METHOD FOR PRODUCING A TIRE PROVIDED WITH A RADIOFREQUENCY COMMUNICATIONS MODULE
Method for manufacturing a tyre (1) equipped with a communication module (20), consisting in successively, and in the order required by the architecture of said tyre, laying rubber products, notably profiled elements (50) and reinforcing elements on a given support in order to yield a green tyre (1), then in vulcanizing the green tyre to yield a tyre (1), wherein, prior to laying one of the rubber profiled elements (50) on the green tyre, a slot (52) is created starting from a surface of the rubber profiled element (50) and the communication module (20) is introduced into the slot (52).
Tire and tire manufacturing method
A tire includes: a bead core; a bead filler extending to an outer side in the tire-radial direction of the bead core; a carcass ply which is folded back around the bead core; a pad member disposed on an outer side in the tire-width direction of the bead filler; and a first rubber sheet disposed in a state covering a folding end of the carcass ply which is folded back, between the bead filler and the pad member, in which a second rubber sheet covering an electronic component is disposed between the bead filler and the pad member on an outer side in the tire-radial direction of the first rubber sheet.
Tire with sensor attachment reservoir and method of attaching sensor
A tire with a sensor attachment reservoir is provided. The tire includes a pair of bead areas, a sidewall extending from each respective bead area to a tread, a carcass extending toroidally between each of the bead areas, and an innerliner disposed inwardly of the carcass. A compound ring is secured to the innerliner, and the compound ring defines a reservoir upon being secured to the innerliner. A sensor adhesive is disposed in the reservoir and a sensor is secured to the tire innerliner by the sensor adhesive. A corresponding method of attaching a sensor to a tire is also provided.
Tire containing an RFID tag
The present invention describes a tire, which shows the insertion of a passive UHF RFID tag at its moment of manufacture, in which said tag is affixed on top of the metallic part of the referred tire, more specifically on the bead rim, with the purpose of reducing the mechanical stress of the tire in question and allowing its tracking in the manufacturing chain since its first manufacturing stages.
Method for installing a monitoring device in a tyre for vehicle wheels
A positioning device for keeping a monitoring device for tyres of vehicle wheels in an installation condition, includes: two separate active portions, each having a main surface the shape of which matches that of a respective portion of an outer surface of a monitoring device, said separate active portions being adapted to cooperate with at least base portions of said monitoring device so that, when said positioning device is associated with said monitoring device, the base portions of said monitoring device are maintained at a given mutual distance by said active portions.
Radiofrequency communication module for a tire
A radiofrequency communication module or semi-finished product able to be integrated into the structure of a tire comprises a radiofrequency transponder embedded in a rubber blend and comprising an electronic chip and a radiating antenna that is able to communicate with a radiofrequency reader. The radiofrequency transponder in addition comprises a primary antenna that is electrically connected to the electronic chip, the primary antenna is electromagnetically coupled to the radiating antenna, the radiating antenna consists of a single-strand helical spring, and the radiating antenna has a core made of steel coated with a metal exterior adhesion layer for adhesion to the rubber blend that surrounds it.
Pneumatic Tire and Method for Manufacturing the Same
Provided are a pneumatic tire and a method for manufacturing the same. At least one sensor unit including a sensor that acquires tire information is fixed to a tire inner surface via an adhesive layer, and an amount of silicon in a release agent detected by fluorescent X-ray analysis at least in a fixing region for the sensor unit is from 0.1 wt % to 10.0 wt %.
RFID tag secured to a tire
An RFID tag for attaching to a tire consists of a first polyester layer, a second polyester layer adjacent the first polyester layer, the second polyester layer having an etched antenna and an RFID chip, and a third polyester layer adjacent the second polyester layer. The third polyester layer surrounds part of the first and second layers and is secured by heat to an innerliner of the tire.
SENSING IN TIRES FOR ROLLING RESISTANCE
Described herein are systems and methods for determination of rolling resistance from a sensor or sensors in a tire or tires for application in smart cars to provide feedback to interested parties, such as Departments of Transportation or tire manufacturers.
Tire tracking RFID label
Identification labels and their incorporation in rubber-based articles are described. The labels include RFID components and can be incorporated in tires. The labels can withstand the relatively harsh conditions associated with vulcanization.
