This invention relates to a monolithic molded part comprising multiple cohesive matrices for the simultaneous diffusion of volatile active ingredients, in contact or separately, wherein said multiple matrix is formed by the combination of several simple matrices, characterized in that each of said simple matrices is capable of containing one or more active ingredient(s), each active ingredient having its own release kinetics.

METHOD FOR PRODUCING ANTIMICROBIAL NANOFILMS PACKAGING COVER BASED ON TITANIUM NANO-DIOXIDE THROUGH EXTRUSION FOR EXTENSION OF FOOD SHELF-LIFE

The present invention relates to a method for producing antimicrobial nanofilms packaging cover based on Titanium nano-dioxide through extrusion for extension of food shelf-life. The method comprises the steps of providing nano-silver and nano-clay particles which are antimicrobial agents to enhance mechanical properties of packaging in food industry; and evaluating effects of nano clay and nano silver packaging on the growth of these bacteria within 6 days of shelf life keeping at 4 C. The silver and clay nanoparticles are analyzed using AFM, SEM, FESEM, EDX, FTIR and TEM, wherein the size of clay and silver nanoparticles are measured 15 nm and 35 nm, respectively.

Method For 3-D Printing A Custom Bone Graft
20200167514 · 2020-05-28 ·

A method for producing bone grafts using 3-D printing is employed using a 3-D image of a graft location to produce a 3-D model of the graft. This is printed using a 3-D printer and a printing medium that produces a porous, biocompatible, biodegradable material that is conducive to osteoinduction. For example, the printing medium may be PCL, PLLA, PGLA, or another approved biocompatible polymer. In addition such a method may be useful for cosmetic surgeries, reconstructive surgeries, and various techniques required by such procedures. Once the graft is placed, natural bone gradually replaces the graft.

METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING ANTIBACTERIAL COPPER NANOFIBER BY INJECTION MOLDING
20240017454 · 2024-01-18 ·

A method for manufacturing an antibacterial copper nanofiber by injection molding includes the following steps: raw material mixing operation: mixing dry copper nanopowder having an averaged particle size of not more than 48 nm with a fiber raw material to form a mixed raw material; and injection molding operation, including plasticization, filling, pressurization, cooling, ejection, and product injection. Finally, an antibacterial copper nanofiber injection product is obtained. Or in the raw material mixing operation, after mixing a dry copper nanopowder having an averaged particle size of not more than 48 nm with a fiber raw material to form a mixed raw material, mixing and granulating operation can be added, including heating, blending, extruding and granulating the mixed raw material through a mixer, and then melting to form a plurality of antibacterial copper nano-masterbatches; and then injection molding operation is performed to obtain an antibacterial copper nanofiber injection product.

Built-in antimicrobial plastic resins and methods for making the same

A built-in and process-adaptive formulation of antimicrobial commodity thermoplastic resins with mixed compositions comprising of a polymer, a backbone linker, and a non-labile antifouling and biocompatible coupling agent which is melt-processable and enabled to be manufactured into finished products in the form of solid, monolith, tube, composite, fiber, film, sheet and varnish without the prerequisite of biocides or antimicrobial additives is disclosed. The said formulation is adapted to thermoforming and thermal curing processes including but not limited to melt compounding, spinning, extrusion, molding, compression foaming and drawing. The antimicrobial property is attributed to the persistent formation of a non-stick bacteria-repellent tethered layer in which the antifouling component of the said formulation is heterogeneously phase separated and/or surface migrated to the surface after product forming in order to minimize adsorption and/or colonization of bacteria.
