A gas-permeable porous fluororesin membrane (4) made of a fluororesin is welded to a resin component (2) made of a thermoplastic resin using a welding horn (62) having a working surface (62p) adapted to be brought into contact with a work object and provided with a projection (62t). The working surface (62p) of the welding horn (62) is provided with, for example, a plurality of projections (62t). The plurality of projections (62t) may be arranged in a grid pattern on the working surface (62p).

Forming a rigid cable harness with a curable sleeve

Provided are methods for forming a rigid cable harness. An example method includes providing a curable sleeve comprising a curable compound, an adhesive, and a backing; wherein the curable adhesive tape has a longitudinal direction. The method further includes placing a plurality of cables on the sleeve in the longitudinal direction and wrapping the curable sleeve around the placed plurality of cables to form a cable harness, wherein the wrapping comprises wrapping the plurality of cables with the curable sleeve in the longitudinal direction. The method additionally includes positioning the cable harness into a desired shape and curing the curable compound of the cable harness to form the rigid cable harness, wherein the rigid cable harness has the desired shape.

Diaphragm, fluid control apparatus, and method of manufacturing diaphragm

A diaphragm having chemical resistance is disclosed. The diaphragm includes a membrane portion and a connection portion which enables connection of the membrane portion to another member. The membrane portion is formed of a first material having chemical resistance. The connection portion is formed of a second material whose main material is the same as that of the first material. The membrane portion and the connection portion are directly bonded together.

Method of fabricating an elongate medical device

An elongate medical device having an axis comprises an inner liner, a jacket radially outward of the liner, a braid comprising metal embedded in the jacket, a sensor, and at least one wire electrically connected to said sensor. The at least one wire is one of: embedded in the jacket and optionally disposed helically around the braid; extending longitudinally within a tube which extends generally parallel to the device axis and wherein the tube is embedded in the jacket; and disposed within a lumen, wherein the lumen extends longitudinally within the jacket.

Membrane for liquid-resistant devices and methods of making a membrane

A bracket assembly suitable for use with an electronic device is described. The bracket assembly may include a bracket body having a channel. The bracket assembly may further include a membrane embedded in the bracket body and designed to allow air, but not liquid (such as water), to pass through the membrane. The membrane may be at least partially surrounded by a membrane support molded to the membrane. The membrane and the membrane support may be disposed in a molding tool to receive a material used to mold the bracket body over the membrane and the membrane support. During the molding operation, the membrane support may act as a buffer to shield the membrane from temperature and pressure increases associated with the molding operation of the bracket body. The bracket assembly may improve the ability of the electronic device to prevent liquid ingress.
