Methods and apparatus for positioning a structure on a polymer layer

Methods and apparatus for positioning a structure on a polymer layer are described. A method may involve forming a first polymer layer. The method may further involve positioning, by an apparatus, a structure on the first polymer layer, where the apparatus comprises a rod having a first end that supports the structure as the structure is being positioned and a plunger located around the first end of the rod that presses the structure onto the first polymer layer as the structure is being positioned. And the method may involve forming a second polymer layer over the first polymer layer and the structure, where the first polymer layer defines a first side of a body-mountable device and the second polymer layer defines a second side of the body-mountable device opposite the first side.

A thin-walled polypropylene product display tube. The thin-walled polypropylene product display tube includes a tubular member having a closed end, an open end, an inner diameter and, between the closed end and the open end, a first outer diameter, the open end terminating in a flared portion having a second outer diameter, the tubular member having a wall thickness sufficient to yield a level of haze equal to or less than 8%. A process for forming a thin-walled polypropylene product display tube is also provided.

Ophthalmic device molds and related methods

Ophthalmic device molds made from a first portion of a molding surface formed from a first polymer and a second portion of the molding surface formed from a second polymer are described. When combined, the first portion and the second portion of the molding surface form an entire molding surface suitable for molding an entire surface, such as an anterior surface or a posterior surface of an ophthalmic device. Methods of manufacturing ophthalmic devices using these molds, including contact lenses, are also described.

HOT STAMPING APPARATUS AND HOT STAMPING METHOD

A hot stamping apparatus and a hot stamping method are for collectively decorating a plurality of decoration objects using a decorative sheet. In a hot stamping apparatus, an upper chamber and a lower chamber are partitioned by a partition sheet and pressing bodies, so that decorative sheet pieces can be used instead of a decorative sheet having a large area. Then, by using the decorative sheet pieces, local thermal deformation can be prevented. A usage amount of the decorative sheet can be reduced, and three-dimensional decoration can be implemented as needed on a portion requiring decoration.

To provide a mold for molding urethane foam capable of producing a urethane foam product without using a mold release agent, and a method for producing a urethane foam product using the same. The mold for molding urethane foam according to the present invention includes polypropylene mold materials 12, 13 that constitute upper and lower molding surfaces 16, 19 and are attached respectively to opposite surfaces of an upper mold frame 10 and a lower mold frame 11 that are openable and closable. The mold has excellent releasability and can be used to produce urethane foam products without using a mold release agent.

SILICONE HYDROGEL CONTACT LENSES

The present invention generally relates to silicone hydrogel contact lenses each inherently having, on lens surfaces, a relatively-high concentration of primary amino groups and to a method for producing the same. The invention is also related to silicone hydrogel contact lens precursors each inherently having, on lens surfaces, a relatively-high concentration of N-Boc-protected primary amino groups which can be easily and conveniently deprotected during lens extraction and/or hydration steps.

The present disclosure herein relates to a mold for manufacturing a slab. More particularly, the mold includes a first fabric layer, a first rubber layer disposed on the first fabric layer, a second fabric layer disposed on the first rubber layer, and a second rubber layer disposed on the second fabric layer. Here, the second rubber layer includes a base part and a frame part extending from an edge of the base part. Also, the base part and the frame part are integrated with each other.

VEHICLE TAILGATE STRUCTURE

A vehicle tailgate structure including a first panel portion including a composite material and a second panel portion overmolded onto the first panel portion, the first and second panel portions forming together a body portion, a transverse beam and side beams connecting the transverse beam to the body portion, wherein the transverse beam includes a hinge attachment portion configured to receive a hinge attachment part, wherein the first panel portion has a bent strip in the transverse beam, and wherein the bent strip is raised with respect to a remaining portion of the first panel portion.

Methods of Manufacturing Coated Contact Lenses

Methods are disclosed for manufacturing a coated contact lens that comprises a polymeric lens body comprising an acid group, a first coating polymer comprising a first amine group ionically bound to the acid group, and a second coating bound to the first coating polymer through covalent linkage between a nitrogen atom of a second amine group on the first coating polymer and an amine-reactive group of the second coating polymer. In some examples the lenses exhibit improved surface properties compared to uncoated lenses, such as reduced adhesion, increased wettability, increased lubricity, and/or increased lipid resistance.
