3D PRINTER WITH A UV LIGHT ABSORBING AGENT
According to an example, a three-dimensional (3D) printer may include a delivery device to deposit a light absorbing agent onto selected areas of a layer of build material particles, in which the light absorbing agent absorbs light having wavelengths that are around the ultraviolet wavelength range. The 3D printer may also include a light source to apply light onto the selectively deposited light absorbing agent and the layer of the build material particles, in which the light absorbing agent absorbs light around the ultraviolet wavelength range from the applied light and becomes heated to a temperature that causes the build material particles upon which the light absorbing agent has been deposited to melt and to fuse together following cessation of the application of the light.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A FREE-FORM OPTICAL COMPONENT
A method for manufacturing a free-form optical component in an injection unit and a painting tool including at least one cavity. Initially, the manufacturing of the free-form optical component as a cover plate takes place by injection molding or injection embossing of a transparent plastic material in the injection unit. The introduction then takes place of a laser-transparent, opaque paint material into a one-sided gap between the cover plate and a boundary of the first cavity of the painting tool. The treated cover plate is turned into a second cavity of the painting tool and the introduction of a self-healing paint layer into the second cavity takes place in such a way that a gap surrounding the treated cover plate is completely filled by the self-healing plastic material and surrounds the free-form optical component.
ILLUMINATED GRAPHIC IN AN AUTOMOTIVE PLASTIC GLAZING
A plastic glazing of a window of a vehicle having a light feature includes a first vehicle window glazing component, a second vehicle window glazing component molded onto the first vehicle window glazing component, and a light unit configured to produce light for the light feature. The light unit being integrated with at least one of the following: the first vehicle window glazing component and the second vehicle window glazing component. The light unit further configured to direct the light for the light feature through or from at least one of the following: the first vehicle window glazing component and the second vehicle window glazing component. The plastic glazing is a one-piece molded plastic construction. At least one of the first vehicle window glazing component and the second vehicle window glazing component is translucent or transparent
FILM HAVING LIGHT TRANSMITTANCE AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF
The present disclosure relates to a film having light transmittance and a manufacturing method thereof. The film includes a Polyurethane (PU) surface layer, and a thermoplastic elastomer layer. The thermoplastic elastomer layer is disposed under the PU surface layer. The thermoplastic elastomer layer includes color masterbatch material. The color masterbatch material is between 0.1-1% weight. By controlling the amount of color masterbatch material in the thermoplastic elastomer layer, the film of the present disclosure has real color appearance and good light transmittance.
METHODS OF MAKING CATHETERS HAVING VISIBLE MARKERS FOR IDENTIFYING SOAKER REGIONS CONTAINING FLUID OPENINGS
A method of making a catheter includes obtaining a hollow tube having a proximal section, a distal section, an elongated conduit, and one or more fluid openings formed in the distal section of the hollow tube that are in fluid communication with the elongated lumen. The method includes inserting a mandrel within the elongated lumen, positioning a first visible marker over an outer surface of the hollow tube at a junction of the proximal and distal sections of the hollow tube, and placing a sacrificial material over the first visible marker to completely cover the first visible marker. Heat is applied for shrinking the sacrificial material, which, in turn, compresses the first visible marker against the outer surface of the hollow tube, and for least partially melting the first visible marker for fusing the first visible marker to the outer surface of the hollow tube.
Equipment cover with textured outer surface
The present invention relates to equipment covers. More particularly, the present invention relates to a method of making an equipment cover, the method comprising: moulding a cover from a substantially transparent or translucent polymer, optionally a thermoplastic polymer, to form a cover having a textured outer surface and a generally smoother inner surface; and applying a coating having reflective components to the inner surface.
TRANSPARENT POLYAMIDES WITH GOOD WEATHERING RESISTANCE
The invention relates to a polyamide molding composition with good weathering resistance containing or preferably consisting of the following components: 85 to 99.85% by weight of a component A, where component A consists of polyamide A1 or of a mixture of the polyamides A1 and A2, where A1 is at least one amorphous or microcrystalline polyamide having more than 60 mol % of monomers having exclusively aliphatic structural units, based on the total amount of monomers, and A2 is at least one acyclic aliphatic polyamide, and where the sum of components A1 and A2 gives 100% by weight of component A; 0.05 to 2.0% by weight of at least one colorant B; 0.10 to 3.0% by weight of at least one stabilizer C; 0 to 10% by weight of additives D, other than A, B and C; the proportions by weight of components A to D summing to 100% by weight, wherein the polyamide molding composition comprises neither carbon black nor nigrosine, the color lightness L*, determined according to DIN EN ISO 11664-4:2020 in the CIELAB color space on a plate of the dimension 60×60×2 mm, being at most 32, and the polyamides A1 having a transparency of at least 88% and a haze of at most 5%, in each case determined according to ASTM- D1003-21 on a plate of the dimension 60×60×2 mm.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING EXTERIOR HOUSING AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE COMPRISING SAME
An electronic device of the present invention comprises: an exterior housing including a first surface facing a first direction, and a second surface facing a second direction opposite to the first direction; a display of which at least a part is exposed through the first surface; and a polymer plate which forms at least a part of the second surface of the housing. The polymer plate comprises: at least one opaque layer; at least one polymer layer that is translucent or transparent and is disposed on the at least one opaque layer; and a coating layer that is disposed on the at least one polymer layer and has a hardness greater than or equal to a selected hardness. Each of the at least one opaque layer, the at least one polymer layer, and the coating layer may comprise a first surface, and a second surface extending from the first surface so that at least a part thereof is bent. Other embodiments are also possible.
