Pulp Bottle with Molded Interior Lining and Methods of Making Same
A container with a shell and lining within its interior is provided. The shell and/or lining can be fabricated from a biodegradable, recyclable, and/or compostable material. The lining can be configured as a parison, a preform, and/or other mass that is capable of being expanded. The lining can be inserted within a cavity of the shell and caused to expand to form an expanded state. The lining, in the expanded state, may be used as a barrier, preventing beverage that is inserted into the container from making contact with the shell. The lining, in the expanded state, may be configured to maintain contact with an inner surface of the shell so as to provide adequate shock absorption. The lining can be a thin film, providing an overall thinner construction and/or an overall lighter construction can be used to fabricate the container.
Polypropylene composition and thermoformed sheet thereof
The present invention relates to a polypropylene composition for thermoforming comprising: from 50% by weight to at most 90% by weight of a polypropylene A, wherein polypropylene A is a polypropylene random copolymer, based on the total weight of the polypropylene composition; and from 10% by weight to at most 50% by weight of a polypropylene B, wherein polypropylene B is a polypropylene homopolymer, based on the total weight of the polypropylene composition; wherein the melt flow index of polypropylene B is at most 1.0 g/10 min, as measured according to the method of standard ISO 1133, condition M, at 230° C. and under a load of 2.16 kg; and wherein the ratio of the melt flow index of polypropylene A to the melt flow index of polypropylene B is at least 80.
Method for connecting two unitary elements of a conduit for transporting fluids by means of a sleeve
A method of connecting together two unit elements (4, 4′) of a fluid transport pipe, each unit pipe element being covered in an outer insulating coating (6, 6′) made of a thermoplastic material, with the exception of an end portion that does not have an outer insulating coating. The method includes: a step of welding together two abutting unit pipe elements; a step of positioning an annular sleeve (14) around a cut-back and in part around the outer insulating coatings of the two unit pipe elements, the sleeve being made of a thermoplastic material; a step of fastening the sleeve in sealed manner by weld bonding on the outer insulating coatings; and a step of applying an external pressure on the sleeve to enable it to be deformed elastically and match the shape of the respective end portions of the two unit pipe elements.
Polypropylene for additive manufacturing (3D printing)
A process and printer systems for printing a three-dimensional object are disclosed. The processes may include providing a non-crosslinked peroxydicarbonate-branched polypropylene filament, flake, pellet, or powder adapted for one of a fused deposition modeling (ARBURG Plastic Freeforming) printer or a fused filament fabrication printer; and printing the non-crosslinked peroxydicarbonate-branched polypropylene with fused deposition modeling (ARBURG Plastic Freeforming) printer or a fused filament fabrication printer to form a three-dimensional article. The printer systems may include one or more print heads for printing a polymer provided in filament, powder, flake, or pellet form to form a three-dimensional article; and one or more feed systems for providing a non-crosslinked peroxydicarbonate-branched polypropylene to a respective print head.
Heating device for the temperature conditioning of preforms, and method for operating a heating device of this kind
A method for operating a heating device for thermal conditioning preforms made of a thermoplastic material in which each respective one of the preforms is prepared for a subsequent forming process during which the preforms are formed into containers with a forming fluid fed under pressure into the preforms. The heating device is operated in at least a first operating state and a second operating state. The second operating state is a startup phase of the heating device during which a temperature of the heating device approaches an equilibrium temperature of a thermodynamically stable equilibrium state of the heating device. The first operating state is a continuous operation state following the startup phase. The second operating state is operated with a heating output value that varies over time. Furthermore, the invention relates to a heating device and a machine having a heating device, which are configured to implement the method.
POROUS MEMBRANE WIPES AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURE AND USE
A microporous membrane wipe and a method of using such microporous membrane wipe are disclosed. The microporous membrane wipe may be uniaxially or biaxially oriented microporous membrane. The uniaxially or biaxially oriented microporous membrane may be made from one or more block and/or impact copolymers of polyethylene and/or polypropylene. A method of using such a microporous membrane wipe for skin oil blotting is also disclosed. Further disclosed is a method of using such a microporous membrane wipe for cleaning a surface for the removal of fingerprints, smudges and the like, where such surfaces may include, for example, eyeglasses, electronics, cell phones, displays, optical devices, camera lenses, microscope lenses and other precision optics, and/or the like.
Injection Stretch Blow-Molding (ISBM) Enhancement for Semi-Crystalline Polyolefin Containers Utilizing Alicyclic Polyolefins
An injection stretch blow-molded (ISBM) container prepared by way of injection molding a tubular preform followed by reheating and concurrently stretching and blow-molding the heated preform into the container. The container and preform comprise from 70 wt. % to 97.5 wt. % of a semi-crystalline polyolefin composition comprising one or polymers selected from polyethylene polymers and polypropylene polymers and from 2.5 wt. % to 30 wt. % of an alicyclic polyolefin composition, wherein the alicyclic polyolefin composition has a glass transition temperature, Tg, of from 60° to 145° C.
