CURABLE COMPOSITIONS
Provided herein are curable compositions useful for, among other things, making three-dimensional parts by additive manufacturing. The compositions when cured exhibit a surprising balance of improved tensile strength and percent elongation.
Co-extruded multi-layer tube for use in forming flexible bags
A multilayer film including a barrier layer, a sealing layer, and an alcohol barrier layer. The alcohol barrier layer includes cyclic olefin copolymer and is positioned between the barrier layer and the sealing layer. The multilayer film can be used to form a pouch for containing an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
MULTI-CUP ARRANGEMENT FOR FOODSTUFF PACKAGING
The present invention provides a multi-cup arrangement comprising a polypropylene sheet, wherein the polypropylene sheet comprises at least two cavities, the cavities each protruding from the sheet from a bottom surface of the sheet, wherein the cavities are separated from each other via one or more spacer area(s) on the sheet, wherein the spacer area(s) each comprise one or more groove(s) on the bottom surface of the sheet that are positioned to allow the sheet to be broken along the groove by bending the sheet towards the top surface, wherein the grooves are positioned to divide the sheet into multiple segments, each segment comprising one or more cavities, wherein each of the groove(s) has a maximum depth of ≥25% and ≤80% with regard to the thickness of the polypropylene sheet. Such multi-cup arrangement may be separated into individual cup segments by moderate manual force, whilst the arrangement does not undesirably bend nor snap under the action of its own weight.
Continuous gluing process of an adhesive composition with a gluing nozzle having an extrusion die with a relaxation volume
The invention relates to a gluing process of an adhesive composition with the use of a gluing nozzle having an extrusion die for continuous extrusion of an adhesive composition over a predetermined width, the extrusion die (20) comprising a lower lip (22) and an upper lip (24), the upper and lower lips (24, 22) extending parallel to one another so as to form a transverse channel (28) for the longitudinal flow of the adhesive composition, the transverse channel extending longitudinally between: a supply opening (30) for supplying the adhesive composition; and an extrusion outlet (34) for extrusion of the adhesive composition (34); the channel (28) comprising a concave volume (32) for relaxation of the adhesive composition between the supply opening (30) and the gluing outlet (34).
CLEAR FILM FOR BAGS
A multilayer film having coextruded layers comprising a znLLDPE-based core layer, and mLLDPE-based outer layers on each side of the core layer comprising, wherein the znLLDPE of the core layer has a density which is less than 0.005 g/cc different from a density of the mLLDPE of the outer layers, and wherein the znLLDPE of the core layer has a melting temperature which is less than 15 C. different from a melting temperature of the mLLDPE of the outer layers.
Tube and method for manufacturing same
Provided are a tube that has high inner-surface smoothness and outer-surface smoothness and a thickness distribution with a small variation, and a method for manufacturing the tube. The tube includes points a, b, c, and d that satisfy the following conditions (1) and (2): (1) 0.9<Rea/Rec<1.1 and 0.9<Reb/Red<1.1; and (2) Rea/Reb0.9 or Rea/Reb1.1. The points a, b, c, and d are four random points that are located on the circumference of the tube on any cross section in the axial direction of the tube, and are aligned in the stated order in a circumferential direction. Rea, Reb, Rec, and Red respectively indicate retardations at the points a, b, c, and d. The tube satisfies the following condition (3): (3) (10-point standard deviation/10-point average)1002 in the respective sets A, B, C, and D. Each of the sets A, B, C, and D includes retardations at ten random points present in a range between the point a, b, c, or d and a point 5 mm away from that point in the axial direction.
THERMOPLASTIC FLUORORESIN TUBE
There is provided a thermoplastic fluororesin tube that, during the production of a catheter, can prevent a gap or air bubbles from being formed in the connection part of the catheter, and can be suitably used for the production of a catheter. A thermoplastic fluororesin tube, the thermoplastic fluororesin tube having tearability in a longitudinal direction, wherein a thermal expansion coefficient in the longitudinal direction upon heating in a gaseous phase at a temperature of 100 C. for 5 minutes is 0% or more.
Simulated dissectible tissue
A simulated dissectible tissue for surgical training is provided. The simulated tissue comprises a silicone gel layer encapsulated within a silicone shell. A simulated anatomical structure is embedded together with the silicone gel layer within the sealed shell. The silicone shell as well as the silicone gel layer may include a deadening agent. Further processing of the silicone gel layer may include adding alcohol and, optionally, heating the mixture. The simulated dissectible tissue may be formed into a specific tissue or organ model for practicing surgical skills. The user practices incising through the outer layer and separating the shell layer along a dissection plane defined by the silicone gel layer to gain visibility of the embedded simulated anatomical structures. The silicone gel layer simulates dissectible tissue and has glossy and elastic properties that provide a realistic dissectible tissue layer for emulating skeletonization of the simulated anatomical structures contained therein.
WAX-BASED COMPOSITIONS, ARTICLES MADE THEREFROM, AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURE AND USE
Wax-based compositions for making barrier layers used in oral treatment devices are thermally stable when formed into a flat sheet or three-dimensional article to a temperature of at least 45 C. and are plastically deformable at room temperature (25 C.). The wax-based compositions include a wax fraction homogeneously blended with a polymer fraction. The wax fraction includes at least one wax and the polymer fraction includes at least one polymer selected such that, when the at least one wax and at least one polymer are homogeneously blended together, they yield a wax-based composition having the desired properties of thermal stability and plastic deformability. Barrier layers and oral treatment devices made from such wax-based compositions are dimensionally stable to a temperature of at least 40 C. without external support and can be plastically deformed in a user's mouth to become at least partially customized to the size and shape of user's unique dentition.
