A tire comprises an inner surface defining and facing an inner hollow space, an outer surface pointing away from the inner hollow space. A method of processing the tire comprises identifying the position of a first feature on the outer surface and cleaning a surface portion of the inner surface of the tire, wherein the surface portion has a first predetermined position relative to the position of the first feature on the outer surface. A separate element is attached with its attachment surface to the surface portion, wherein a ratio of a size of the surface portion over a corresponding size of the attachment surface is smaller than 10.

Display assemblies as disclosed herein are configured for attachment with a vulcanized rubber article and are provided in the form of different material layers. Display assemblies generally comprise one or more display layers of elastomeric material configured to provide a desired display indicia, an intermediate layer formed from an elastomeric material different from that of the one or more display layers, and an adhesive layer wherein the intermediate layer is interposed between the adhesive layer and the one or more display layers. The one more display layers may be configured to act together or separately to provide a desired display indicia to provide a desired visual display or feature on the surface of the vulcanized rubber article, which may be a sidewall surface of a tire.

Display assemblies as disclosed herein are configured for attachment with a vulcanized rubber article and are provided in the form of different material layers. Display assemblies generally comprise one or more display layers of elastomeric material configured to provide a desired display indicia, an intermediate layer formed from an elastomeric material different from that of the one or more display layers, and an adhesive layer wherein the intermediate layer is interposed between the adhesive layer and the one or more display layers. The one more display layers may be configured to act together or separately to provide a desired display indicia to provide a desired visual display or feature on the surface of the vulcanized rubber article, which may be a sidewall surface of a tire.

The manufacturing method for an extruded rubber member includes extruding at least one type of rubber from a die, the method including the steps of inserting at least one thread into a flow channel of the at least one type of rubber, and embedding the at least one thread in a longitudinal direction of the extruded rubber member.

At least one opposing surface of a pair of gripping parts is provided with a contact member having a contact surface projecting toward an other opposing surface of the pair of gripping parts; the pair of gripping parts grip ranges in proximity to end surfaces in a state in which end surfaces project from the one opposing surface toward the other opposing surface; the total of end surface projection amounts of the end surfaces from the opposing surfaces is set to be a predetermined length larger than a separation distance between the opposing surfaces when the contact member is sandwiched between the opposing surfaces; and by bringing the contact member into a state of being sandwiched between the opposing surfaces, the movement of the gripping parts in proximity to each other is stopped and the end surfaces are joined together.

A method of preparing a tire including the steps of: providing a cured tire, the tire including a first bead, a second bead, a carcass layer extending from the first bead to the second bead, and an optional innerliner layer disposed interior to the carcass layer; applying a pair of reinforcing members to the carcass layer or to the optional innerliner layer, if present; and applying an air barrier composition to the pair of reinforcing members, and to a portion of the carcass layer or to a portion of the optional innerliner layer to thereby form an air barrier layer.
