Vented Dual Port Centrifuge Tube
A vented dual port centrifuge tube includes a tubular receptacle having upper and lower ends. A first common inlet and outlet port is formed in the upper end and a second common inlet and outlet port is formed in the lower end. A piston is sealably and slidably mounted within a chamber of the receptacle. A vent is supported in the upper end of the receptacle and a flexible vent pipe attached to the piston is communicably interconnected between the vent and a lower region of the chamber between the piston and the lower end of the receptacle. Air pressure in the lower region of the receptacle is equalized or neutralized as biological fluids and separated constituent components are introduced into and aspirated from the receptacle through the common inlet ports.
Decompression device and method
A decompression device and method for removing marrow and other fluid from an intramedullary canal. The decompression device includes a cannula having a channel that allows fatty marrow to pass therethrough. A first port extends from the device and is in operable connection to a vacuum source that creates suction for removing fluid from the intramedullary canal. In some embodiments, one or more fenestrations are disposed along the second end of the cannula to expedite the removal of the fluid. In operation, the cannula is inserted into the intramedullary canal of a femur. Once fatty marrow is removed from the intramedullary canal, the cannula is removed and a reaming device is inserted into the femur. In this way, the fatty marrow is removed prior to the reaming procedure in order to prevent these fluids from traveling to the lungs causing blockage that leads to severe cardiorespiratory and vascular dysfunction.
TRIPLE SYRINGE AND METHODS OF MAKING PLATELET-ENRICHED PLASMA AND USE THEREOF
A triple syringe system that allows for a larger combined output of PRP (platelet rich plasma) and PPP (platelet poor plasma). The multi-syringe system allows for the connection of two or more additional syringes. The fractions may be extracted with the multi-syringe system of the present invention at different sequential times, or at the same time.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ISOLATING EXTRACELLULAR VESICLES
A system and method of isolating extracellular vesicles. The method includes loading one or more of blood or bone marrow into an input port of a concentration system and centrifuging one or more of the blood or bone marrow to separate one or more of red blood cells, platelet poor plasma, or platelet rich plasma/bone marrow concentrate fractions via a centrifuge device. The method further includes pumping one or more of bone marrow/platelet rich plasma fractions and platelet poor plasma fractions into a receptacle of the concentration system and adding a concentrated aqueous two-phase solution to one or more of the bone marrow concentrate/platelet rich plasma fractions and platelet poor plasma fractions. The method also includes drawing the concentrated aqueous two-phase solution and one or more of the bone marrow concentrate/platelet rich plasma fractions or platelet poor plasma fractions back into the centrifuge device to isolate one or more of extracellular vesicles and platelet rich plasma/bone marrow concentrate fractions.
Standardizations and medical devices for the preparation of platelet rich plasma (PRP) or bone marrow concentrate (BMC) alone or in combination with hyaluronic acid
The present invention is related to the field of tissue regeneration. It concerns more particularly new standardizations and medical devices for the preparation of A-PRP, PRP, BMC, fat tissue, alone or in combination with a biomaterial or cell extract.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR ASPIRATING BONE MARROW
A device and method for aspirating bone barrow. The device includes a double syringe assembly having a distal syringe and a proximal syringe coupled to the distal syringe. A plunger includes a distal end disposed within a barrel of the distal syringe and a proximal end disposed within a barrel of the proximal syringe. A needle assembly is coupled to the double syringe assembly and includes a needle having an outer tube and an inner tube disposed within the outer tube. Upon actuation of the plunger, the distal syringe aspirates bone marrow through the outer tube of the needle and into a chamber of the distal syringe. At the same time, the proximal syringe injects fluid through the inner tube of the needle at the same rate in which the bone marrow is aspirated.
Bone Fragment Collector and Processor
A device for collecting and processing bone fragments comprises a housing and a filter element disposed in the housing. The filter element at least partially defines a collection chamber for the collection of a composition comprising bone fragments. An inlet cap is releasably coupled to either the housing or to the filter element and configured to receive the composition. The inlet cap includes a body, an inlet port extending from the body and configured to be coupled to a surgical tool, and a spout extending from the body opposite the inlet port. The spout includes an injection port extending into the collection chamber of the filter element. A outlet cap is releasably coupled to the housing and is configured to be coupled to a vacuum source.
Device and method for inserting a cannula to a predetermined depth within a bone, irrespective of the thickness of the tissue above the bone
An intraosseous device, comprising a cannula through which life-saving fluids are transfusible into or out of bone marrow of a target bone when the cannula is penetrated into the target bone; a stylet which is engageable with the cannula; and means for causing penetration of the stylet and cannula, when mutually engaged, to a predefined depth α within the target bone with respect to an outer surface of the target bone, the depth α being irrespective of a thickness of tissue above the target bone.
Tissue transfer devices suitable for tissue implementation
Tissue transfer devices suitable for transfer of tissues include a cannula, a plurality of tissue separating members outwardly extendable from the cannula, a tissue reservoir disposed in fluid communication with the cannula and a pump disposed in fluid communication with the tissue reservoir.
DEVICES AND METHODS FOR MAKING THERAPEUTIC FLUIDS
Devices and methods for extracting and concentrating therapeutically active factors from mammalian fluids and tissues are described herein.
