Process for joining overlapping thermoplastic membrane components
A method of joining overlapping thermoplastic roofing membrane components in which a first thermoplastic roofing membrane component and a second roofing membrane component are positioned in overlapping relationship between a pair of complementary molding surfaces. Heat is generated in a metal substrate and transferred by thermal conduction from the metal substrate to overlapping portions of the first and second thermoplastic roofing membrane components to locally melt and coalesce a portion or more of the thermoplastic material of the first thermoplastic roofing membrane component and a portion or more of the thermoplastic material of the second thermoplastic roofing membrane component. The molten thermoplastic material of the first and second thermoplastic roofing membrane components forms a zone of coalesced thermoplastic material that, upon cooling, forms a solid weld joint.

A SYNTHETIC COMPOSITE AS BONE GRAFT AND THE METHOD THEREOF
The invention is for a synthetic composite for a bone graft comprising of: bio inert polymers comprising poly lactic acid, poly D, L-Lactic acid; bio active polymer consisting of polypropylene fumarate or diester of fumaric acid and propylene diol (1,2-Diol); and a bioactive inorganic component consisting of a metal fluorophosphates glass powder wherein the amount of the bioactive components is upto 30% (w/w) of the composite. The bioactive inorganic metal fluorophosphates glass powder of the composite is one of zinc fluorophosphate, magnesium fluorophosphate or silver fluorophosphate. The invention pertains to the method of making the scaffold, and also the 3D printed scaffold.
Reduced density thermoplastics
The instant application discloses, among other things, ways to manufacture reduced density thermoplastics. A rapid foaming process which may create a polymer product by saturating thermoplastic sheet or preforms, heating, and then forming into final shape, is described. The polymer product may include an integral solid skin. This method may be utilized with any thermoplastic. The material handling, saturation methods, and end products are also described.
Device and method for producing a particle foam part
The invention relates to an apparatus and a method for the production of a particle foam part, wherein a mould cavity (5) is filled with foam particles, the foam particles are welded into a particle foam part and the particle foam part is cooled down in the mould. The foam particles are heated by means of a ceramic body (17) with integrated resistance heating and by the application of electromagnetic waves.
Absorbent laminated material
Absorbent laminated materials that include two spunbond nonwoven layers with a cellulose layer arranged in between the spunbond nonwoven layers are disclosed. The different layers of the absorbent laminated material are bonded through an ultrasonic treatment, and can further undergo an embossing step. In addition, the absorbent laminated materials may be used as disposable wiping products, among other applications.

COMPOSITE FILAMENT FOR 3D PRINTING OF RESORBABLE BONE SCAFFOLDS
Disclosed are composite filaments for 3D printing. The filaments typically have high strength, an appropriate resorption rate, and high biocompatibility. The filaments generally contain a matrix formed of a blend containing a bioresorbable polymer and an inorganic component. The filaments can be used to produce customized scaffolds for repairing bone defects following implantation in the site of the defect. The shape and size of the scaffold can be configured to fit in and conform to the bone defect. The scaffolds are especially useful in repairing critical sized bone defect, such as a critical sized bone defect in a weight-bearing long bone.
MOLD FOR EXTRUSION MOLDING, PLASTIC MANUFACTURING APPARATUS, AND PLASTIC MANUFACTURING METHOD
A mold for extrusion molding includes an extrusion port and a plastic channel. The extrusion port is configured to extrude a plastic composition containing at least one kind of plastic. The plastic channel is configured to cause the supplied plastic composition to flow to the extrusion port. The plastic channel includes a first channel, a second channel, and a third channel. The second channel is connected to the first channel and has a channel cross-sectional area gradually decreasing downstream in a flowing direction of the plastic composition. The third channel is connected to the second channel and configured to cause the plastic composition to flow to the extrusion port. The third channel has a channel cross-sectional area gradually decreasing downstream in the flowing direction of the plastic composition.
RESIN COMPOSITION AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING RESIN MOLDED PRODUCT
An object of the present invention is to provide a technique capable of reducing the hydrolysis of a biodegradable resin at the time of molding with respect to a biodegradable resin-containing resin composition having a high water content. Provided is a resin composition comprising: a biodegradable resin and heavy calcium carbonate particles in a mass ratio of 50:50 to 10:90, in which 0.5% by mass or more and 3.5% by mass or less of calcium oxide is comprised relative to the resin composition, and 0.2% by mass or more of water is comprised relative to the resin composition.
