Polyester resin for heat-shrinkable film, heat-shrinkable film, heat-shrinkable label, and packaged product
The invention provides a polyester resin for heat-shrinkable film which contains terephthalic acid as a main component of a dicarboxylic acid component, contains ethylene glycol as a main component of a diol component, and contains from 18 to 32% by mol of neopentyl glycol and from 8 to 16% by mol of diethylene glycol when a total amount of the whole diol component in total polyester resin components is taken as 100% by mol. The polyester resin has an intrinsic viscosity (IV) of from 0.70 to 0.86 dl/g, a carboxyl end group concentration (AV) of from 8 to 25 eq/t, and a color b value of from 1.0 to 12.0 in an L*a*b color system. The invention also provides a heat-shrinkable film prepared from the aforementioned polyester resin, as well as a heat-shrinkable label and packaged product.
AUTOMATED HEAT SHRINKING FOR A TELECOMMUNICATIONS PRODUCT
A method for sealing a telecommunications product is disclosed. The method includes securing a telecommunications product to an apparatus having heat blasters, and initiating a heat sealing operation that includes moving the heat blasters along a first plane toward a shrink wrap tubing until the heat blasters surround the shrink wrap tubing; delivering hot air from each heat blaster; and moving the heat blasters along a second plane along a predetermined length of the shrink wrap tubing, the second plane being orthogonal to the first plane.
Curved heat shrink tubing and methods of making the same
Curved heat shrink tubing and methods of making the same are described herein. An example method includes inserting heat shrink tubing into a tube, curving the tube, and deforming the heat shrink tubing, inside of the tube, to have a curved shape along a length of the heat shrink tubing where a first length of the heat shrink tubing along an outer radius of the curved shape is longer than a second length of the heat shrink tubing along an inner radius of the curved shape.

BLOW MOLDING METHOD, COMPOSITE PREFORM, COMPOSITE CONTAINER, INNER LABEL MEMBER, AND PLASTIC MEMBER
First, a composite preform 70 including a preform 10a and a plastic member 40a in close contact with the outer surface of the preform 10a is made by preparing the preform 10a made of plastic material and arranging the plastic member 40a to surround the outer surface of the preform 10a. Subsequently, the composite preform 70 is heated and inserted in a blow molding die 50 and undergoes blow molding in the blow molding die 50, by which the preform 10a and the plastic member 40a of the composite preform 70 are inflated integrally and a composite container 10A is obtained.

Polyester label and packaging container
The inventive label is prepared from a polyester with an intrinsic viscosity of 0.58 dl/g or more. The label has a base film with a thickness of 8-30 m and a difference in specific heat capacity Cp between temperatures lower and higher than Tg of 0.2 J/(g.Math. C.) or more. The label has a tensile elongation at break of 5% or more in both a main shrinkage direction and an orthogonal direction. A difference between the absorbancy ratio (absorbancy at 1340 cm.sup.1/absorbancy at 1410 cm.sup.1) in the main shrinkage direction of the label and the absorbancy ratio in the direction orthogonal to the main shrinkage direction of the label is 0.2 or more. The label has a difference between a maximum value and a minimum value of a length in a vertical direction of the label of 3 mm or less.
Duct with shape memory material, and installation method
Ducting and/or duct couplings can be formed from shape memory polymer material, with the material for example being additively manufactured. The use of shape memory polymer material for one or more of the duct portions may allow for easier installation of the ducting, for example allowing the ducting to be warped and/or bent to fit into or through places that are hard to reach or hard to maneuver through, with the ducting then heated to cause it to return to a predetermined memory shape. The coupling of duct portions together may be accomplished by the duct portions including a shape memory polymer material, with for example ends of the duct portions fitted together, and then heated to use a shape memory property of the material to effect coupling. Heating of the shape memory polymer material also softens the material, allowing it to move to a previously set shape.
METHOD OF MAKING AN ANTIMICROBIAL MULTILAYER FILM
The presently disclosed subject matter is generally directed to packaging materials having at least one antimicrobial agent and methods of making thereof. A multilayer film including a sealant layer with a polymeric substrate, a lauroyl arginate moiety, and an ethylene methacrylic acid copolymer is disclosed. Such packaging materials are suitable for use in the packaging of food products to control microbial contamination.
