PEELABLE HEAT-SHRINK TUBING
A heat shrink tubing, which can be readily peeled in the longitudinal direction after use (e.g., to remove the heat shrink tubing from an underlying material) is provided herein. The heat shrink tubing can be of various compositions, and generally is produced from at least one fluorinated, copolyrneric resin. The tubing can exhibit desirable physical properties such as good optical clarity (e.g., translucency or transparency) and/or peelability, exhibiting one or more of complete, straight, and even peeling along a given length of tubing.
Ring mold and method of use
A decorated strip of coated, heat-shrinkable, plastic sheet material is placed on a mold comprising a cylindrical mold body, and attachment means, preferably in the form of two parallel pins extending toward the cylindrical mold body from a pin-supporting wall, and with their ends remote from the wall spaced a short distance from the cylindrical mold body. Holes adjacent the ends of the strip are engaged with the pins. Upon heating in an oven, the strip shrinks, forming a resiliently expansible finger ring, which can be removed from the mold by disengagement from the pins.
HEAT SHRINK TUBE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME
An object of the present invention is to provide a heat shrink tube excellent in peelability and transparency, and a method for producing the heat shrink tube. The present invention provides a peelable heat shrink tube comprising a composition containing a melt-processable fluororesin and PTFE, the PTFE lacking a heat history of its melting point or higher after polymerization and having a specific gravity, as measured according to ASTM D4894, of 2.20 or less. The content of the PTFE is 0.05 to 3.0 wt % based on the total weight of the melt-processable fluororesin and the PTFE. The present invention also provides a method for producing the tube which comprises melt-extruding the composition at a temperature lower than the melting point of the PTFE.
Heat shrinkable polyolefin film and a preparation method thereof
The present invention relates to a biaxially oriented polyolefin multilayer heat shrinkable film, which is a multilayer heat shrinkable film with at least three laminated layers, and has internal and external surface layers of a resin composition comprising 70-80 wt % of an ethylene-norbornene copolymer having a glass-transition temperature (Tg) of 138 C. and a norbornene content of 76 wt %, and 20-30 wt % of an ethylene-propylene random copolymer having a melting point (Tm) of 140 C.; and a core layer comprising 54 wt % of an ethylene-propylene random copolymer having Tm of 140 C., 8 wt % of an ethylene-butylene random copolymer having Tm of 66 C., 20 wt % of an ethylene-norbornene copolymer having Tg of 78 C. and norbornene content of 65 wt %, and 18 wt % of a hydrogenated petroleum resin having softening point (Ts) of 140 C. The present invention provides a polyolefin heat shrinkable film and a method for preparing the same, the film has good temperature resistance, high transversal heat shrinkage rate, solves the problem that labels among bottles are easy to adhere between each other during hot filling drink or the problem about adhesion between labels and PE heat-shrinkable film in bundle-shrink pack of a group of bottles using the PE heat-shrinkable film, and is suitably used as label substrate material for contoured bottles.
Bracelet mold and method of use
A decorated strip of coated, heat-shrinkable, plastic sheet material is placed in a spiral slot formed in a silicone rubber mold. The spiral slot is defined by a spiral wall having a uniform wall thickness. Upon heating in an oven, the material shrinks, forming a resiliently expansible arc-shaped band that can be worn as a bracelet or wristband.
POSITIVE SEALANT PLACEMENT AND PROCESSING INDICATING ADHESIVE
A process of heat recovering tubing includes forming a multilayer tubing assembly, heating the multilayer tubing assembly to a shrink temperature to form a heat-recovered tubing assembly, and visually inspecting the heat-recovered tubing assembly for a presence of at least one colorant. A multilayer tubing assembly and an adhesive assembly are also disclosed. The multilayer tubing assembly includes an outer tubing of a heat-recoverable material, an inner tubing of a heat-meltable material, a substrate encased by the inner tubing, at least one protrusion encased by the inner tubing, and an adhesive strip including an adhesive composition and the colorant. The outer tubing encases the inner tubing. The adhesive strip is located between the substrate and the protrusion.
Cylindrical shrink label and method for producing same
A cylindrical shrink label is provided with a heat-shrinkable label base material; and a joint formed by cylindrically forming the label base material so that the edges thereof overlap, and then solvent welding the inner surface of the outside edge, which is positioned on the outside of the cylinder, and the outer surface of the inside edge, which is positioned on the inside of the cylinder. A resin layer, which is soluble in a hot alkaline aqueous solution, is formed on the abovementioned inner surface and/or the abovementioned outer surface, which form the joint.
Catheter with flat beam deflection in tip
A catheter has a deflection beam with rectangular cross-section and a single continuous puller wire for predictable on-plane bi-directional deflection. The puller wire extends through spacers on opposite sides of the beam so the puller wire is maintained a predetermined separation distance from the beam surface. Tubular structures of the catheter body and the deflectable section are fused at a joint by C-shaped brackets mounted opposite surface of the beam to form a hollow body with holes into which thermoplastic materials covering the catheter body and the deflectable section can melt to form interlocking nodes. Elongated beam stiffeners can be mounted on the beam to provide different curve and deflection geometries.
Heat-shrinkable film for label with low specific gravity and method for preparing the same
A heat-shrinkable label film includes a foamed layer having polystyrene as a principal component, and a pair of non-foamed layers adhesively melted to either side of the foamed layer, wherein the foamed layer and the pair of the non-foamed layers are coextruded to provide a low specific gravity less than 1.0. The film is prepared by coextruding to form the several layers completing a non-drawn film; and drawing the non-drawn film in a transverse direction (TD) at a drawing ratio of 3.5 to 5.5. The foamed ratio of the foamed layer is in the range of 5 to 20%. The thickness of the foamed layer is 60 to 90% of the total thickness of the film; and the thickness of each non-foamed layer is 5 to 20% of the total thickness of the film. The heat-shrinkable label film has a thickness of 30 to 60 m.
A HEAT-SHRINKABLE POLYESTER-BASED FILM AND PACKAGE
The invention provides a heat-shrinkable polyester-based film comprising ethylene terephthalate units, constituent units derived from at least one monomer which forms an amorphous component, and constituent units derived from butanediol. The amount of the constituent units derived from at least one monomer which forms an amorphous component is 18 mol % or more, and the amount of the constituent units derived from butanediol is 1 to 25 mol % based on 100 mol % of all polyester resin components. The heat-shrinkable polyester-based film is characterized by particular values for the secondary shrinkage ratio of the film, the hot-water heat shrinkage ratio of the film, and the reversing heat capacity difference before and after the glass transition temperature of the film.
