulose nanofibers, and carbon black. The amount of the cellulose nanofibers to be added is from 0.1 parts by mass to 20 parts by mass, relative to 100 parts by mass of the rubber component. The amount of the carbon black to be added is from 5 parts by mass to 80 parts by mass, relative to 100 parts by mass of the rubber component. The sum of the amount of the carbon black to be added and three times the amount of the cellulose nanofibers to be added is from 15 to 90.

According to a production method of a power transmission belt, a shaped structure having a cylindrical shape is placed radially inward of belt mold having a cylindrical shape. The shaped structure is provided on a mandrel and has a plurality of ridges arranged adjacent to one another in an axial direction of the shaped structure. The belt mold has a plurality of compression layer-shape grooves arranged adjacent to one another in an axial direction of the belt mold. The shaped structure is crosslinked by heating and pressing the shaped structure toward the mandrel while each of compression layer-forming portions, which are comprised of the plurality of ridges of the shaped structure, is fitted in an associated one of the compression layer-shape grooves of the belt mold, thereby molding a cylindrical belt slab.
