A single sheet-like belt 8b, from which a single tire component can be formed, is held on an outer circumferential surface of a winding cylinder 12. The sheet-like rubber member 8b, which is held by the winding cylinder 12, is removed from the winding cylinder 12 by rotation of a drum 22 and adhered to an outer circumferential surface of the drum 22, so as to manufacture a tire component 8c. At the time, the sheet-like belt 8b is moved from the winding cylinder 12 to the drum 22 via a removing roller 14 that is arranged above a common tangent Q between the drum 22 and the winding cylinder 12.

Tire carcass ply joining apparatus and method

A method forms a butt joint between ends of first and second plies and splices the first and second plies together. The method includes the steps of: positioning a first splice edge of a first ply at a first location; positioning a second splice edge of a second ply at a second location, the second splice edge being left bare; wrapping a gum strip around the first splice edge such that the first gum strip forms a U-shaped structure in section that allows the first gum strip to extend from a first planar side of the first ply over the first splice edge to a second opposite planar side of the first ply; not wrapping a gum strip around the second splice edge; placing the first splice edge in abutting relationship to the second splice edge; and stitching the first splice edge to the second splice edge such that stitches each extend from the first planar side of the first ply, through the gum strip, to the first planar side of the second ply.

AQUEOUS DIPPING COMPOSITION

The present invention relates to an aqueous dipping composition for coating a textile reinforcing material, comprising 4% to 50% by dry weight of at least one rubber latex, 0.1% to 10% by dry weight of at least one blocked isocyanate, 0.3% to 30% by dry weight of at least one wax, 0% to 6% by dry weight of at least one epoxy group-containing compound, and 0% to 15% by dry weight of at least one polymer with carboxylic acid functional groups, wherein the amounts in % by dry weight are based on the total weight of the aqueous dipping composition. The present invention relates to a use of such a composition, a process for coating a textile reinforcing material with this composition, a coated textile reinforcing material and a respective elastomeric article comprising the same.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PRODUCING AN ANNULAR MULTIAXIAL LAID FABRIC AND AN ANNULAR OBJECT PRODUCED THEREWITH

The invention relates to a method and a device for producing an annular multiaxial laid fabric and to an annular object produced therewith. The object of the invention is therefore to create a method and a device for forming a multiaxial laid fabric for annular structures which has no twisting or displacement of the thread layers. Furthermore, it should no longer be necessary to close a butt join or overlap separately to form a closed ring of the multiaxial laid fabric. This object is achieved in that at least a lower thread layer (2a) and an upper thread layer in the form of an endless thread array or an endless single thread, or in the form of thread-array sections or single-thread sections, are laid around the entire circumference of two mutually spaced ring elements (3) with differing thread orientations, and the first and upper thread layers (2a, 2b) are then fixed to each other at points.
