Oriented films comprising ethlyene-based polymers and methods of making same
Provided are oriented films comprising linear low density polyethylene polymer and having improved balance of properties including improved machine direction tear strength. The oriented polymer film has at least one layer comprising 50 to 100 wt. % of an ethylene-based polymer. The MDO polymer film has a normalized MD Elmendorf Tear (ASTM D-1922) of at least 40 g/μm. In certain embodiments, the MDO polymer film surprisingly does not tear when MD Elmendorf Tear is measured according to ASTM D-1922.
Molded plastic structures
A structure, such as a tabletop, may be constructed from plastic, such as blow-molded. The tabletop may include an upper surface, a lower surface, and a hollow interior portion disposed between the upper surface and the lower surface. A lip may extend downwardly relative to the lower surface of the tabletop, and the lip including an outer surface and an inner surface. A plurality of supports may be disposed in the inner surface of the lip, and a plurality of joints may be disposed in the inner surface of the lip. A joint may be disposed between adjacent supports. A distal portion of the lip may include a compression edge. A lower portion of the supports may contact the compression edge, and/or a lower portion of the joints may contact the compression edge.
METHOD OF KNEADING AND KNEADED MATERIAL
A kneading method includes conveying a raw material along a conveyance path; and increasing the raw material in pressure by restricting a conveyer from conveying the raw material by a barrier, causing the raw material with an increased pressure to flow into a passage from an inlet located at the conveyer, circulating the raw material having flowed into the passage to an outlet in the same direction as the conveying direction of the conveyer, and causing the raw material having circulated in the passage to flow out from the outlet to the outer circumference of a screw body. The raw material includes a polypropylene-based resin composition containing polypropylene and olefin rubber.
CURABLE RESIN COMPOSITION
A curable resin composition comprising; component (A) monofunctional 2-(allyloxymethyl) acrylic acid or its ester; component (B) a polyfunctional radically polymerizable compound having an isocyanurate ring; component (C) a radically polymerizable compound; component (D) rubber particles; and component (E) a radical polymerization initiator, the component (C) is a radically polymerizable compound different from the component (A) and the component (B); and when the sum of the component (A), the component (B) and the component (C) is 100 parts by mass, the component (B) is 20 parts by mass or more to 80 parts by mass or less and the component (C) is 0 parts by mass or more to 40 parts by mass or less.
BIAXIALLY ORIENTED POLYAMIDE FILM AND POLYAMIDE FILM MILL ROLL
To provide a gas barrier biaxially oriented polyamide film and a polyamide film mill roll, even as a product that is close to an end of a mill roll, having favorable mechanical characteristics, thermal characteristics, and few S-shape curling due to moisture absorption after being made into a bag. A biaxially oriented polyamide film having at least one layer formed of a polyamide resin containing not lower than 60% by mass of poly(m-xylylene adipamide), wherein a molecular orientation angle of the film is not smaller than 20°, a strain at moisture absorption of the film is not higher than 1.3%, an impact strength of the film is not lower than 0.7 J/15 μm, and a heat shrinkage rate, after heating for ten minutes at 160° C., of the film is 0.6 to 3.0% in both an MD direction and a TD direction.
Polyphenylene sulfide resin composition and molded article
A polyphenylene sulfide resin composition exhibits excellent initial toughness and toughness after a long-term high temperature treatment typified by a tensile elongation at break after a dry heat treatment without impairing mechanical strength, chemical resistance and electrical insulation properties. The polyphenylene sulfide resin composition includes 0.01 to 10 parts by weight of an organosilane compound and 0.01 to 5 parts by weight of a metal salt of phosphorus oxoacid based on 100 parts by weight of a polyphenylene sulfide resin, and a tensile elongation at break, which is measured in accordance with ASTM-D638 under the conditions of a tensile speed of 10 mm/min and an ambient temperature of 23° C. after treating at 200° C. for 500 hours using an ASTM No. 4 dumbbell test piece obtained by injection molding the composition, is 10% or more.
