At a distal end of the first bar, a second bar is hingedly mounted to the first bar. A first lamp element is hingedly mounted to one end of the second bar. A second lamp element is hingedly mounted to a second end of the second bar. The first and second lamp elements are positionable in a variety of positions to follow the path of a crack in a surface to be repaired. The lamp elements are also foldable into a storage position.
CURING REPAIR RESIN
The present invention provides a repair resin composition for repairing breaks in a vehicle windscreen and curing units for curing the repair resin after it has been inserted into the break. The present invention also provides a method of repairing a vehicle windscreen, comprising inserting a resin into a repair zone, wherein the resin comprises a photoinitiator that activates when exposed to light of an activation wavelength, wherein the activation wavelength is between 370 nm and 425 nm, and curing the resin by emitting light including light within the activation wavelength range onto the repair zone.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR THE REPAIR OF LAMINATED AUTOGLASS.
A device and method for expediting the repair of laminated automobile glass, comprising a supporting bridge removably mountable to a windshield surface over a damaged area, with a receptacle for receiving an injector or dispenser for UV curable repair resin, and guide means between said bridge and dispenser comprised of a guide pin and a guide groove with linear and helical portions. The resin dispenser can be quickly aligned, inserted into place and sealed against the windshield with only a partial twist. The dispenser includes a manually operable plunger which partially defines an expandable chamber to hold UV curable repair resin and provide a means of controllably applying vacuum or pressure to the resin and damaged cavity, valve means to allow selectable control of air to be released from or allowed into said chamber to facilitate creation and application of vacuum or pressure, further including means to lock the plunger in multiple selectable positions to maintain applied vacuum or pressure. Integrated ultra high intensity UV LED's surround the damaged area and apply sufficient intensity UV to fully cure the repair and surfacing resin without the use of any barrier film.
Method for applying a seal to a plate
The invention relates to a method for applying a joint (2, 102) onto a plate (3), in particular a plate having shape defects. An edge of interest is defined on a portion of the plate (3) onto which the joint (2, 102) is intended to be applied. The plate (3) is then placed on a tool (4, 104) comprising a supporting element (5, 105) made of solid material and a supporting element (6, 106) made of flexible material, in such a way that the edge of interest rests on a portion of the supporting element made of flexible material. While the joint is applied onto the edge of interest, the plate is maintained in a predetermined reference position and the element made of flexible material is pushed against the plate, perpendicularly to an outer surface of the element made of flexible material, the outer surface being opposite to the surface on which the edge of interest rests.
Method for producing a plastic vehicle part
A method for producing a plastic vehicle attachment part is described, such that a polymeric film is laid in an injection mold, the polymeric film having an opaque or semi-opaque imprint or a color pigmentation. The polymeric film is back injected with a polymeric covering part, wherein the polymeric covering part is optically transparent. A polymeric carrier part is sprayed at least on a part of the surface of the polymeric covering part facing away from the polymeric film. A protective layer is applied at least on the polymeric film.
Method for manufacturing plastic window
A method for manufacturing a plastic window includes a mold preparation step for preparing a first mold, a second mold, and a third mold, a film preparation step for preparing a functional film, a conductive portion, and a bus bar, a placement step for placing the functional film, a first injection step, wherein an intermediate product provided with the cover on the functional film in an integral manner is made, and a second injection step, wherein a product provided with the intermediate product on the second surface in an integral manner is made. The first mold surface has a first forming portion forming the back surface of the cover and a second forming portion forming the second surface of the transparent body. In the placement step, the conductive portion is placed on the second forming portion and the bus bar is placed on the first forming portion.
TRANSPARENT DRAWN ARTICLE
The invention relates to a process for the production of a high strength transparent high density polyethylene article comprising the steps of (i) heating a high density polyethylene (HDPE) to a temperature above the melting temperature (T.sub.m) of the HDPE; (ii) molding the heated HDPE obtained in step (i) to form a hot molded HDPE article; (iii) cooling the hot molded HDPE article to a temperature below T.sub.m to form a melt-crystallized HDPE article; (iv) stretching the melt-crystallized HDPE article to a total draw ratio of at least 5 comprising at least one stretching step of the article at a temperature T.sub.1 below the melting temperature T.sub.m to a draw ratio (DR.sub.1) of at least 2 to form an oriented HDPE article, wherein the HDPE has a melt flow index (MFI) measured at 21.6 kg and 190 C. according to ASTM D1238 of at most 1.5 g/I Omin, an isotropic density measured according to ISO 1 183-1 A of at most 0.955 g/cm3 and a T.sub.m measured according to ISO 1 1357-3 of greater than 130 C. The invention also relates to high strength transparent HDPE articles and products comprising the high strength transparent HDPE article such as ballistic resistant articles, visors, car parts, train parts, plane parts, windshields, windows and radomes.
