NON-PAINTING METALLIC POLYPROPYLENE RESIN COMPOSITION
A metallic polypropylene resin composition is provided herein. The metallic polypropylene resin composition provides appearance characteristics that are similar to those provided by painting, but without painting. The metallic polypropylene resin composition of the present invention has excellent physical properties such as scratch resistance, and thus may be applied to molding methods, such as a molded in color (MIC) method. The resin composition is useful as a material for automobile interior and exterior parts, as wells as electric and electronic products, which can be molded by the MIC method.
Voice-controlled three-dimensional fabrication
An additive three-dimensional fabrication system includes voice control for user interaction. This voice-controlled interface can enable a variety of voice-controlled functions and operations, while supporting interactions specific to consumer-oriented fabrication processes.
SYNTHETIC RESIN MOLDING AND MOLDING METHOD THEREFOR
A molding method for a synthetic resin molding that includes a molding body, a bent portion, and a flange. The bent portion and the flange are continuous in a longitudinal direction of the side edge. The flange includes a wide portion and a narrow portion. The molding method for the synthetic resin molding includes arranging a gate at a position corresponding to an end of one side of the flange in a longitudinal direction, performing injection molding using a colored resin material containing a luster agent kneaded in the material, and forming a protrusion along the side edge in the longitudinal direction at a back of a boundary portion between the flange and the molding body to reduce interference of flow of the molten resin from the flange toward the molding body during the injection molding.
Polymer interlayers comprising special effect metal pigments
An interlayer comprised of a thermoplastic resin and at least one special effect metal pigment. The use of a thermoplastic resin and at least one special effect metal pigment provides a special effect metal appearance without sacrificing other characteristics of the interlayer, and wherein the color of the interlayer measured in reflectance mode is different from the color measured in transmission mode.
Floor covering and method for producing the same
A floor covering including one of a sheet-shaped or plate-shaped matrix made of an elastomeric material. The matrix is provided with particles made of a thermoplastic material, where the elastomeric material of the matrix and the thermoplastic material of the particles each have at least one matching monomer.
Manufacturing process of a product based on cellulose acetate with blended colour
A manufacturing process and the semi-finished product of thermoplastic material obtained therefrom, for obtaining products with aesthetic patterns which can be perceived in semitransparency also in depth is disclosed. The process includes: (i) producing at least two initial elements of thermoplastic material with even but different aesthetic patterns, having a different concentration of the dominating coloring, at least the dominating coloring being of the bleeding type in the specific thermoplastic material; (ii) shaping the two initial elements into strips or loaves being of a submultiple width, not below ⅕ of a characteristic dimension of the desired finished product; (iii) inserting at least two of the strips or loaves having different concentration of the dominating coloring, into a workform, arranging them side by side according to a direction of side-by-side arrangement; and (iv) undergoing pressure and heat to allow the melting and hardening of the thermoplastic material into a single body.
COLORED CONTACT LENS BASED ON AMORPHOUS IMAGES
A method of manufacturing a colored contact lens including the steps of providing a transparent contact lens having a pupil section and an iris section, the iris section surrounding the pupil section and applying a colorant to the surface of the contact lens. The colorant is applied to the contact lens as an amorphous pattern and covers an effective amount of the iris section of the same. The amorphous pattern provides a lens capable of changing the apparent color of the iris of a person wearing the lens while imparting a very natural appearance.
Dithiolene metal complex colorless IR absorbers
The invention relates to the use of compounds of formulae (I) and/or (II) as colorless IR absorbers wherein M is Ni, Pd, Pt, Au, Ir, Fe, Zn, W, Cu, Mo, In, Mn, Co, Mg, V, Cr or Ti, X.sub.1, X.sub.2 and X.sub.3 are each independently of the others sulfur or oxygen, R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 are each independently of the others hydrogen, NR.sub.7R.sub.8, unsubstituted or substituted C.sub.1-C.sub.18alkyl, C.sub.1-C.sub.18 alkyl wherein the alkylene chain is interrupted with oxygen, unsubstituted or substituted C.sub.1-C.sub.18alkenyl, unsubstituted or substituted aryl, unsubstituted or substituted arylalkyl or unsubstituted or substituted heteroarylalkyl, R.sub.7 and R.sub.8, each independently of the other, being unsubstituted or substituted C.sub.1-C.sub.18alkyl, unsubstituted or substituted aryl, unsubstituted or substituted arylalkyl or unsubstituted or substituted heteroarylalkyl, a further IR absorber optionally being added to the compounds of formulae (I) and (II). The invention relates also to novel dithiolene compounds of formulae (I) and (II) wherein X.sub.1 is oxygen and X.sub.2 and X.sub.3 are oxygen or sulfur. The invention relates furthermore to novel dithiolene compounds of formulae (I) and (II) wherein R.sub.1 to R.sub.6 are NR.sub.7R.sub.8. ##STR00001##
Method and system for building painted three-dimensional objects
A method for printing a three-dimensional objet, layer by layer is provided. The method involves printing an inner region of a layer of the three-dimensional object and an outer circumference region. The inner region includes a white outline area and the outer circumference region surrounds the white outline area. The outer circumference region that forms an apparent colored surface includes colored voxels formed by depositing a transparent building material and at least one color additive material and is printed such that the resolution of the color additive is higher than the building material resolution.
A Method of Making Dental Articles
A method of making an article having a desired color, the method comprising the steps of: (a) providing a color array, said array comprising a plurality of distinct color points, each color point being independently composed of a resin mixture comprising one or more masterbatch resins; (b) comparing the desired color with the color points on the color array and selecting a color point that substantially corresponds to the desired color of the article; (c) identifying the resin mixture corresponding to said selected color point; and (d) making the article using said identified resin mixture.
