An intraosseous device, comprising a cannula through which life-saving fluids are transfusible into or out of bone marrow of a target bone when the cannula is penetrated into the target bone; a stylet which is engageable with the cannula; and means for causing penetration of the stylet and cannula, when mutually engaged, to a predefined depth within the target bone with respect to an outer surface of the target bone, the depth being irrespective of a thickness of tissue above the target bone.

COMBINED TROCAR AND CANNULA BONE MARROW ASPIRATION DEVICE WITH INTEGRAL VALVE AND PORTS FOR ASPIRATION, AND METHODS FOR USING SAME

A device comprising a trocar having a first end and comprising a cannulation and at least one fenestration proximal the first end; and a housing comprising a first port configured for the attachment of a first syringe and a second port configured for the attachment of a collection vessel, a first valve configured to selectively permit fluid flow through the cannulation of the trocar to the first port, and a second valve configured to selectively permit fluid flow through the cannulation of the trocar to the second port. The device allows the first syringe to draw up bone marrow in small volumes with high vacuum and then transfer the small draws into the collection vessel. The device may increase the recovery of desired cells residing in the bone marrow to be recovered during a bone marrow aspiration procedure.

A blood component separator (1) includes a blood storage vessel (20) that includes a first storage part (21) and a second storage part (22), a slider (30) movable from the first storage part to the second storage part, and a flow path (40f) for communicating an inside and an outside of the storage vessel. When the slider is in the first storage part, the first storage part and the second storage part are in communication with each other. When the slider is inserted into the second storage part, a liquid-tight seal is formed between the slider and the inner peripheral surface of the second storage part and the communication between the first storage part and the second storage part is blocked by the slider. The slider is movable in the second storage part while maintaining the liquid-tight seal between the slider and the inner peripheral surface of the second storage part. As the slider enters the second storage part, the blood component in the second storage part is pushed out of the storage vessel through the flow path.
