Recyclable, high barrier sheet and tray
An improved sheet for making a three-dimensional article for holding food, such as a food tray, and a method of making a three-dimensional article. The sheet comprises a substrate and a laminate film. The laminate film may comprise a ceramic film and a copolymer layer. The copolymer layer can repair any cracks that occur in the ceramic film when the sheet is thermoformed. The food tray is considered a single material that is recyclable.

A multi-layer film structure for use in forming blister packaging. The multi-layer structure includes a first polymeric layer having a first surface and a second surface, the first polymeric layer comprising a metalized polyethylene teraphthalate, a second polymeric layer having a first surface and a second surface, the first surface of the second polymeric layer disposed adjacent the second surface of the first polymeric layer, the second polymeric layer comprising a cyclic olefin or a homopolymer of chlorotrifluoroethylene, and a third polymeric layer having a first surface and a second surface, the first surface of the third polymeric layer disposed adjacent the second surface of the second polymeric layer, the third polymeric layer comprising polypropylene or polyvinyl chloride. A method of making a multi-layer film structure and a packaging structure are also provided.
Co-extruded, biaxially oriented, matte HDPE films
Disclosed are compositions and methods for multilayer films, which, in one embodiment may comprise a core layer comprising at least 50 wt. % of high-density polyethylene. Further, the multilayer film may include a first skin layer comprising at least 80 wt. % of high-density polyethylene, and a second skin layer comprising either: (i) one or more low-density polyethylenes; or (ii) one or more polypropylene-based copolymers. The multilayer film may be oriented in at least one direction.

The invention relates a process for the preparation of a bonded structure (4) comprising at least a first plastic part (1) having a first bonding surface (1a), said process comprising the step of a) treating at least part of a first bonding surface of said first plastic part with a flame of a propane-comprising gas, said propane-comprising gas being propane or a mixture comprising at least 50 wt. % of propane based on the weight of the propane-comprising gas with one or more gases selected from the group consisting of methane, ethane, butane, pentane, and hexane, wherein, during treatment with a flame of the propane-comprising gas, a flame is produced by burning a mixture of air and the propane-comprising gas, wherein the gas-to-air ratio is chosen such that the propane gas to oxygen volume ratio is equal to or less than 1:5.01, for example less than 1:5.00 and preferably at least 3.50 to obtain a first plastic part having a flame-treated first bonding surface.

MULTI-LAYER COEXTRUSION HEAD AND METHOD FOR MAKING A MULTI-LAYER PRODUCT
Described is a coextrusion head (1) comprising a plurality of infeeds (11, 12, 13, 14, 15) for fluid products, an inner joining space (16, 17), positioned downstream of said infeeds and communicating with them by means of respective delivery ducts (110, 120, 130, 140, 150) so as to allow flows of products to converge there and an outfeed (18) for the final multi-layer product, positioned downstream of the inner joining space (16, 17). In the head (1) there is a central delivery duct (110), provided for receiving a first flow of product and two lateral delivery ducts (120, 130), designed to receive, respectively, a second flow of product and a third flow of product. The head (1) also comprises adjustable narrowing means (31, 32), acting at least in the central delivery duct (110) and designed to vary a respective opening, to allow adjustment of the relative position of the first flow relative to a composite secondary flow defined by the joining of the first, second and third flow in the joining space (16) .

FIBER-REINFORCED RESIN HOLLOW MOLDED BODY AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME
A fiber reinforced resin hollow molded body 30 in which a resin-integrated fiber sheet is used. The resin-integrated fiber sheet includes unidirectional continuous fibers that are spread fibers of a continuous fiber group and arrayed unidirectionally in parallel, and thermoplastic resin that is present at least on a surface of the unidirectional continuous fibers. In the hollow molded body, in a state where the resin-integrated fiber sheet or a plurality of the resin-integrated fiber sheets 30 are stacked, the resin-integrated fiber sheet or the plurality of resin-integrated fiber sheets are wound to produce a wound body having an overlapping portion. The thermoplastic resin is impregnated in the unidirectional continuous fibers. The resin-integrated fiber sheet or the plurality of resin-integrated fiber sheets are consolidated.
