Multi-layer fire-rated joint component
An improved fire-blocking gasket profile for a fire-rated joint, such as a head-of-wall assembly. Fire-rated joints are aimed at inhibiting or preventing fire, heat, or smoke from leaving one portion of a building and entering another portion of a building. Fire-rated joints can also accommodate movement between adjacent building structures, such as between a ceiling and the top of a wall. The improved fire-blocking gasket profile includes a first layer formed of an intumescent material, a second layer formed of a foil lining and a third layer formed of the vinyl profile. The vinyl profile includes an air gap with the intumescent material positioned therein. A vertical portion of the vinyl profile is positioned between a header track and a wallboard in the fire-rated joint. A horizontal portion of the vinyl profile is positioned at least partially within a deflection gap and sealingly engages with the ceiling.
Lamination Process and Using Coated Fiber Cores to create an adhesive layer and/or a reinforcement layer
The invention includes a method of providing an intermediary layer in a laminated structure, between two adjacent layers, where the intermediary layer contains a fiber having an extrusion coating. The intermediary layer may form a textile constructed from the fibers, the intermediary layer, when the lamination method proceeds, provides the adhesion between the adjacent layers, as well as reinforcement for the laminated structure.
FIRE RESISTANT COMPOSITE POLE
The present invention provides an improved fire resistant composite pole and a method for producing the same. In accordance with preferred embodiments, the composite utility pole of the present invention includes a composite structure having integrally bonded layers of resin impregnated fiberglass extending along the length of the pole. According to a preferred embodiment, the composite structure of the pole includes an intumescent layer which includes: high temperature mineral fibers, exfoliating graphite, organic binders. and alumina trihydrate (ATH).
POLYESTER FILM AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
A polyester film and a method for producing the same are provided. The polyester film includes a heat resistant layer. The heat resistant layer includes a high temperature resistant resin material and a polyester resin material. The high temperature resistant resin material and the polyester resin material are melted and kneaded with each other via a twin screw granulator. The twin-screw granulator has a twin-screw temperature between 250 C. and 320 C., and the twin-screw granulator has a twin-screw rotation speed between 300 rpm and 800 rpm, so that the high temperature resistant resin material is dispersed in the polyester resin material with a particle size of between 50 nm and 200 nm.
HOOK FOR SUSPENDING CABLES OR HOSE PIPES
An improved hook for cable management during maintenance, turnarounds, construction works and industrial works. An improved hook of an injection molded glass-fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin for suspending cables or hose pipes. The hooks are capable of safely bearing high loads in the range of 30 to 400 kg. Methods for providing the present improved hooks, specifically hooks for suspending cables and hoses, where the hooks are comprised of 45 to 800 grams of an injection molded composition comprised of a polybutylene terephthalate resin, 18% to 22% per total weight of the composition glass-fiber, one or more flame retardants and one or more UV stabilizers; and the hooks have a maximum load bearing of 0.3 to 0.8 kg per gram composition.
MOLDED ARTICLE
The invention provides a molded article having excellent mechanical strength, heat resistance, surface roughness, and ferroelectricity. The molded article contains a crystal of a vinylidene fluoride/tetrafluoroethylene copolymer. The crystal is a crystal and is a nano-oriented crystal that has a size of 100 nm or smaller. The molded article has an arithmetic average roughness of 3.0 m or lower.
Fire-Retardant Composite Materials
A prepreg for the manufacture of a fibre-reinforced composite material having fire retardant properties, the prepreg comprising from 42 to 52 wt % of an epoxide resin matrix system and from 48 to 58 wt % fibrous reinforcement, each wt % being based on the total weight of the prepreg, the fibrous reinforcement being at least partially impregnated by the epoxide resin matrix system; wherein the epoxide resin matrix system includes as components: a. a mixture of (i) at least one epoxide-containing resin and (ii) at least one catalyst for curing the at least one epoxide-containing resin; and b. a plurality of solid fillers for providing fire retardant properties to the fibre-reinforced composite material formed after catalytic curing of the at least one epoxide-containing resin, wherein the weight ratio of component a. to component b. is from 1.4:1 to 1.86:1.
A SEALING DEVICE WITH REDUCED BLOCKING
A sealing device including a waterproofing membrane and a protective film including a backing layer, which is directly attached to at least part of the bottom surface of the waterproofing membrane. The invention is also directed to a method for producing a sealing device, to use of a protective film comprising a backing layer for reducing blocking of a polymeric membrane, and to a method for covering a roof substrate using the sealing devices of the present invention.
Functional material having at least one additive
A functional material has, as a first component, a thermoset plastic material, as a second component, a binding material for binding the thermoset plastic material, and, as a third component, at least one additive, which is configured to improve a burning behavior, wherein the burning behavior corresponds at least to a fire reaction class C as given by DIN EN 113501-1 [German/European norm 113501-1]. A method is intended for producing such a functional material and an element is produced from such a functional material.
