A fluid replenishment circuit is positioned between a dialysis fluid supply passage and a blood circuit and is provided with an online port to and from which a fluid replenishment passage is attached and detached. The online port has is provided with a first bypass passage and an open/close valve that allow a space formed between an inner port and an outer port to communicate with the dialysis fluid supply passage. In a fluid draining procedure, the open/close valve on the bypass passage is opened, and fluid in a dialysis fluid retrieval passage is discharged by a water removal pump. As a result, air flows into the first bypass passage through the outer port, and is further caused to flow via the dialysis fluid supply passage through a replenishment fluid supply passage into the blood circuit so that fluid is removed from the fluid replenishment passage.

Devices and methods for removing cancer cells from bloodstream during cancer metastasis
12465672 · 2025-11-11 · ·

Devices for monitoring cancerous cells in blood of a patient that are preloaded with a marker and a magnetic agent and removing them are provided. The device comprises a tray onto which blood withdrawn from the patient flows before returned to the patient; a magnet placed at a distance from the tray so that the blood on the tray is within a magnetic field of the magnet and the cancerous cells that are preloaded with the magnetic agent are forced to move from the blood on the tray towards the magnet. A detector configured to detect the marker in the cancerous cells in the blood on the tray is provided as well and a filter that is placed between the tray and the magnet so as to capture the cancerous cells that are forced to move towards the magnet and remove them from the blood of the patient.

Treating circulating cell clusters

Circulating cell clusters found in subjects with cancer, autoimmune conditions, infections, or other diseases, can be trapped or disrupted by filtering them with an intra- or extracorporeal device and, in some cases, exposing them to a substance, such as enzyme, that reduces intercellular adhesion.

Cannula and Balloon System for Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation
20250375596 · 2025-12-11 ·

The present disclosure provides for a cannula and balloon system for extracorporeal membrane oxygenation. The system may comprise one or more cannula, one or more insertion mechanism, and one or more balloon cuff. The method may comprise venous-venous or venous-arterial insertion into one or more blood vessels or chambers of the heart. The balloon cuff may allow fluid flow to avoid oxygenated blood restriction to a region of the body for the cannula insertion duration. One or both the balloon cuff and dual cannula may prevent occlusion, recirculation, and mixing of oxygenated and deoxygenated blood. When there is a dual cannula, the cannula may comprise a reinfusion cannula and a drainage cannula. A reinfusion cannula may bypass one or more chambers of the heart. When the system comprises more than one cannula, the cannulae may be joined via a cannula connection mechanism.

DEVICE FOR QUANTITATIVELY DETERMINING THE FEED OF OXYGEN INTO BLOOD IN AN OXYGENATOR

A device for determining a feed (V.sub.O2) of oxygen into blood in an oxygenator comprises a gas flow sensor adapted to detect a flow (flow.sub.STPin, flow.sub.STPout) of an oxygen-containing gas mixture flowing through the oxygenator; and a gas sensor unit adapted to measure an oxygen content (p.sub.O2in) of the oxygen-containing gas mixture flowing into the oxygenator and an oxygen content (p.sub.O2out) of a gas mixture flowing out of the oxygenator. The device is designed to determine a discrepancy, in particular a difference, between the oxygen content (p.sub.O2in) of the oxygen-containing gas mixture flowing into the oxygenator and the oxygen content (p.sub.O2out) of the gas mixture flowing out of the oxygenator, and to determine the feed (V.sub.O2) of oxygen into blood flowing through the oxygenator from the difference thus determined and the flow (flow.sub.STPin, flow.sub.STPout) measured by the gas flow sensor.

BLOOD PURIFICATION DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PRIMING BLOOD CIRCULATION PASSAGE

A supply port is provided in a dialysate supply passage and a discharge port is provided in a dialysate discharge passage. A supply passage is branched on an upstream side of a blood pump in the arterial passage, and a venous passage connection part (branch passage) is provided in the supply passage to which a venous passage can be connected. When priming, with the supply passage connected to the supply port, the arterial passage to the discharge port, and the venous passage to the branch passage of the supply passage, respectively, the dialysate supply device and the blood pump are actuated to simultaneously cause dialysate to flow through the arterial passage and the venous passage to prime the blood circulation passage including a blood purifier and a blood circuit.

THERAPEUTIC COMPOSITIONS FOR VIRAL-ASSOCIATED DISEASE STATES AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING SAME

A method comprising obtaining a bodily fluid from a subject; contacting the bodily fluid with an adsorbent material comprising a synthetic carbon particle (SCP) to produce a first filtrate having a level of disease mediators (y); contacting the first filtrate with an adsorbent material comprising the SCP and an anion exchange resin where the ratio of SCP to anion exchange resin is in a range from about 0.1:100 to 100:0.1 to produce a second filtrate; contacting the second filtrate with an adsorbent material comprising the SCP and a cation exchange resin where the ratio of SCP to cation exchange resin is in a range from about 0.1:100 to 100:0.1 to produce a third filtrate.

SYSTEM AND METHODS FOR DIALYSIS EFFLUENT POWER HARVESTING

Provided herein are embodiments for a wearable or portable dialysis system. The wearable or portable dialysis system includes a dialysis machine including a pump to move dialysate through a filtering component thereof. The wearable or portable dialysis system further includes an electric circuit in communication with the dialysis machine for controlling electronic components of the dialysis machine. The filtering component includes an electricity generation and purification membrane (EPM) in a filtering path of the filtering component, and the EPM is coupled to the electric circuit. In response to dialysate moving through the filtering path of the filtering component, electricity is generated by the EPM and provided to the electric circuit to power the electronic components of the dialysis machine.
