VEHICLE COMPONENT BASED ON SELECTIVE COMMINGLED FIBER BUNDLE HAVING INTEGRAL ELECTRICAL HARNESS AND EMBEDDED ELECTRONICS
A form for a vehicle component including a commingled fiber bundle laid out in a two-dimensional base layer that defines a shape of the form, a successive layer formed with the commingled fiber bundle in contact with the two-dimensional layer, and at least one of electrical conductive wiring, sensor, light emitting diode (LED), antenna, radio frequency identification chip, or a printed circuit board stitched to the successive layer. The comingled fiber bundle is composed of a reinforcement fiber being glass fibers, aramid fibers, carbon fibers, or a combination thereof.
Plastic component with fastening pieces
A plastic component with a substrate including a plastic and at least one first fastening piece that is embodied for a form-fitting engagement with a complementarily formed second fastening piece and has at least one anchoring element embedded and fixed in a position in the substrate; the substrate includes soft foam with a weight per unit volume of 120 kg/m3 to 300 kg/m3 and a Shore A hardness of 5 to 100 and the fastening element includes a thermoplastic plastic.
SOUND PROTECTION PANEL FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE ENGINE COMPARTMENT
The invention relates to a panel with a porous shell and a spring layer, part of which enters the shell and produces an integrated sealed barrier. The foam of the shell is an integral skinned foam and the shell has a core with a substantially homogenous density and a porous skin. The overall density of the shell is between 150 and 350 kg/m3. The skin thickness is between 0.3 and 2 mm and has a permeability such that a 2 mm thick foam strip cut into the shell and integrating the skin exhibits air flow resistance of between 250 and 2000 N.s.m−3.
ACOUSTICAL BAFFLE
The present invention is directed to an acoustical baffle that has use in vehicle interiors, such as an interior headliner. In particular, the baffle can provide improved acoustics while maintaining a desired airflow resistance and can be configured to provide for different sound attenuation characteristics at selected locations of the baffle construction.
FLEXIBLE SHELF GUARD FOR RECREATIONAL VEHICLES
A flexible shelf guard for securing items or products in a shelf of a recreational vehicle is disclosed. The shelf guard is designed with a first section and a second section. The first section and the second section are molded to a middle section using a two-shot molding process, thereby producing the shelf guard. The shelf guard is securely and removably affixed to a top portion of the shelf by inwardly folding both end portions of the first section and the second section. The shelf guard comprises a holder and a drainer. The holder is molded to a front portion of the middle section of the shelf guard using any molding process. The drainer is configured to drain fluid/water within the shelf, thereby preventing the growth of molds and microorganisms by maintaining a dry environment within the shelf.
Two shot injection molded vehicle hitch step
A hitch step assembly comprises a first shot component injection molded from a first polymer compound with a high flexural modulus and a second shot component injection molded from a second polymer compound having a lower flexural modulus relative to the first shot compound. A post and a step body core are molded from the first polymer compound. A shell of the step body is molded from the second polymer compound and is overmolded onto the step body core. The shell forms a compression zone that attenuates rear impact forces the hitch step encounters, thus offering some protection against rear impacts. The hitch step assembly exhibits satisfactory resistance to deflection and torsional bending about a hitch receiver axis when a force is applied on the top surface of the hitch step near its lateral ends.
FOAM MOLDED PRODUCT, METHOD FOR PRODUCING FOAM MOLDED PRODUCT, AND MOLDING DIE STRUCTURE OF FOAM MOLDED PRODUCT
A foam molded product capable of preventing generation of an underfill portion due to a concave portion and a convex portion formed on a surface of the foam molded product and suppressing increase in cost, a method for producing the foam molded product, a molding die structure of the foam molded product, and a vehicle seat pad using the foam molded product are provided. A foam molded product 10 formed by integrally molding a foam body 12 made of a foamable resin material M and including a shape deformation section 26 that is a concave strip or a convex strip on a surface, and a sheet-shaped support member 14 covering a surface opposing a formation face of the shape deformation section 26 of the foam body 12. In the support member 14 of the foam molded product 10, a projected portion 16 is provided in a region opposing the shape deformation section 26 and/or a vicinity of the region, and the projected portion 16 is in a columnar shape extending in an extending direction of the shape deformation section 26.
VEHICLE INTERIOR COMPONENT
A vehicle interior component with a heater/heating element is disclosed. The component may comprise an assembly with the heating element produced in a mold tool by a process comprising assembling the heating element between a cover layer and a fiber layer to provide a pre-form assembly; consolidating the pre-form assembly (e.g. including trimming/compressing and/or heating); forming the pre-form assembly in the mold tool into a compression-formed body with a shape; applying a cover to the compression-formed body to provide a compression-formed panel. The compression-formed panel may be provided with the shape and an external surface provided by the cover. The texture/feel at the external surface of the compression-formed panel for the component may obscure the presence of the heating element within the component. The component may comprise a console; floor console; tunnel console; armrest; instrument panel; door; door panel; trim component; or panel.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PRODUCING AN EDGEFOLD
A device for producing an edgefold on a component is suggested, wherein the component includes a support and a cover layer. The component may be an inner lining part of a motor vehicle, without limitation thereto. The device comprises an elastic body, which is set up to pull the cover layer over an edge of the support by deforming the elastic body.
