METHOD FOR CREATING A TRANSITION FROM AN EDGE OF AN ADD-ON PART MOUNTED ON THE OUTER SURFACE OF A ROTOR BLADE
20220186706 · 2022-06-16 ·

A method for creating a transition from an edge of an add-on part mounted on the outer surface of a rotor blade, including the steps: delimiting an application area on the rotor blade surface and the add-on part to be covered by a sealant compound with a thin and smooth masking tape; dispensing of the sealant on the application area; distribution of the sealant; removing the masking tape; and smoothening of a sealant transition step with a flexible tool, is provided.

A wind turbine rotor blade is also provided.

METHOD AND OBJECTS FORMED FROM POLYUREA POLYMERS
20220184859 · 2022-06-16 ·

Methods for forming large molded objects from polyurea coatings that are exceptionally durable, rigid and strong enough to remain intact under all conditions involving structural integrity, even without structural reinforcements. Such methods comprise providing a mold or substrate surface onto which the molded object will be formed. A first gelcoat layer is formed upon the mold, upon which is formed a second epoxy/polyurea coating, followed by a third polyurea coating mixed with chopped fiberglass, and a final fourth epoxy/polyurea coating. The combined coatings are allowed to cure and then removed from the mold. Such methods are exceptionally effective in the manufacture of pools and spas.

Polymer processing additive, compositions, and methods

A poly(oxyalkylene) polymer and a metal salt of a carboxylic acid, sulfonic acid, or alkylsulfate, in combination are useful as a polymer processing additive synergist. Polymer processing additive compositions, homogeneously catalyzed olefin compositions, and other extrudable polymer compositions including a poly(oxyalkylene) polymer and a metal salt of a carboxylic acid, sulfonic acid, or alkylsulfate are disclosed. Methods of reducing melt defects during the extrusion of a thermoplastic polymer, which may be a homogeneously catalyzed polyolefin, are also disclosed.

Polypropylene-based resin composition and molded article

Disclosed are: a polypropylene-based resin composition comprising 100 parts by mass of polypropylene-based resin (A) (provided that, when the polypropylene-based resin includes other resins and/or inorganic filler, the total amount of the polypropylene-based resin and other resins and/or inorganic filler is taken as 100 parts by mass), 0.80 to 5.0 parts by mass of on or more types of aluminum flakes (B) having an average particle size of 5 to 90 μm, and 0.005 to 0.06 parts by mass of carbon black (C); and a molded article obtained by injection-molding this polypropylene-based resin composition. The polypropylene-based resin composition and the molded article obtained from this are excellent in a flip-flop metallic feeling, a heavy luxury feeling, light resistance and a feeling of luminance.

COMPOSITE MATERIAL WITH ENHANCED THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY AND METHOD FOR FABRICATION THEREOF

A composite member and a method for manufacturing polymeric material article are presented. The method comprising providing polymeric resin, providing selected amount of filler material, mixing filler material into the polymeric matrix to provide a polymeric filler mixture, compressing said polymeric filler mixture under pressure in the range of up to 350 bar, and curing said polymeric filler mixture to provide stable polymeric material. The resulting composite member is typically characterizes by having average filler to filler particle gap below 20 nm and substantially does not have air voids therein.

Injection-molded physical unclonable function

A physical unclonable function is disclosed. A highly random distribution of magnetic particles within a thermoplastic polymer is created by magnetizing magnetizable particles in solid pellet feed material before feeding the solid pellets into an injection molding machine. Other devices and processes are disclosed.

Polymer composite material having oriented electrically and thermally conductive pathways

A method of forming a polyolefin-perovskite nanomaterial composite which contains oriented electrically and thermally conductive pathways. The method involves milling a polyolefin with particles of a perovskite nanomaterial, molding to forma composite plate, and subjecting the composite plate to an AC voltage. The AC voltage forms oriented electrically and thermally conductive pathways by partial dielectric breakdown of the composite. The presence of the oriented electrically and thermally conductive pathways gives the polyolefin-perovskite nanomaterial electrical and thermal conductivity and dielectric permittivity higher than the polyolefin alone.

FOAMED SHEET, PRODUCT, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING FOAMED SHEET

A foamed sheet including: a polylactic acid; and a filler, wherein the foamed sheet has a compressive stress of 0.2 Mpa or less when the cushioning coefficient of the foamed sheet is 10 or less; and wherein the foamed sheet has a puncture strength of 2 N or more when the sheet thickness of the foamed sheet is 2 mm.

WIRE GRID STRUCTURE AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR, AND PROJECTION SCREEN

A wire grid structure and a manufacturing method therefor, and a projection screen are provided. The manufacturing method includes: extruding a molten mixed material body in a melt extruder to a casting roll to form a casting piece; patterning the casting piece by means of an impression roll to form a precursor having a preset wire grid structure pattern, where the precursor is wound on the impression roll and has a first dimension in a height direction; stretching the precursor by a first group of stretching rolls and a second group of stretching rolls in two opposite directions along a direction perpendicular to the height direction to form the wire grid structure, a preset distance being configured between the first group of stretching rolls and the second group of stretching rolls. The wire grid structure has a second dimension in the height direction that is greater than the second dimension.
