MESH ELECTRODE FOR CARDIAC RESYNCHRONIZATION THERAPY, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR

The present invention relates to a mesh electrode for cardiac resynchronization therapy, and a manufacturing method therefor. More specifically, the present invention relates to: a mesh electrode for cardiac resynchronization therapy, formed from a wire composed of a first biocompatible rubber layer in which silver nanowires are dispersed, and a second biocompatible rubber layer famed so as to be adjacent to the first biocompatible rubber layer; and a manufacturing method therefor.

Printed article and a feedstock

The invention relates to a printed article and a feedstock for printing comprising a matrix forming material, in particular a polymeric material, and a filler material dispersed within the matrix forming material, in which the filler material comprises glass flakes. Glass flakes are characterized as having an aspect ratio of average diameter divided by average thickness greater than or equal to three. Selecting aspect ratio of glass flakes controls an orientation of glass flakes angled relative to a printed layer and formation of a depletion layer in a printed article. Technical effects of angled flakes include better adhesion between successive printed layers in 3D printing and a crack-stopping function. In a preferred embodiment the glass flakes comprise a conductive coating such that a printed article functions as a moisture sensor. Technical effects of a depletion layer include high moisture permeability and so a fast rate of change in electrical resistance due to moisture. A process of manufacturing a feedstock and a process of printing comprising a step of providing glass flakes are also disclosed.

Expandable, resin filled fastener, fastener system, and method for composite structures

A fastener for improved electrical contact with a composite structure and improved distribution of electric current to the composite structure. The fastener includes an elongated shaft having a first end with a head portion, a second end with a threaded portion, and a shaft body therebetween. At least one feed channel extends from an opening at the threaded portion, through the shaft body, and terminates proximal to the head portion. The shaft body radially expands upon pressure injection of a resin filler into the feed channel, when the fastener is installed in a corresponding fastener hole formed in the composite structure. Upon radially expanding, the outer surface of the shaft body makes contact with an inner hole surface of the corresponding fastener hole, resulting in the fastener providing electrical contact with the composite structure and providing distribution of electric current.

A method, system and device for securing conductive material on catheter elements for tissue sensing and cryogenic ablation. This may be used to deposit or embed conductive material onto or within polymeric materials. The method of manufacturing a balloon with conductive material may include extruding a polymeric material where the polymeric material includes embedded electrically conductive material. At least a portion of the polymeric material may be removed to expose at least a portion of the embedded electrically conductive material. The benefits may include allowing local bipolar recordings, contact assessment and ice thickness, and compatibility with 3-dimensional electroanatomical mapping systems.

CELLULOSE THIN FILM ELECTRODE COMPRISING SILVER NANO DENDRITE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME

Provided is a cellulose thin film electrode comprising a silver nano dendrite and a method of manufacturing the same. The method of manufacturing a cellulose thin film electrode comprising a silver nano dendrite comprises: forming the cellulose thin film electrode comprising a silver nano dendrite by soaking a reaction metal to which a thin film comprising silver nitrate and cellulose acetate is attached, in a reaction solution; and separating the cellulose thin film electrode from the reaction metal and then removing the reaction metal from the reaction solution.

A masterbatch may be blended with virgin polymer to add desired color or other properties to the virgin polymer prior to further processing. Methods and processes for producing an antimicrobial and/or antiviral polymeric masterbatch that may be used to add antimicrobial, antiviral and/or antifungal properties to a virgin polymer without significantly degrading the properties of the virgin polymer. The masterbatch may be extruded into pellets or formed into other particles for subsequent blending with the virgin polymer to add antimicrobial and antiviral properties to the polymeric materials.

The method includes a heat treatment after compounding the base polymer with the antimicrobial, antiviral and/or antifungal are compounded together. The heat treatment comprises heating the masterbatch blend to a temperature between the glass transition temperature and the melting point of the base polymer.

Silicone is placed between an upper die and an injection-pressing rubber-lid upper die, and the silicone injection passage is pressurized by the injection-pressing rubber-lid upper die. With this, the silicone is caused to flow into an injection port through the silicone injection passage. Then, sequentially through the injection port and the disc silicone-flow passage, the silicone is caused to flow toward an inner periphery of a silicone injection space. Further, the silicone flows between both circumferential sides of the silicone-flow deflection region. In this way, the silicone flows in a peculiar manner in conformity with a shape of the silicone-flow deflection region.
