MULTILAYER POLYMER FILMS FORMED FROM POST-CONSUMER RECYCLING MATERIALS WITH IMPROVED MECHANICAL AND PHYSICAL PROPERTIES
A multi-layer film is described that has at least a skin and core layers, wherein the core layer comprises post-consumer recycled (PCR) polyethylene polymer.
Tearable tube formed from fluororesin
A method for producing the fluororesin tube, the method including a step of subjecting a thermoplastic fluororesin to melt extrusion molding at a temperature of about 260 to 450 C., wherein the thermoplastic fluororesin is selected from the group consisting of a tetrafluoroethylene-hexafluoropropylene copolymer and a tetrafluoroethylene-perfluoroalkyl vinyl ether copolymer, wherein in the melt extrusion molding, a flow path of the molten thermoplastic fluororesin is temporarily branched to form a weld line in a lengthwise direction in the fluororesin tube. In some cases, the fluororesin tube has tearing property in a lengthwise direction and the method includes subjecting the thermoplastic fluororesin, a filler and/or a contrast agent to the melt extrusion molding.
METHODS OF MAKING LOW GEL PEROXIDE-MODIFIED LINEAR LOW DENSITY POLYETHYLENE
Ethylene-based polymers having a melt index of 0.1-0.7 g/10 min, a high load melt index of 5-20 g/10 min, and a density of 0.91-0.93 g/cm.sup.3 are disclosed. These polymers contain 3-50 ppmw of calcium and/or have a gel count of less than or equal to 100 gels/ft.sup.2, in which the gels have a size in diameter of 200-800 microns in a 50 micron thick film. Further, these polymers can be characterized by one of more of a tan at 0.1 sec.sup.1 of 1.5-4.5, a CY-a parameter of 0.15-0.35, and/or from 2.5-13 long chain branches per 1,000,000 total carbon atoms. The ethylene polymers are produced by a method that includes blending a first portion of a base polymer and a peroxide compound to produce a first mixture and contacting the first mixture with a second portion of the base polymer and an additive. The amount of the peroxide compound is 2-50 ppmw of peroxide groups based on the weight of the ethylene polymer.
A MULTIPLE LAYER MATERIAL, PACKAGING MATERIAL COMPRISING SUCH MULTIPLE LAYER MATERIAL, AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING A MULTIPLE LAYER MATERIAL
A multiple layer material (11) comprising an extruded profile (27) and at least one lamination material (28, 29) adhered to at least one surface (32, 33) of the extruded profile (27) to form the multiple layer material (11). The lamination material (28, 29) is formed with a structure with indentations (48), and the multiple layer material (11) comprises a melt bond and a mechanical bond (41) between the extruded profile (27) and the lamination material (28, 29), wherein said melt bond is formed by at least partially melting the material of the surface (32, 33) of the extruded profile (27) and at least partially melting only a part of the thickness of the lamination material (28, 29), wherein said mechanical bond (41) is formed by that the material at the at least partially melted surface (32, 33) of the extruded profile (27) is brought into the indentations of the lamination material (28, 29), and wherein the lamination material, at least before it is adhered to the extruded profile, is permeable to air. Disclosed is also a process for producing the multiple layer material.
