INITIAL TOTAL DAILY INSULIN SETTING FOR USER ONBOARDING
20230256167 · 2023-08-17 ·

Disclosed are techniques to establish initial settings for an automatic insulin delivery device. An adjusted total daily insulin (TDI) factor usable to calculate a TDI dosage may be determined. The adjusted TDI factor may be a TDI per unit of a physical characteristic of the user (e.g., weight) times a reduction factor. The adjusted TDI factor may be compared to a maximum algorithm delivery threshold. Based on the comparison result, the application or algorithm may set a TDI dosage and output a control signal. Blood glucose measurement values may be collected from a sensor over a period of time. A level of glycated hemoglobin of the blood may be determined based on the obtained blood glucose measurement values. In response to the level of glycated hemoglobin, the set TDI dosage may be modified. A subsequent control signal including the modified TDI dosage may be output to actuate delivery of insulin.

Method of implantation of cell aggregates and tissue fragments

In a method for implantation of a physically stabilized aggregate of living cells or tissue fragment is injected into a channel provided in soft tissue filled with an aqueous gel. Also discloses are methods of stabilizing such aggregates and fragments and of forming such channel in soft tissue as well as means for carrying out the methods.

Compositions comprising relaxin and methods of use thereof

The present invention provides methods for treating a stiffened joint in a subject that comprise administering relaxin, e.g., a PEGylated relaxin-2, to the subject. The relaxin may be administered intra-articularly as a sustained release formulation. The present invention also provides sustained release formulations in the form of a hydrogel for administering polypeptides that are covalently attached to a polymer, e.g., PEG.

Automatic dispenser for respiratory delivery device

The present invention provides a particulate delivery device with an automatic activation mechanism that pierces or cuts a composition capsule when a cap is removed. The cap cannot be replaced once the device is activated for use. The device allows for gas flow through the device from a gas inlet to a gas outlet through a composition receptacle and dispersion chamber to deliver particulate to the airway of a subject.

Method and apparatus for delivery of therapeutic agents

Methods and apparatus for the reproducible, consistent and efficacious delivery of a therapeutic agent to a subject. The present disclosure comprises apparatus for the controlled administration of the therapeutic agent through an orifice to the subject, a plurality of penetrating electrodes arranged with a predetermined spatial relationship relative to the orifice, and an electrical signal generator operatively connected to the electrodes.

Multi-component injection system and methods for tissue repair

The present disclosure provides devices, kits and methods for preparing injections with cells and carrier components for delivery to a target area in the body. The disclosed devices, kits, and methods provide preparation and monitoring of injections.

Bioelectric blood pressure management
11167141 · 2021-11-09 · ·

Described are a system and method that utilize bioelectric signaling to balance electrical potentials in a subject's body via neuro-hormonal circuit loops, to increase elasticity of the subject's arteries to promote protein release to dampen arterial blood pressure, and to change arterial electrical charges to reduce narrowing of the arteries. The described system is designed to localize and stimulate the fibers inside the vagus nerve without inadvertent stimulation of non-baroreceptive fibers causing side effects like bradycardia and bradypnea. The system also controls release of specific proteins known to lower blood pressures including tropoelastin (known to increase elasticity in the aorta and other peripheral blood vessels).

Food database for insulin pump
11217339 · 2022-01-04 · ·

A database of foods can be employed for configuring delivery of a bolus with an insulin pump. A user of the pump selects one or more foods from the database of foods to form a meal from which the user's carbohydrate intake is calculated. The database of foods can include a number of records associated with food entries.

SKIN TREATMENT SYSTEM
20210339018 · 2021-11-04 ·

A skin regeneration therapy combining precise bioelectric signals, light, and biologics for skin treatment and regeneration. Precise bioelectric signals give clear instructions to the stimulated cell DNA/RNA to produce specific regenerative proteins on demand. Bioelectric signals give clear instructions to cell membranes on what to let in and what to let out and serve as an equivalent or surrogate of environmental stimuli to cause a cell action in response.
