SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR APPLYING MOLDABLE MATERIAL TO A PIPE BY INJECTING MOLDABLE MATERIAL FROM A MOVABLE SUPPORT
A molding system for applying moldable material to a pipe. An elongate mold has at least one elongate mold member movable relative another elongate mold member between open and closed positions. The mold includes a pipe support that extends generally radially into a mold cavity along a support axis. An inner end of the support is configured to support the pipe in a molding position in which an annular portion of the mold cavity extends circumferentially around the pipe. After moldable material in the annular portion of the mold cavity can support the pipe, the support is withdrawn from the mold cavity by moving outwardly along the support axis. An injector selectively dispenses additional moldable material into a space formed by the support in the existing moldable material.
PROCESS FOR FORMING A REGISTER BOX THAT IS ADAPTABLE TO DUCTWORK OF AN HVAC SYSTEM
A process for forming a register box has a body formed with a plurality of side panels arranged in a generally square or rectangular configuration with a wall extending transverse to the side panels. A plurality of circular areas are cut into the wall. An expandable polymeric foam material is introduced into an interior of the body. The body is positioned in a fixture such that the wall is juxtaposed against a surface of the fixture. A plug is inserted into the interior of the body. The expandable polymeric foam material is expanded in the interior of the body such that the expandable polymeric foam material solidifies across the wall and around the plug. The plug is then removed from the body and the body is then removed from the fixture.

Provided are an article including a joint portion of a fluororesin having sufficient strength, and a method of producing the same. The article includes a joint portion including: a porous first layer of a first fluororesin; a second layer of a second fluororesin having a melting point lower than a melting point of the first fluororesin; and a non-porous third layer formed between the first layer and the second layer, the non-porous third layer including the first fluororesin.
Selective placement of advanced composites in extruded articles and building components
Embodiments herein include extruded articles, building components and methods of making the same. In an embodiment, an extruded article is included. The extruded article can include a body member including a first portion comprising a first composition, the first composition comprising a polymer resin. The extruded body member can also include a second portion comprising a second composition different than the first composition. The second composition can include a polymer resin, fibers, and at least one component selected from the group consisting of at least 1% by weight particles and at least 5 phr impact modifier. Other embodiments are also included herein.
THERMALLY INSULATED MEDIUM PIPES HAVING HFO-CONTAINING CELL GAS
The invention relates to a thermally insulated conduit pipe, comprising at least one medium pipe, at least one thermal insulation arranged around the medium pipe, and at least one outer jacket arranged around the thermal insulation, wherein the outer jacket possibly comprises a barrier made of plastic, and wherein the thermal insulation comprises a foam, the cell gas of which contains at least 10 vol% HFOs. Such conduit pipe has good insulating behavior, good environmental balance, and is easily producible.
POROUS STRUCTURE AND METHOD OF FABRICATING THE SAME
Provided are a porous structure and a method of fabricating the same. The porous structure may include an aluminum oxide containing at least one of fluorine and phenyl group. For example, the porous structure may be formed from alumina which contains fluorine or phenyl group. The method of fabricating the porous structure may include preparing an aluminum precursor including at least one of fluorine and phenyl group; providing a precursor solution by mixing the precursor with a solvent; and forming the porous structure having 3-dimensional network structure including the aluminum oxide containing the at least one of fluorine and phenyl group from the precursor solution through gelation.

METHOD FOR OBTAINING A HEAT-INSULATING AND SOUND-ABSORBING COMPOSITE PRODUCT, CO-MOULDING EQUIPMENT AND PRODUCT SO OBTAINED
A method for obtaining a heat-insulating and sound-absorbing composite product consisting in a fibrous material (MF) and in a polymeric material (MP) comprises the steps of positioning the fibrous material (MF) in a mould (1) equipped with a cavity that is only partially filled in a central zone thereof, overlapping polymeric material (MP) to the fibrous material (MF), approaching a counter-mould (3) provide with a counter-cavity (4) to the mould (1), expanding of the polymeric material (MP) by chemical reaction, forming the composite positioned between mold (1) and counter-mould (3), removing the counter-mould (3) from the mould (1) and extracting a product. After the step of forming the polymeric material (MP) covers the fibrous material (MF) in the central zone of the cavity and fills a peripheral groove (7) of the cavity of the mold (1). Further, a moulding equipment and the product so obtained are described.
