A molding method for a synthetic resin molding that includes a molding body, a bent portion, and a flange. The bent portion and the flange are continuous in a longitudinal direction of the side edge. The flange includes a wide portion and a narrow portion. The molding method for the synthetic resin molding includes arranging a gate at a position corresponding to an end of one side of the flange in a longitudinal direction, performing injection molding using a colored resin material containing a luster agent kneaded in the material, and forming a protrusion along the side edge in the longitudinal direction at a back of a boundary portion between the flange and the molding body to reduce interference of flow of the molten resin from the flange toward the molding body during the injection molding.
METHOD OF GLOSS CORRECTION
A method of gloss correction in a process of printing a three-dimensional object, wherein a print head is moved in two directions parallel to a substrate to slicewise apply material building the object up to a height as defined in a height map, comprising the steps of: deriving, from the height map, a normal map which assigns to any point of the object surface a normal vector that is normal to the surface of the object; segmenting the surface points into at least two regions in which the normal vectors of points in the region fulfill a predefined similarity criterion that is related to a surface gloss of the object; for each region, estimating an expected surface gloss value of the object; calculating a gloss correction map based on a difference between the estimated surface gloss values for said at least two regions; and applying to the object a surface treatment in accordance with the gloss correction map.

The present invention relates to a laminated member for decoration having a protective film, a coating layer and a resin substrate, wherein the surface roughness Rz(a) of the adhesive layer of the protective film on the side where the coating layer is located and the surface roughness Rz(b) of the coating layer of an unheated sample formed by peeling the protective layer, the surface roughness being taken on the side opposite from the resin substrate, define Rz(b)/Rz(a)×100 having a prescribed relationship; the surface roughness Rz(b) and the surface roughness Rz(bh) of the coating layer of a heated sample prepared by heating the unheated sample under a prescribed condition, the surface roughness being taken on the side opposite from the resin substrate, satisfy at least one of Formulas (2) and (3) below:
0%≤Rz(bh)/Rz(b)×100<30% (2), and
0≤Rz(bh)≤Rz(b)<0.5 μm (3);
and the unreacted (meth)acryloyl groups of the coating layer of the heated sample irradiated with a prescribed amount of active energy rays have disappeared 10 to 100% as compared with the coating layer of the unheated sample.
Multilayer blown films for shrink applications
The present invention discloses multilayer blown films for shrink label and related applications. These multilayer blown films can comprise a core layer containing an ethylene polymer, and inner and outer layers containing conjugated diene monovinylarene block copolymers.
Method to temper the surface hardness of acrylic or other plastic automotive appliques
Methods for preparing thermoplastic automotive appliques include applying heat from an auxiliary heater to a tool cavity of a forming tool. The auxiliary heater is activated for a period of time until a temperature of the heated tool cavity is heated to less than or equal to about a melting temperature of the thermoplastic. The heated tool cavity is filled with the thermoplastic, and a cooling fluid is pulsed through the forming tool. The thermoplastic applique is then removed, and the supply of cooling fluid is turned off.
Container preform with stepped interior finish
A preform is provided for blow-molding to form a container. The preform includes a finish portion for rotatably engaging a closure to seal pressurized contents within an interior of the container. The finish portion comprises a cylindrical body that begins at an opening to the interior and extends to and includes a tamper evidence ledge. A bevel at a beginning of the opening receives a plug seal of the closure. Multiple mirror polished surfaces beyond the bevel are configured to cooperate with the plug seal to seal the container. Mirror polished transition surfaces are disposed between diameter changes within the finish portion. In some embodiments, wherein the plug seal includes a sidewall profile that mates with the transition surfaces, an interior surface of the preform has a diameter that tightly compresses an end of the plug seal to contain pressurized contents within the container.
Oriented Multilayer Polyethylene Films and Laminates Thereof
The present disclosure provides oriented multilayer films including a first layer, a second layer disposed on the first layer and a third layer disposed on the second layer, where the first layer and the third layer include a polyethylene independently selected from (i) a polyethylene having a density of about 0.94 g/cc or greater; (ii) a polyethylene copolymer including ethylene and a C.sub.4-C.sub.12 alpha-olefin and having a density 7 from about 0.927 g/cc to about 0.95 g/cc; or (iii) a mixture thereof, and at least one of the first layer or the third layer includes the polyethylene copolymer, the second layer includes a polyethylene composition having a density of about 0.91 g/cc or greater and the oriented multilayer film has a haze of about 10% or less and a 1% secant modulus in the direction of stretching of about 500 MPa or greater.
BLOW MOLDER CONTROL SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Systems and methods control the operation of a blow molder. An indication of a crystallinity of at least one container produced by the blow molder may be received along with a material distribution of the at least one container. A model may be executed, where the model relates a plurality of blow molder input parameters to the indication of crystallinity and the material distribution and where a result of the model comprises changes to at least one of the plurality of blow molder input parameters to move the material distribution towards a baseline material distribution and the crystallinity towards a baseline crystallinity. The changes to the at least one of the plurality of blow molder input parameters may be implemented.
POLYMER COMPOSITION FOR BLOW MOLDING APPLICATIONS
The present invention relates to a polymer composition comprising (A) a polyolefin; (B) one or more impact modifier(s); (C) one or more fluoropolymer(s); (D) one or more clarifying agent(s); and (E) one or more dispersing agent(s) in an amount of equal to or more than 100 ppm, based on the total weight amount of the polymer composition, an article comprising said polymer composition and the use of said polymer composition for reducing haze and improving gloss of an extrusion blow molded (EBM) bottle.
