Synthetic resin molded-article and method for molding same
A molding method for a synthetic resin molding reduces a disturbed flow of molten resin at a side edge of a molding body during injection molding, and allows the design surface of the molding body to have aesthetic appearance. The synthetic resin molding includes a bend arranged on a side edge of the molding body and bending toward its back surface, and a flange protruding laterally from the bend and including a notch. The molding method includes arranging a gate at a position corresponding to an end of one side of the flange in a longitudinal direction and performing injection molding using a colored resin material containing a luster agent kneaded in the material, and forming a thin portion of the bend in a longitudinal direction of the bend to form a groove on a back surface of the bend.
RESIN PRODUCT, ELECTRONIC DEVICE, AND METHOD OF MAKING RESIN PRODUCT
A resin product includes an outer surface. The outer surface includes a first area and a second area. The first area includes a surface pattern including a concave and convex portion having a first difference in height. The second area includes a surface pattern including a concave and convex portion having a second difference in height, larger than the first difference in height. An arithmetic average height of a top of a convex portion of the concave and convex portion having the first difference in height is larger than an arithmetic average height of a top of a convex portion of the concave and convex portion having the second difference in height.
Blow molder control systems and methods
Systems and methods control the operation of a blow molder. An indication of a crystallinity of at least one container produced by the blow molder may be received along with a material distribution of the at least one container. A model may be executed, where the model relates a plurality of blow molder input parameters to the indication of crystallinity and the material distribution and where a result of the model comprises changes to at least one of the plurality of blow molder input parameters to move the material distribution towards a baseline material distribution and the crystallinity towards a baseline crystallinity. The changes to the at least one of the plurality of blow molder input parameters may be implemented.
Automotive molded-in-color thermoplastic polyolefin with clear coating for paint replacement and high gloss applications
Molded-in-color thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) compositions useful for making automotive components, such as injection molded parts, as well as other articles of manufacture are described. The molded-in-color composition has a E* value2.0 (compared to a painted color master), a gloss measured at 60 from about 76 to about 90 GU, a density ranging from about 0.9 to about 0.97 g/cm.sup.3, a melt mass flow rate from about 15 to about 40 g/10 min (ASTM D 1238, 230 C./2.16 kg), a flexural modulus between about 600 to about 2000 MPa, and an as-molded shrinkage between about 0.6% and about 1.4%. The compositions can be used to prepare molded-in-color components that can undergo additional clear coating steps as required by the automotive application. The clear coated molded-in-color components have a gloss measured at 20 from about 85 to about 95 GU and a gloss retention after mar between about 85% and about 93%.
CLEAR FILM FOR BAGS
A multilayer film having coextruded layers comprising a znLLDPE-based core layer, and mLLDPE-based outer layers on each side of the core layer comprising, wherein the znLLDPE of the core layer has a density which is less than 0.005 g/cc different from a density of the mLLDPE of the outer layers, and wherein the znLLDPE of the core layer has a melting temperature which is less than 15 C. different from a melting temperature of the mLLDPE of the outer layers.
Resin molded product, interchangeable lens for camera, and method of manufacturing resin molded product
A filler-containing resin molded product with a surface which includes irregularities which are transferred from a mold cavity to the surface and have an arithmetic mean roughness of 0.8 m or greater and 10 m or less and a peak arithmetic mean curvature of 400 [1/mm] or greater and 900 [1/mm] or less.
FIBER-REINFORCED COMPOSITE MATERIAL HAVING STYRENE (CO)POLYMER AND NATURAL FIBERS
A fiber-reinforced composite material (K), containing a thermoplastic polymer matrix and at least one natural-fiber component, is technically advantageous if it contains at least 45% (v/v) of a styrene (co)polymer (A) as polymer matrix, 30-55% (v/v) of a natural-fiber sheet material (B) as natural-fiber component, optionally 0-10% (v/v) of an additional polymer component (C), and optionally 0-10% of at least one additive (D), the volume percentages of components (A) to (D) adding up to 100 volume percent of the composite material (K).
METHOD OF FORMING A REUSABLE COEXTRUDED EMBOSSED NONADHESIVE PROTECTIVE COVER
A method of forming a reusable, non-adhesive protective cover is disclosed which includes extruding first and second layers of a thermoplastic film onto a rotatable cast roll. The first layer has an interior surface and an exterior surface. The second layer is extruded onto the interior surface of the first layer to form a co-extruded laminate. The second layer has an exterior surface exhibiting attachment and release capabilities such that a joint tape can be used to join adjacent sheets of the protective cover together. The co-extruded laminate is then advanced between a nip formed by an embossing roll and a rubber roll whereby the exterior surface of the first layer contacts the embossing roll to form a co-extruded embossed laminate. Lastly, the co-extruded embossed laminate is passed around at least a portion of a chill roll to cool the laminate and form the reusable, co-extruded embossed non-adhesive protective cover.
