The gas delivery system comprises a pressure generator having an inlet and an outlet, and a gas delivery flow path configured to communicate the gas between the pressure generator and a subject. The apparatus comprises a receiver body configured to receive the catalytic sensor such that the catalytic sensor removably couples with the receiver body, the receiver body located remotely from/outside the gas delivery flow path; a delivery port configured receive a portion of gas obtained from the gas delivery system that has passed through the pressure generator outlet and guide the received portion of gas toward the catalytic sensor; and a return port configured to exhaust the received portion of gas from the receiver body to the gas delivery system through the pressure generator inlet.

Surgical evacuation system with a communication circuit for communication between a filter and a smoke evacuation device

A surgical evacuation system for communication between a smoke evacuation device and a filter device through a communication circuit is provided. The surgical evacuation system can include a smoke evacuation device, which can include a pump and a motor operably coupled to the pump. The surgical evacuation system also can include a communication circuit and a filter device in communication with the smoke evacuation device through the communication circuit. The filter device can include a plurality of filter components including filter elements and filter sensors. The filter elements can include a fluid filter, particulate filter, and/or a charcoal filter. The communication circuit is configured to authenticate the filter components, verify a remaining life of at least one of the filter components, update parameters output from the filter components, and record errors output from the filter components.

ENDOSCOPE AIR/WATER FLUSH ADAPTOR AND METHOD

The present disclosure relates generally to the field of medical devices. In particular, the present disclosure relates to devices, systems and methods for air/water and flushing valves. For example, an endoscopic valve of the present disclosure may include a valve stem with contiguous first and second channels and with first and second ports formed within a sidewall of the valve stem. A series of seals may be disposed around an outer surface of the valve stem proximal and distal to the first and second ports. A gating member may be slidably disposed within the proximal channel and a valve insert may be disposed between the proximal and distal channels.

A treatment pad for applying heat, cooling or an antiseptic fluid to a subject's body surface incorporates a heat transfer member or a wound treatment member that is adapted to be held in place by application of a vacuum pressure. The heat transfer member may comprise an electrical resistance wire arranged in a serpentine pattern within a housing or, alternatively, may comprise interconnected heat transmissive tubing through which either a heated or a cooled fluid may be made to pass. Alternatively, the pad may contain a gel that can be cooled in a refrigerator or heated in a microwave oven and held in place on the subject's body by application of a vacuum to the assembly. The wound treatment member may comprise a gaseous antiseptic delivery pad held in place on the patient's body by use of a vacuum.

Surgical drape plume evacuator

A surgical drape plume evacuator includes a filter enclosure. An operating aperture disposed in the filter enclosure defines an area within the filter enclosure. A pressure source for creating at least one of a negative and positive air pressure in the filter enclosure. A fluid opening in the operating aperture connects the interior of the operating aperture to the interior of the filter enclosure.

FLUID EXCHANGE APPARATUS FOR EXPANDABLE PORT DELIVERY SYSTEM AND METHODS OF USE

A device for injecting a therapeutic agent into an ocular implant at least partially implanted in an eye including an injection lumen providing a pathway for injecting the therapeutic agent into the implant; an outlet lumen providing a pathway for pre-existing fluid in the ocular implant to exit the implant; and a collection chamber fluidly coupled to the outlet lumen that provides a first fluid outflow resistance and a second fluid outflow resistance. The first fluid outflow resistance is lower than a first resistance to outflow of the implant. The second fluid outflow resistance is greater than a force imparted onto the implant by intraocular pressure of the eye. Injection of therapeutic agent into the implant via the injection lumen causes the pre-existing fluid to exit the implant and enter the collection chamber via the outlet lumen and causes a second pre-existing fluid to displace from the collection chamber.
