Solid drug tablets for implantable drug delivery devices

A drug dosage form is provided in the form of a solid tablet which is greater than 50% by weight the local anesthetic agent. The local anesthetic agent may be selected from the group consisting of an aminoamide, an aminoester, and a combination thereof. The drug tablet may be in the form of a mini-tablet which is greater than 70 wt % drug, with the balance being excipient. For example, the anesethetic agent may include lidocaine, in a salt or base form, combined with binder and lubricant excipients. Implantable drug delivery devices including the tablets are also provided, e.g., one or more of the drug tablets may be contained in a biocompatible housing. The drug tablets may be substantially cylindrical with flat end faces, and the device may have from 10 to 100 drug tablets aligned in the housing with the flat end faces of adjacent tablets abutting one another.

INHALER, PARTICULARLY ELECTRONIC CIGARETTE PRODUCT, AND COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCT

The invention relates to an inhaler, particularly an electronic cigarette product, comprising at least one evaporator device having at least one electrical evaporator for evaporating liquid supplied to the evaporator and an electronic control device for controlling and/or regulating the evaporator. A plurality of liquids are associated or can be associated with the evaporator device in such a way that the composition and/or the vapour production rate of the vapour/aerosol produced by the at least one evaporator can be adjusted and/or modified in a targeted manner, as the control device is designed for individual control of the at least one or each individual evaporator and/or for group control of the evaporators.

20210283388 · 2021-09-16 ·

The present invention relates to an active substance punch containing a pressing device for use in the intradermal application of active substances, wherein the pressing device has an applicator arranged on at least one support which has at least two or more rods, wherein an insert having a perforated plate with at least two holes which are filled level with a solid active substance, is provided, each hole corresponds to a rod and each rod releases the active substance suddenly.

DEVICES AND METHODS TO TREAT AND PREVENT DIVERTICULITIS
20210259864 · 2021-08-26 ·

A method of treating diverticulitis while maintaining the bioactivity of the diverticulum. The devices and methods include placing an endoscopic device within a colonic lumen relative to at least one diverticulum and inserting a plurality of particles into the at least one diverticulum. The plurality of particles can include magnetic particles, non-magnetic particles, or both. The plurality of particles can partially or totally occlude the diverticulum preventing unwanted material from entering the diverticulum. Additionally, the plurality of particles can include antimicrobial and therapeutic layers that can treat diverticulitis and prevent or minimize diverticulitis from occurring.

20210259865 · 2021-08-26 ·

A method of treating diverticulitis and the diverticulum by reducing the bioactivity of the diverticulum such that the diverticulum necroses. The devices and methods include placing an endoscopic device within a colonic lumen relative to at least one diverticulum and inverting the diverticulum. Once inverted, the diverticulum is collapsed and sealed. Overtime, the inverted diverticulum will necrose and be absorbed by the body or slough off and be expelled.

TRI-STATE COMPACT MODULAR INHALER, VAPORIZER
20210268210 · 2021-09-02 ·

A compact modular multifunctional inhalation device including a housing having an inlet port and an outlet port; a removable cartridge module adapted to seat within the housing, the cartridge including: a tray within the cartridge for holding a solid inhalant, a heating element mounted within the cartridge above and through the tray for heating the inhalant; and a removable modular electronic circuit adapted to seat within the housing to provide electrical current to the heating element. The heating element is a coil mounted within a chamber in thermal proximity to the solid inhalant. A quartz rod is mounted within the coil. A plunger is mounted within the cartridge to translate therein and compact the solid inhalant. In an alternative embodiment, dual channels and outlet ports are mounted in communication with an inlet port. In another embodiment, the cartridge is a split chamber cartridge with a split plunger mounted therein. Yet another embodiment features a measurement glass cover gauge mounted on the cartridge.

Systems and methods for endotracheal delivery of frozen particles

A treatment system delivers a breathing gas and frozen ice or other particles (FSP) to a bronchus of a lung of a patient in order to induce hypothermia. The breathing gas and the FSP are usually delivered through separate lumens. Clogging of an FSP lumen can be inhibited by heating and/or cooling of the lumen. The temperature of exhaled gases or a body temperature may be measured, and a controller can adjust the duration or rate at which the ice particles are delivered in order to control the patient's core temperature based on the measured temperature.

AEROSOL GENERATING DEVICE AND METHOD AND PROGRAM FOR OPERATING THIS

In order to provide an aerosol generating device (100A) which can infer or detect the state of at least one of a storage unit (116A) and a holding unit (130) of an aerosol source, this aerosol generation device includes: a storage unit which stores an aerosol source; a load (132) which atomizes the aerosol source by generating heat with power supplied from a power source (110); a holding unit which holds the aerosol source, supplied by the storage unit, in a manner in which the load can be heated; a sensor (112) which outputs values relating to the temperature of the load; and a control unit (106). The control unit, in response to an aerosol generation request, supplies power from the power supply to the load to carry out a power supply cycle, and infers or detects the state of at least one of the storage unit and the holding unit on the basis of at least a first value, which is an output value of the sensor in a first power supply cycle, which is a load in the first power supply cycle, and a second value, which is an output value of the sensor in a second power supply cycle, which is a single power supply cycle after the first power supply cycle, or a value derived from said output value and relating to behavior of the temperature of the load in the second power supply cycle.
