SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MAGNET-INDUCED ASSEMBLY TISSUE GRAFTS
20220193309 · 2022-06-23 ·

Systems and methods for assembling a plurality of tissue grafts are provided. A method includes applying a magnetic coating over a surface of a donor site and harvesting the plurality of micro tissue grafts from the donor site, so that an upper surface of each of the plurality of micro tissue grafts contains the coating. The method also includes arranging a magnet over the magnetic coating to induce the plurality of micro tissue grafts to organize in a desired orientation, forming a tissue construct containing the plurality of micro tissue grafts arranged in the desired orientation, and applying the tissue construct to a recipient site.

20220160948 · 2022-05-26 ·

The invention relates to a treatment device (100) which is designed for extracorporeal blood treatment of blood of a subject (2) for an immunotolerance enhancement of the subject (2), comprising at least one container (10) which has an interior (11) for receiving a blood sample (1) of blood of the subject (2) and an exchange device (20) designed to supply and/or discharge the blood sample (1) into or out of the interior (11) of the container (10) and comprising a cell exposure device (30) which is positioned in the container (10) and has biological cell material (31) with surface molecules, said cell material being arranged in the interior (11) of the container (10) for a material interaction with the blood sample (1), including a reaction of endogenous immune cells in the blood with the surface molecules of the cell material. The invention also relates to a kit for extracorporeal blood treatment and to a method for operating the treatment device.

Ophthalmic cutting instruments having integrated aspiration pump

A device for performing an ophthalmic procedure in an eye including a hand-held portion; an elongate member extending from a distal end region of the hand-held portion; and an aspiration pump within the hand-held portion. The elongate member includes a lumen and an opening near a distal end region of the elongate member. The aspiration pump is in fluid communication with the opening of the elongate member. The aspiration pump includes a camshaft extending along a longitudinal axis and having a plurality of lobed cams; tubing extending parallel to the longitudinal axis; and a plurality of cam followers driven by the cams of the camshaft to move in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis to sequentially compress the tubing. Related devices, systems, methods are provided.

Tissue collection and delivery device and methods of use thereof

A system and method for harvesting autologous tissue, mincing it into fragments that are visible and measureable when filtered, and delivering a portion of the tissue back into the patient without the need to directly touch the tissue. During the same surgical procedure, the tissue can be mixed with a biocompatible agent before introduction into the repair site.

Method of implantation of cell aggregates and tissue fragments

In a method for implantation of a physically stabilized aggregate of living cells or tissue fragment is injected into a channel provided in soft tissue filled with an aqueous gel. Also discloses are methods of stabilizing such aggregates and fragments and of forming such channel in soft tissue as well as means for carrying out the methods.

Cassette Including Plural Catch Trays For Retaining Plural Tissue Samples From A Fluid Stream

A cassette for retrieving plural tissue samples from a fluid stream. The cassette includes a bypass conduit and plural voids. A catch tray is removably seated in each of the voids. A fitting extends from the cassette. The cassette has an outlet opening through which a suction is drawn. The cassette also has a valve. The valve directs the fluid stream from the fitting so the fluid stream flows through the bypass conduit or through one of the voids in which a catch tray is seated.

METHODS AND DEVICES FOR DELIVERING THERAPEUTIC MATERIALS TO THE INTERVERTEBRAL DISC

A method of delivering a therapeutic agent to a nucleus pulposus of an intervertebral disc is provided. The method comprises inserting a delivery tool containing the therapeutic agent through an anterior portion, a lateral portion, or an anterolateral portion of an annulus fibrosus and into the nucleus pulposus of the intervertebral disc and delivering the therapeutic agent to the nucleus pulposus of the intervertebral disc. Devices and kits are also provided.

Manifold for a medical/surgical waste collection system with a material collection volume for collecting material entrained within fluid

A manifold for a medical/surgical waste collection system. An outlet opening and a fitting are in fluid communication with a manifold volume within a housing. The fitting receives a suction line. A filter element with porous features is disposed within the housing such that a fluid communication path is established across the filter element. The porous features trap material entrained within the fluid. A material collection volume is at least partially distal to and below a bottom of the filter element. As the fluid and the material is drawn through the fluid communication path, the material collects within the material collection volume. A flow diverter may be positioned within the housing for directing the material towards the material collection volume. The material collection volume may be at least partially defined by a tissue trap removably coupled to the housing.

TECHNIQUES FOR COLLECTING DIALYSIS EFFLUENT TARGET MATERIALS

Techniques and devices for filtering dialysis fluids, such as dialysis effluent, are described. For example, a filter device may be configured to filter peritoneal dialysis (PD) effluent draining from a patient during a PD process. The filter devices may include filters configured to filter materials, such as human cells, microorganisms, and/or other components from PD effluent. For instance, a filter device may be configured to be installed in-line in a drain circuit of a PD system using conventional tubing. The captured materials may be analyzed or otherwise processed to determine health characteristics of a patient and/or to capture stem cells. Other embodiments are described.
