Play ball with foam filling
A play ball has a rubber shell filled with resilient foam having an entire outer peripheral surface thereof intimately attached by heat fusion and adhesive to an entire interior surface of the shell. Such attachment enables the foam to provide additional resiliency by foam tension, as well as by foam compression, thereby significantly extending the effective bounce life of the ball. A seamed dog chew toy has essentially similar construction such that the increased retention force provided by the intimate attachment of the foam to the shell resists the chewing force of the dog popping a seam improving durability.
PROCESS FOR PRODUCING LONGER FIBERS IN INJECTION MOLDED SOLID PARTS BY DISSOLVING OF GAS DURING PLASTICIZING
The disclosure is directed to a solid part, and a device and process of making the solid part. The process includes introducing a glass fiber filled polymeric material to a hopper of an injection molding machine, where the glass fibers have a pre-molding length, melting the glass fiber filled polymeric material to form a melt in a plasticizing unit, pressurizing the plasticizing unit of the injection molding machine with a blowing agent, dissolving the blowing agent into the melt, injecting the melt into a mold cavity up to 100% of volume, and forming the solid part.
Method for Molding Three-Dimensional Toy
A method for molding a three-dimensional toy includes selecting an upper die and a lower die each having a three-dimensional molding cavity, spreading a photosensitive molding glue on the inner wall of the molding cavity of each of the upper die and the lower die, closing the upper die and the lower die, placing the upper die and the lower die in an ultraviolet lamp box or irradiating the upper die and the lower die under the sun to solidify the photosensitive molding glue so as to mold a three-dimensional toy, and opening the upper die and the lower die to remove the three-dimensional toy from the upper die and the lower die.
MODIFIED SILICONE RESIN FOAM
A modified silicone resin foam is obtained by curing a foamable liquid resin composition including: 100 parts by weight of a base material resin (A) composed of 65 to 95 parts by weight of a polymer (a) and 5 to 35 parts by weight of a reactive plasticizer (b); 0.1 to 5 parts by weight of a silanol condensation catalyst (B); and 2 to 40 parts by weight of a chemical foaming agent (C). The polymer (a) contains 1.0 to 2.0 reactive silicon groups in a molecular chain and has a main chain comprising oxyalkylene-based units. The reactive plasticizer (b) is a polymer containing 1.0 or fewer reactive silicon groups at one terminal end of a molecular chain and has a main chain comprising oxyalkylene-based units. A percent elongation of the foam is 300 to 1000% in a 25 C. atmosphere.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR DESIGNING AND MANUFACTURING MATHEMATICALLY FAIR N-SIDED DICE
Methods and systems for designing and manufacturing a mathematically fair N-sided die are disclosed. An example method can comprise selecting an irregular polyhedron to serve as a die, and determining a center of mass of the selected irregular polyhedron die. In an aspect, a size of each face of the irregular polyhedron can be selected such that a solid angle subtended by each face from the center of mass of the selected irregular polyhedron can be equal. In an aspect a system comprising an injection molding apparatus can be used to form the die
Toy Dart
The invention relates to a dart head for a toy dart, comprising a body having a hollow stem portion integrally formed with and longitudinally extending from an enlarged, hollow head portion; the head portion and the stem portion being fluidly connected, with the head portion defining at least one first transverse internal head dimension, and the stem portion defining at least one first transverse internal stem dimension; wherein the at least one first transverse internal head dimension is larger than the at least one first transverse internal stem dimension. The invention also relates to a toy dart comprising a dart body connectable with the dart head as described, and a method of manufacturing the dart head as described.

Low-temperature deformable thermoplastic device
The present invention relates to a deformable device (10), including a first thermoplastic material (40), said first material being substantially rigid at a temperature lower than a first threshold (T.sub.1) and malleable at a temperature higher than said first threshold (T.sub.1), said first threshold (T.sub.1) preferably being comprised between 40 C. and 90 C. The device includes an outer shell (16) made of at least one second flexible material (42), said outer shell defining an inner recess (18), the first material (40) filling the inner recess, the at least one second flexible material (42) forming the outer shell being in solid state at least until a second temperature threshold (T.sub.2) higher than the first threshold (T.sub.1) by 10 C., preferably by 20 C.
METHOD FOR PROVIDING COLOR AND MATERIAL PROPERTY OPTIONS IN A THREE-DIMENSIONAL OBJECT PRINTER
A method of manufacturing a three-dimensional object comprises: selecting a first ejector in a plurality of ejectors of a three-dimensional object printer with reference to a hardness identifier, the first ejector configured to eject a first material; selecting a second ejector in the plurality of ejectors with reference to a color identifier, the second ejector configured to eject a second material having a hardness that is different than a hardness of the first material; operating the first ejector to eject the first material toward a platen to form an inner portion of the object with the first material; and operating the second ejector to eject the second material toward the platen to form an outer layer of the object with the second material, the outer layer of the object surrounding at least a portion of the inner portion of the object.
MANUFACTURE OF PARTIALLY TRANSPARENT BATH TOYS
A hollow thermoplastic toy for use in a child's bath, having a vent hole, a transparent region and an opaque region, is manufactured by blow-molding a parison which features a region of transparent thermoplastic and a region of opaque thermoplastic. The transparent region serves to permit visual detection of the growth of mold or mildew within the toy.
