Non-Invasive Peripheral Nerve Stimulation for The Enhancement of Behavioral Therapy

Systems and methods for improving behavioral therapies encompassing therapies wherein a perceptual stimulus is administered to a subject or a motor behavior is performed by the subject. Such administration of perceptual stimuli or motor performance is paired with the delivery of vagus nerve stimulation to the subject. The vagus nerve stimulation is timed with the sensory stimulus administration or motor performance in a temporal alignment that maximizes neuroplasticity and performance. Systems for performance of the method and associated software are also disclosed

Pumping fluid delivery systems and methods using force application assembly

A method of dispensing a therapeutic fluid from a line includes providing an inlet line connectable to an upstream fluid source. The inlet line is in downstream fluid communication with a pumping chamber. The pumping chamber has a pump outlet. The method also includes actuating a force application assembly so as to restrict retrograde flow of fluid through the inlet while pressurizing the pumping chamber to urge flow through the pump outlet. A corresponding system employs the method.

Device and method for the lavage-type introduction of a fecal transplant or of a therapeutically effective substance into the colon of a patient

A device and a method for a lavage-type introduction of a stool transplant or of another, local or topically effective substance through the anus into the colon of a patient, wherein the substance to be introduced is flushed also into the upper parts of the colon of the patient in a torrent-like manner through correspondingly large-lumen catheters; said device comprises an ano-rectal placed head part remaining inside the patient from the beginning until the end of the application and a system of exchangeable bags, which are connectable to the head part, whereby two different types of bags can be applied, one of which is designed for the cleaning lavage, while the another is designed for the introduction of a substance or a transplant.

Left ventricular volume and cardiac output estimation using machine learning model
11694813 · 2023-07-04 · ·

Methods and systems are disclosed for creating and using a neural network model to estimate a cardiac parameter of a patient, and using the estimated parameter in providing blood pump support to improve patient cardiac performance and heart health. Particular adaptations include adjusting blood pump parameters and determining whether and how to increase or decrease support, or wean the patient from the blood pump altogether. The model is created based on neural network processing of data from a first patient set and includes measured hemodynamic and pump parameters compared to a cardiac parameter measured in situ, for example the left ventricular volume measured by millar (in animals) or inca (in human) catheter. After development of a model based on the first set of patients, the model is applied to a patient in a second set to estimate the cardiac parameter without use of an additional catheter or direct measurement.

THORACIC CATHETER PROTECTOR POUCH
20230001151 · 2023-01-05 ·

A thoracic catheter protector pouch (1) to be worn by an adult, person or infant has a band (2) that encircles a body portion, such as a chest or arm, and a medial pocket portion (5) for holding a catheter tube (10) and connector end (11). The pocket portion has an inner panel (15) with a catheter tube securement strap (14) and two flaps (3 and 4) which open to insert a catheter and close over each other securely by fasteners (6 and 7) preferably hook and loop fastening material. The band is preferably elastomeric and is size adjustable.

Medical treatment system using measurement data from multiple sensors

A medical treatment system for determining administration of medications to a patient is disclosed. The system uses a plurality of sensors to perform a first set of physiologic measurements in a right side of the heart and a second set of physiologic measurements in a left side of the heart. The system also includes a receiver configured to receive measurement data regarding the first and second sets of physiologic measurements and output to a display device the received measurement data.

An inflow cannula for an implantable blood pump, the inflow cannula defining an inlet at a proximal end, an opposite distal end, and a lumen therebetween, the inflow cannula being configured to constrict the lumen.

Vascular Access Systems and Methods Thereof
20220401703 · 2022-12-22 ·

Disclosed herein are vascular access systems and methods thereof. For example, a vascular access system includes a port configured for subdermal implantation and a single-use access device. The port can include a port hub and a catheter tube. The port hub can include an access funnel and a septum defining a pair of port-hub lumens. The catheter tube can include a septum defining a pair of catheter-tube lumens fluidly coupled to the pair of port-hub lumens. The access device can include a bifurcated hub and a pair of cannulas. The pair of cannulas defines a pair of cannula lumens coupled to a pair of access device-hub lumens of the bifurcated hub. The pair of cannulas can be configured to simultaneously insert into the access funnel and couple the pair of cannula lumens to the pair of catheter-tube lumens when the pair of cannulas is fully seated in the port hub.

Method for peritoneal removal of electrolytes and inflammatory mediators

A method of peritoneal removal of electrolytes and inflammatory mediators. The method begins with infusing a treatment solution into the peritoneal cavity of a patient by way of a catheter. The treatment solution is drained from the peritoneal cavity by way of the catheter. During the draining, the treatment solution is filtered for removing electrolytes and inflammatory mediators.

High resistance implanted bronchial isolation devices and methods

Disclosed are methods and devices for regulating fluid flow to and from a region of a patient's lung, such as to achieve a desired fluid flow dynamic to a lung region during respiration and/or to induce collapse in one or more lung regions. Pursuant to an exemplary procedure, an identified region of the lung is targeted for treatment. The targeted lung region is then bronchially isolated to regulate airflow into and/or out of the targeted lung region through one or more bronchial passageways that feed air to the targeted lung region. An exemplary flow control device is configured to block fluid flow in the inspiratory direction and the expiratory direction at normal breathing pressures and allow fluid flow in the expiratory direction at higher than normal breathing pressures.
