20210138690 · 2021-05-13 ·

Apparatuses, methods, and systems are disclosed for a spacer for a manufactured structure. A spacer includes a plurality of legs where each leg includes an elongate member that extends from a proximal end to a distal end. The proximal end of each leg is connected to one another at a central point such that the legs are spaced radially about the central point and substantially equidistant from one another. The distal ends of the legs include a material that has a predefined melting point such that the distal ends attach to a surface in contact with the distal ends responsive to the predefined melting point being reached during a molding process.

Use of sacrificial agents in manufacture of gypsum wallboard

The present invention relates to the use of sacrificial agents to counteract the deleterious impact of gypsum contaminants on the effectiveness of certain stucco additives, particularly, water reducing agents and foaming agents, in a stucco slurry used to make gypsum wallboard.

Method and apparatus for extrusion of thermoplastic handrail

A method and apparatus for extrusion of an article is provided. A die assembly can apply flows of thermoplastic material to an array of reinforcing cables to form a composite extrusion. A slider fabric can be bonded to one side of the composite extrusion. After exiting the die assembly, the slider fabric can act to support the extrudate as it passes along an elongate mandrel, which can cause the base of the slider fabric to change shape from a flat profile to the final internal profile of the article. The extruded article can then be cooled to solidify the material. The die can include cooling for the slider fabric and means for promoting penetration of the thermoplastic into reinforcing cables.

Method of manufacture of electrical wire and cable having a reduced coefficient of friction and required pulling force

A process for manufacturing finished wire and cable having reduced coefficient of friction and pulling force during installation, includes providing a payoff reel containing at least one internal conductor wire; supplying the at least one internal conductor wire from the reel to at least one extruder; providing the least one extruder, wherein the at least one extruder applies an insulating material and a polymerized jacket composition over the at least one internal conductor wire, wherein the polymerized jacket composition comprises a predetermined amount by weight of nylon; and at least 3% by weight of a silica providing a cooling device for lowering the temperature of the extruded insulating material and the polymerized jacket composition and cooling the insulating material and the polymerized jacket composition in the cooling device; and, reeling onto a storage reel the finished, cooled, wire and cable for storage and distribution.

IV membrane attachment systems and methods

An intravenous delivery system may have a liquid source containing a liquid, tubing, and an anti-run-dry membrane positioned such that the liquid, flowing form the liquid source to the tubing, passes through the anti-run-dry membrane. The anti-run-dry membrane may be positioned within an exterior wall of a drip unit, and may be secured to a seat of the exterior wall by an attachment component. The attachment component may have various forms, such as a secondary exterior wall that cooperates with the exterior wall to define a drip chamber, a washer positioned such that the anti-run-dry membrane is between the washer and the seat, and an adhesive ring formed of a pressure sensitive adhesive and secured to the anti-run-dry membrane and the seat via compression. Interference features may protrude inward from the exterior wall or outward from the anti-run-dry membrane to help keep the anti-run-dry membrane in place.

Roller Bearing Seal Case

In one aspect, a seal case is provided for a roller bearing assembly having a central axis. The seal case includes an annular first end section including a rim configured to engage an outer ring, an intermediate section including a radial wall extending inwardly from the first end section and an axial wall extending axially away from the radial wall and the first end section, and an annular second end section extending radially inward from the axial wall of the intermediate section. The seal case further includes an insert of the first end section made of a first material. The first end section and the radial wall of the intermediate section include a second material joined to the insert. The first material of the insert may be selected to provide improved durability and/or to resist expansion and contraction of the first end section caused by changes in temperature.

Skin-bonded threaded inserts, sandwich panels including the same, and related methods
11850810 · 2023-12-26 · ·

Skin-bonded threaded inserts may be installed within a sandwich panel by curing the insert in place as the sandwich panel is cured. Skin-bonded threaded inserts may include a collar that is transitioned between a raised position and a compressed position during installation of the skin-bonded threaded insert in the sandwich panel, due to compression of the sandwich panel during curing. Skin-bonded threaded inserts may include one or more flanges that engage one or more skins of the sandwich panel. Such flanges may be positioned between two skins, or between the core and a skin of the sandwich panel to secure the sandwich panel in place within the sandwich panel. Skin-bonded threaded inserts may be positioned within a sandwich panel without the use of potting compound and may engage with the skins of the sandwich panel, rather than relying on adherence to the core for sufficient pull-out and shear strength.

Metal-resin composite material, method for producing the same, and aluminum substrate having aluminum oxide coating

A metal-resin composite material including an aluminum substrate having an aluminum oxide coating and a resin bonded to the aluminum substrate through the aluminum oxide coating, wherein the aluminum oxide coating has a porous surface layer in which columns with an average height of 10 to 100 nm are arranged in a dispersed state, an average value of sums of cross-sectional areas of the columns in randomly sampled 400 nm square visual fields of the porous surface layer is 8000 to 128000 nm.sup.2, an average value of sums of circumferential lengths of cross-sections of the columns in randomly sampled 400 nm square visual fields of the porous surface layer is 1000 to 27000 nm, and an average value of numbers of the columns in randomly sampled 400 nm square visual fields of the porous surface layer is 10 to 430.

Apparatus and method for modifying a geometry of a turbine part

An apparatus for modifying the geometry of at least one part of a turbine can include a shell assembly 3 that includes an outer shell that is shaped to modify the shape of a pre-existing element of a turbine. The outer shell 8 of the shell assembly 3 can be composed of a fiber-reinforced polymeric material and can at least partially define an inner cavity. The outer shell 8 can be bonded to a structure to modify the geometrical shape of that structure. Thereafter, a polymer casting 12 can be injected into the inner cavity via at least one injection port attached to the shell assembly. In some embodiments, one or more stiffeners 9 and/or a core 10 can be positioned within the inner cavity to help improve the bonding of the polymer casting 12 to the shell 2 and/or improve a structural property of the apparatus.

Binder film for a fiber optic cable

A fiber optic cable includes a cable core of core elements and a protective sheath surrounding the core elements, an armor surrounding the cable core, the armor comprising a single overlap portion when the fiber optic cable is viewed in cross-section, and a jacket surrounding the armor, the jacket having at least two longitudinal discontinuities extruded therein.
