Method and apparatus for forming delivery devices for oral intake of an agent
Methods, systems and apparatuses are provided for producing delivery devices, preferably for oral intake of an agent. In the broadest aspect, the method comprises assembling one or more layers comprising one or more materials with an agent or an agent-releasing formulation to form an intergraded, preferably laminated device; folding said integrated delivery device to form a folded integrated delivery device; and at least partially enclosing said folded delivery device to a form suitable for oral delivery. Preferably, the integrated device comprise a first external layer of a first material; a frame of a second material mounted on the first external layer; an agent-releasing formulation housed within the frame; and a second external layer of the first material mounted on the frame.
Multilayer composite body of metal and polypropylene-based resin composition and method for producing same
A multilayer composite body in which a shaped metal article, a thermosetting resin layer, a modified polyolefin resin layer, and a polypropylene-based resin composition, or a PP-based GFRTP are laminated in the order of description. A multilayer composite body of a metal and a resin is obtained which excels in a fixing strength (shear breaking stress) between the shaped metal article and the molded article of the polypropylene-based resin composition. The thermosetting resin layer is composed mainly of a urethane resin or an epoxy resin. The polypropylene-based resin composition is molded by an injection molding. The modified polyolefin resin forming the modified polyolefin resin layer includes one or two or more of non-chlorinated modified polyolefin resins having a weighted average of melting points of 70 C. to 110 C., as determined with a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC).
FIBER REINFORCED PLASTIC MOLDED ARTICLE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE FIBER REINFORCED PLASTIC MOLDED ARTICLE
[Objective]
The object of the present invention is to provide a fiber reinforced plastic molded article having favorable close contact properties with reinforcing fibers and superior mechanical strength.
[Constitution]
A fiber reinforced plastic molded article obtained by molding a fiber reinforced plastic molding material comprising a radical polymerizable resin composition and reinforcing fibers, wherein the radical polymerizable resin composition contains at least a urethane (meth) acrylate resin component (a) containing a urethane (meth) acrylate resin compound represented by the following chemical formula [Chemical 1]:
X?M]n[Chemical 1]
(in the formula, wherein n is within a range from 2 to 100, X is a compound residue having two or more isocyanate groups, and M contains at least formula [Chemical 2]:
N?C?O[Chemical 2]
and M other than the above formula [Chemical 2] is a formula [Chemical 3]:
##STR00001##
in the formula [Chemical 3], Q represents a mono alcohol compound residue containing ethylene unsaturated groups) and an organic tin compound component (b); and the component (a) and the component (b) are mixed prior to curing.
INORGANIC COMPOSITE, USE, MECHANICAL SHAPING TOOL, MOULD, MANUFACTURING METHOD
An inorganic composite, the use of the inorganic composite in tools and molds, a mechanical forming tool, a mold, and a process for manufacturing inorganic composite tools and molds. The composite material mold and/or mechanical forming tool, metal forming, casting or injection mold, said molds or tools have physicochemical properties. The manufacturing process provides fast, low-cost, high-quality manufacture and reduced energy and raw material consumption, making industrial production economically feasible by forming of structural composite materials and bringing environmental advantages.
FLUOROPOLYMER FREE POLYMER PROCESSING AIDS
A polymer processing aid (PPA) reduces melt defects in extruded polyolefins in the absence of fluoropolymers. The polymer processing aid comprises a polyalkylene glycol such as a polyethylene glycol together with a high pressure low density polyethylene (LDPE) and reduces melt defects well in a thermoplastic polyolefin such as a linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE).
Mixed-plastics-polypropylene blend
Mixed-plastics polypropylene blend including mainly polypropylene being benzene free with defined CIELAB color.
HEAT CONDUCTIVE SHEET AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
Disclosed is a heat conductive sheet which includes strips joined together side-by-side, each strip including a resin and a carbon material having a number-based modal diameter of 5 ?m to 50 ?m, wherein the heat conductive sheet has heat conductivity in thickness direction of 40 W/m.Math.k or more.
Manhole inserts and manhole insert gasket fabrication methods
Methods of fabricating a manhole insert gasket on a manhole insert flange of a manhole insert include fabricating a gasket mold, inverting a manhole insert having a manhole insert flange, placing the manhole insert on the gasket mold with a mold space overlying the manhole insert flange, preparing a gasket material, placing the gasket material in the mold space, finishing the manhole insert gasket by curing the gasket material and removing the manhole insert from the gasket mold. Manhole inserts having a manhole insert gasket characterized by enhanced sealing capability and longevity are also disclosed.
MATERIAL SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURING MATERIAL SYSTEMS
A material system may include: an aluminum layer; a glass composite layer adjacent to the first aluminum layer; and a carbon composite layer adjacent to the first glass composite layer, and opposite to the first aluminum layer. A method of manufacturing a material system may include: stacking an aluminum layer, glass composite layer that may include thermoplastic prepreg plies, and carbon composite layer so that the aluminum layer is adjacent to the glass composite layer, and the glass composite layer is adjacent to the carbon composite layer; and consolidating the thermoplastic prepreg plies to soften the aluminum layer. A method of manufacturing a material system may include: stacking an aluminum layer, glass composite layer that comprises thermoplastic resin, and carbon composite layer so that the glass composite layer is between the aluminum and carbon composite layers; and adjusting temperature and pressure to consolidate the stack.
EXTREMELY COMPLIANT YET TOUGH HYDROGEL SYSTEMS AS ULTRASOUND TRANSMISSION AGENTS
A method for making a tough and compliant hydrogel. A precursor hydrogel is made of a first polymer selected to maintain high elasticity and a second polymer selected to dissipate mechanical energy. The precursor hydrogel is stretched to a multiple of its original length to form a pre-stretched hydrogel. The pre-stretched hydrogel is allowed to relax and is soaked in a biocompatible solvent to reach equilibrium swelling of the pre-stretched hydrogel whereby shear modulus of the hydrogel is reduced.
