SKATE OR OTHER FOOTWEAR
A skate (e.g., an ice skate) for a skater (e.g., a hockey player). The skate comprises a skate boot for receiving a foot of the skater and a skating device (e.g., a blade and a blade holder) disposed beneath the skate boot to engage a skating surface (e.g., ice). At least part of the skate boot and optionally at least part of one or more other components (e.g., the skating device) may be constructed from one or more materials (e.g., foams) molded by flowing in molding equipment during a molding process (e.g., injection molding or casting). This may allow the skate (or other footwear) to have useful performance characteristics (e.g., reduced weight, proper fit and comfort, etc.) while being more cost-effectively manufactured. Other articles of footwear are also provided.
Fused deposition modeling-based additive manufacturing process at low temperatures
A process for manufacturing an article comprises the steps of: I) applying a filament of an at least partially fused construction material to a support so as to obtain a layer of the construction material which corresponds to a first selected cross-section of the article; II) applying a filament of the at least partially fused construction material to a previously applied layer of the construction material so as to obtain a further layer of the construction material which corresponds to a further selected cross-section of the article and which is bonded to the previously applied layer; and III) repeating step II) until the article is formed. At least steps II) and III) are carried out in a chamber and the construction material comprises a fusible polymer. The fusible polymer has a fusion range (DSC, differential scanning calorimetry; 2nd heating at a heating rate of 5 K/min.) of ≥20° C. to ≤100° C. The fusible polymer further has a complex viscosity |η*| (determined by viscosity measurement in the melt using a plate-plate oscillating viscometer according to ISO 6721-10 at 100° C. and a shear rate of l/s) of ≥10 Pas to ≤1000000 Pas. Finally, the temperature inside the chamber is ≤50° C. The invention also relates to an article manufactured by the process according to the invention, to an article having a substrate and to an article bonded to the substrate, the article being in the form of an adhesive joint or varnish region, and to the use of a particular polyurethane in fused deposition modeling-based additive manufacturing processes.
Method of layerwise fabrication of a three-dimensional object
A method of layerwise fabrication of a three-dimensional object is disclosed. The method comprises, for each of at least a few of the layers: dispensing at least a first modeling formulation and a second modeling formulation to form a core region using both the first and the second modeling formulations, and at least one envelope region at least partially surrounding the core region using one of the first and the second modeling formulations but not the other one of the first and the second modeling formulations. The method can also comprise exposing the layer to curing energy. The first modeling formulation is characterized, when hardened, by heat deflection temperature (HDT) of at least 90° C., and the second modeling formulation is characterized, when hardened, by Izod impact resistance (IR) value of at least 45 J/m.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING 3D MOLDED PARTS WITH VARIABLE TARGET PROPERTIES OF THE PRINTED IMAGE DOTS
A method for producing 3D moulded parts, wherein one or more building materials in the form of particles are applied in a defined layer to a building area by means of a coater (101), one or more absorbers or one or more liquids comprising one or more absorbers are selectively applied as printed image dots by means of a printhead (100), an energy input is performed by means of an energy source (108, 109), wherein the regions with selectively applied absorber are selectively solidified, the building area is lowered by the thickness of a layer or the coater is raised by the thickness of a layer, these steps are repeated until the desired 3D moulded part (103) is created, wherein the amount of absorber within a layer (301) per printed image dot is set to a predetermined value and wherein predetermined values that are different in two or more image dots can be set within a layer.

METHOD FOR FORMING A STRESS-FREE MULTILAYER PVC SHEET MATERIAL
A method for forming a multilayer plastic sheet material is disclosed, where a first polymer mass is melted under pressure and is passed through an extruder head at a specified discharge rate in the form of a plastic strand in sheet form that is provided with one or more layers so that a multilayer plastic strand is formed. This is passed to two or more rolls of a finishing stand that processes the multilayer plastic strand into a sheet. After the plastic strand in sheet form leaves the extruder head, it is first passed between a top roll and a bottom roll of a roughing stand. The speed of the rolls of the finishing stand and the rolls of the roughing stand is synchronized with the discharge rate of the plastic strand in sheet form from the extruder head, so that the plastic strand is processed without stress.
