A rear wiper for a motor vehicle according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a wiper arm including an overmolded metallic bar. This disclosure also relates to a motor vehicle including the rear wiper, and a method of forming the rear wiper.

Method for manufacturing a windshield wiper blade
10017160 · 2018-07-10 · ·

A method for manufacturing an elongated windshield wiper blade includes providing a tandem wiper blade (1) made in one piece of an elastomeric material, which is composed of two wiper blades (2, 3) integrally joined together, and subsequently cutting the tandem wiper blade (1) so as to separate the two wiper blades (2, 3) each having a wiping head (4) facing away from a windshield to be wiped and a wiping lip (5) to be placed in abutment with a windshield to be wiped. The two wiper blades (2, 3) forming the tandem wiper blade (1) are integrally joined together at the location of their wiping heads (4) facing towards each other, wherein the tandem wiper blade (1) is cut into the two separate wiper blades (2, 3) along their wiping heads (4) facing towards each other.

A wiper blade extends in a longitudinal direction and includes a blade rubber, a plate spring-like backing, and a rubber holder. The blade rubber wipes a wiped surface. The backing adds rigidity and elasticity to the blade rubber. The rubber holder holds an intermediate portion of the blade rubber in the longitudinal direction and an intermediate portion of the backing in the longitudinal direction. The rubber holder includes a backing accommodation slot that accommodates and holds the backing. The backing accommodation slot extends through the rubber holder in the longitudinal direction. The parting line is set in a middle section of the backing accommodation slot in the longitudinal direction.

WINDSCREEN WIPER DEVICE
20180037196 · 2018-02-08 ·

The windscreen wiper device includes a wiper blade that extends lengthwise in a longitudinal direction. A pre-curved carrier element with opposing lateral edges biases the wiper blade into a curved shape. At least one projection of a connector base is received in at least one notch of the carrier element for restricting relative longitudinal movement between the connector base and the carrier element. The connector base also at least one long locking arm and at least one short locking arm which engage around the lateral edges of the carrier element to lockingly connect the connector base with the carrier element. The at least one short locking arm has a lateral width which is less than the at least one long locking arm. The at least one short locking arm has a ramped lower surface for allowing the at least one short locking arm to snappingly engage the carrier element.

PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF A COATED RUBBER ITEM AND RUBBER ITEM
20170198163 · 2017-07-13 ·

A process for the production of a coated rubber item, comprising: (i) provision of a semifinished product having the main shape of the rubber item, where the semifinished product is composed of a rubber composition comprising at least one rubber and at least one crosslinking agent; (ii) coating of the semifinished product with a solvent-free coating composition comprising at least one monomer amenable to free-radical polymerization, (iii) crosslinking of the rubber composition and polymerization of the coating composition, to give a coated rubber item;
wherein the boiling point of the at least one monomer amenable to free-radical polymerization is 150 C. and the crosslinking of the rubber composition takes place at the same time as the polymerization of the coating composition.

Formulation for a blade element of a windscreen wiper blade
09550882 · 2017-01-24 · ·

A formulation for the preparation of a wiping blade element for a vehicle windscreen wiper blade is disclosed. The formulation has an elastomer material based on chloroprene rubber in which plasticizing additives are incorporated, where the plasticizing additives include a combination of at least a first additive, the pour point of which is less than 50 C., and at least a second additive, the pour point of which is greater than 50 C. The first additive is octyl sebacate in a proportion of 4 phr and the second is a naphthalic oil plasticizer or a C.sub.18-C.sub.30 tricarboxylic ester in a proportion of 10 phr.
