CONTAINED FOAM ENVELOPE FOR INSULATING AND SEALING LARGE VOLUMES
A system for sealing large volumes or gaps includes a flexible envelope that can assume the shape of the volume when filled with a foaming composition that expands the envelope to the boundaries of the volume. The foaming composition may be integral with the envelope or delivered in bulk by an external device. The foaming composition may be one or multiple parts, typically two parts such as a poly isocyanate and a polyols, in which case it is necessary to keep the two parts separate until foaming is desired. Separation may be accomplished by providing multiple compartments that deliver components via a mixing device into the interior. The envelope may include ribs for structural strength and shaping, and leak pores around its perimeter to enhance bonding and sealing. It may also include perforations for bulk, modular seals or for separation of portions of the envelope to seal irregular shapes.
Crosslinkable thermoplastic polyurethane
The TPU of this invention contains unsaturation in its polymeric backbone. The unsaturation can be present in the soft segment or in the hard segment or in both the soft and hard segments of the TPU. The TPU can be molded like a thermoplastic, and can be subsequently crosslinked by exposure to electron beam irradiation into thermoset articles having excellent chemical resistance, dimensional stability, set properties, heat resistance, oxidative resistance, and creep resistance. In one embodiment, the TPUs of this invention are the reaction product (1) a hydroxyl terminated intermediate, (2) a polyisocyanate, (3) a saturated glycol chain extender, and (4) a glycol chain extender containing carbon-carbon double bonds, such as the allyl moieties present in trimethylolpropane monoallyl ether. In another embodiment of this invention, the thermoplastic polyurethane which is crosslinkable by e-beam irradiation is comprised of the reaction product of (1) a saturated hydroxyl terminated intermediate, (2) an unsaturated hydroxyl terminated intermediate, wherein the unsaturated hydroxyl terminated intermediate contains carbon-carbon double bonds, (3) a polyisocyanate, and (4) a saturated glycol chain extender.
ACOUSTIC PREPREGS, CORES AND COMPOSITE ARTICLES AND METHODS OF USING THEM
Prepregs, composites and articles comprising expandable graphite materials dispersed in a thermoplastic layer are described. In some instances, articles that can be used in an as-produced state may provide a desired sound absorption coefficient or a desired flame spread index, e.g., less than or equal to 25 as tested by ASTM E84 dated 2009. Methods of producing the articles are also described.
REFRACTORY ARTICLE AND PRODUCTION METHOD THEREOF
The present invention provides a refractory article which is fire resistant, heat resistant, and light weight, and which is suitable for use as a building material. The refractory article comprises (1) a core material and (2) a refractory layer which covers one or more surface of the core material, and comprises a polyisocyanurate resin. The core material (1) may be a glued laminated timber. Suitable polyisocyanurate resins may be obtained by reaction of a polyisocyanate in the presence of a polyol. A flame retardant may be present in the polyisocyanurate resin.
DIELECTRIC COMPOSITE MATERIAL FOR FINGERPRINT SENSOR INDUCTION LAYER AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF
Provided is a dielectric composite material for a fingerprint sensor induction layer and a preparation method therefor, wherein the dielectric composite material is made from the following components: an epoxy resin, a phenolic resin, a first type of dielectric inorganic filler, a second type of dielectric inorganic filler, a curing agent, an adhesion promoter, a mould releasing agent and a flame retardant. The dielectric composite material has a high dielectric constant, a small dielectric loss, very stable dielectric properties which change very little with the test frequency, non-transparency and high hardness, such that the fingerprint sensor induction layer prepared therefrom satisfies the requirements of reliability and stability while reaching the thickness requirement, and can be used in various portable electronic products. The dielectric composite material for the fingerprint sensor induction layer is free of heavy metal lead, and is green and environmentally friendly. The dielectric composite material has convenience and high safety, and therefore the terminal application thereof can not only replace the existing digital-input password identification system, but can also be used on any electronic component in need of security.
METAL AND COMPOSITE LEADING EDGE ASSEMBLIES
Various components and methods related to a leading edge assembly are disclosed. The leading edge assembly can include an outer strike shell and a foam core. The foam core can be located inside the outer strike shell. The leading edge assembly can include a heating element with a plurality of sensors and wires. A method of manufacturing a leading edge assembly can include forming a composite layer, applying a metallic layer to the composite layer, installing an electronic device, and inserting a foam core into a cavity bounded by the composite layer and/or the electronic device.
ACRYLIC RESIN COMPOSITION, ACRYLIC RESIN FILM, AND MOLDED BODY
The present invention addresses the issue of providing an acrylic resin composition having high weather resistance, flexibility, heat resistance, transparency, and stress-whitening resistance. This issue is solved by an acrylic resin composition containing a rubber-containing multi-stage polymer (I) containing at least 30% by mass of an elastic polymer (A).
System and method for producing plastic products from recycled mixed plastic waste and plastic product
Disclosed are plastic products from a recycled plastic mix of unidentified, unclean and unsorted mixed plastic waste made with a system comprising thermal and mechanical processing of the recycled plastic waste using continuous extrusion foaming, two-phase cooling, continuous metering of the pulling strength and automatic adjustment of the pulling speed and extrusion speed.
ADDITIVE MANUFACTURED ITEMS WITH FLAME RESISTANCE, PROCESS FOR MAKING AND PROCESS FOR TESTING THEIR FLAME PERFORMANCE
A process for making an article by additive manufacture having resistance to dripping when burned comprising (1) depositing a multitude of thermoplastic monofilament strands using a fused deposition modeling apparatus in a pattern and (2) fusing the multitude of strands together to make an article of manufacture having voids therein; wherein the article of additive manufacture has (a) at least 50% of the monofilament strands oriented within 45 degrees of the long part of the axis; (b) the multitude of strands is greater than 10; (c) having a specific micro structure; and (d) is made from a thermoplastic polymer composition that is either the combination of a thermoplastic polymer with a flame retardant compound, a thermoplastic resin having flame resistant properties, or a combination of a thermoplastic resin having flame resistant properties with a flame retardant compound.
